Surprised there's no thread on this. Did anyone watch it last night or has the series reached its natural end and is no longer attracting viewers?

Flowers Brie. This must be a tough storyline for you.

Re PPE - is it different if the worker is technically self-employed?

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 19/02/2019 13:02

Just place-marking again — I'm two episodes behind (!) and this had dropped off my TIO.

chickensaresafehere · 19/02/2019 13:03

Just caught up on this weeks episode & it made me quite emotional.
Especially the scene with the old man dying,as I watched my dads last days in hospital (dementia) & it brought it all back.
The community spirit of Poplar always tugs at my heartstrings too. Nothing like that now ☹️

Hepzibar · 19/02/2019 20:03

Blobby10 crossed my mind it was Jim but thought nah he looks too old.

Forget how many years have passed- need too look in the mirror myself!

HoraceCope · 20/02/2019 05:39

I thought Violet Buckle was going to be talked into providing the uniforms

BikeRunSki · 20/02/2019 20:05

Re PPE - is it different if the worker is technically self-employed?

If they are self employed, then they need to provide their own PPE, but if soley contracted to a large construction company for extended periods, eg:,Balfour Beatty, Redrow Home’s etc or dedicated to a single client, eg: Aldi, then it is normal practice for that client to provide branded PPE with their logo on. This is more for marketing reasons than H&S law though!!

I hadn't thought about Val's grandma being an abortionist, though the money / infection / mention of area being "a ghost town" do make sense.

Drookit · 24/02/2019 20:03

Loving the outfits tonight at the canapé party

glamorousgrandmother · 24/02/2019 20:14

The Turner's house is horrible though. That hideous shade of green and no curtains.

Mrscaindingle · 24/02/2019 20:47

Oh god I can't believe we're meant to swallow that shite about visiting prostitutes as a means of coping with stress ffs. Dr Smuggy Mcsmugface's acting gets more hammy week by week.

Toddlerteaplease · 24/02/2019 20:47

Well you were all right about Val's gran being the abortionist!

Namechangeforthiscancershit · 24/02/2019 20:48

I can’t believe everyone called it about Val’s nan!

Ratatouille76 · 24/02/2019 20:48

Oh Trixie does annoy me.

JustDanceAddict · 24/02/2019 20:49

Wow, am
Impressed about those who called it about the nan.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 24/02/2019 20:50

Dr Smug makes it impossible to suspend your disbelief. He totally ruins it.

No surprise about Val's gran then.

WhentheRabbitsWentWild · 24/02/2019 20:50

That white and orange dress Lucille had on was beautiful and really suited her.

Ratatouille76 · 24/02/2019 20:51

Dr Turner and Mrs Turner really need to go.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 24/02/2019 20:51

Shame Miriam Margolyes isn't staying.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 24/02/2019 20:53

They won't go as long as the writer is married to Dr Smug. Let's be honest that's the only reason he's got this job.

Toddlerteaplease · 24/02/2019 20:59

As if you'd just forgive your husband who's been sleeping with a prostitute. given you an STI, and put you're baby at risk, just like that!

Namechangeforthiscancershit · 24/02/2019 21:01

toddler he’s going to come home every night though so problem solved...

WhentheRabbitsWentWild · 24/02/2019 21:01

That scene between Val , and what she had seen, and her Grandmother, and what she had seen was pretty hard hitting . Both sides of very opposing views.

WhentheRabbitsWentWild · 24/02/2019 21:02

And the acting by the lady who plays Val was amazing . She showed complete shock , anger and pure upset/betrayal which is how most would react to such a discovery I would imagine.

ItsAHardKn0ckLife1 · 24/02/2019 21:06

Shelagh always seems to whisper when she speaks, almost like a sigh.

AppleKatie · 24/02/2019 21:08

Shock can’t believe MN was right about Val’s nan.

Val’s reaction was brilliant though I agree. It will be interesting to see how it goes next week.
