Surprised there's no thread on this. Did anyone watch it last night or has the series reached its natural end and is no longer attracting viewers?

I remember Violet in The Lakes with John Simm years ago. She was very pretty.

I think that Minty was in Bramwell in the mid 1990s with Jemma Redgrave.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 04/03/2019 20:59

They said 3 more series last night.

There is no way Heidi Thomas will write a script where Dr Smug has misdiagnosed someone so I think Fred is safe.

user1457017537 · 04/03/2019 21:01

Fred was in Kavanagh QC he was the Tom the Clerk.

beeyourself · 04/03/2019 21:03

Nurse Crane was the Mum in East is East

diddl · 04/03/2019 21:09

Anyone else remember her in The Lakes with Kevin Doyle (Moseley in Downton Abbey)?

diddl · 04/03/2019 21:10

Oops!

Just seen Clawdy's post.

iklboo · 04/03/2019 21:28

They also had spelled "Schroeder" wrong on the board outside the house, missing the "C"

It might have been a slight 'Anglicised' spelling maybe? DH's family dropped a C from their name after the war.

GrumbleBumble · 04/03/2019 21:40

There was a reference to the ballgowns being a change from the current fashionable shape - something about missing nipped in waists.

Linda Basset was also Queenie in Larkrise to Candleford.

Limer · 05/03/2019 09:49

I thought - Aha, he's a glazier - there'll be a broken window before long! How wrong I was! Never considered a mirror ball!

icelolly99 · 05/03/2019 12:12

I recognise Violet as the tragic Mum in the TV film of Goodnight Mr Tom.

icelolly99 · 05/03/2019 12:16

.....i consider myself to be a great wife but I almost spat out my coffee when Shelagh said to Doctor Smugface "here's the sauce; I've already shaken it for you".......Grin

123newname · 05/03/2019 13:04

Limer so she is !! I’d never have noticed that - gosh . I haven’t seen that film in years as I end up crying too much Blush .

iklboo · 05/03/2019 14:29

Oooh I really didn't see May's adoption falling through (drowns in sarcasm)

I'm sure the GMC would have had something to say about Dr Smugface running out in the middle of a GP surgery to go and collect her. Grin

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 05/03/2019 16:07

I did think the lady sitting waiting was very forgiving! I'd have been less happy.

ShakeYourTailFeathers · 05/03/2019 16:14

Nurse Crane popped up in dinnerladies too - she played Jean's sister.

Walked into the kitchen and sniffed the air "What have you been cooking? Food?"

Tony answered "it's what people seem to want to eat..."

Oft repeated in our house....

diddl · 05/03/2019 16:20

" "here's the sauce; I've already shaken it for you"."

I know!

I thought maybe Heidi Thomas was having a bit of fun with them.

Was the breakfast 2 fried eggs-is that a thing that people eat?

LoisWilkerson1 · 05/03/2019 16:27

She can simper and shake at the same time. Quite impressiveGrin I suppose they are trying to show how relationships were in ye olden days. Or maybe she was just being nice to the Lord Doctor Our Only Saviour. Fifty midwives and one GP is a bit far fetched. Bring us another doctor!

iklboo · 05/03/2019 16:46

I thought maybe Heidi Thomas was having a bit of fun with them.

Maybe it's an in joke and he's asked her at home if she's shaken the sauce for him (not a euphemism).

ppeatfruit · 06/03/2019 11:46

Shake Dinnerladies is my fave sitcom. I could watch it forever Grin

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 06/03/2019 12:32

Me too, @ppeatfruit.

iklboo · 06/03/2019 16:06

DS loves it too. He was howling laughing. He was pretty upset when he found out Victoria Wood has died.
