A quiet corner of MN for serious addicts of Kdrama, or the Kdrama-curious. Most of our viewing is drawn from Netflix and Viki, but the more seriously addicted have other sources, including dramabus. Just watched 3 episodes of the recent Luthor with DH and it was good but SO DARK!! Literally & figuratively. Found myself comparing the filming style with kdramas.

Betty!?! You watched English language telly?

Me too. DH and I have come to an agreement - 9-10pm every night is for not-Korean TV. We watched the first episode of Sex Education on Netflix with Gillian Anderson as a sex therapist and Asa Butterfield as her mortified teenage son. It was decidedly odd - filmed in the UK with lots of Brit actors, but a weirdly US high school feel. Looks like some of it was shot in the Wye valley, although I’m not 100% sure. Very pretty British scenery.

Yy but not live, pre recorded so we could binge. Always liked Luther.

Sex Education ‘s promo does have a US feel, I’m getting quite prurient after so much kdrama I’m not sure I want to know too much about teenagers having sex.

Currently enjoying Priest (Drama bus) which is unusual for me as it is about exorcisms but it has a slight Buffy/Scooby feel and some sly humour. Plus my latest oppa Yeon Woo Jin.

I’ve nearly finished SWP - half way through ep 15 & I am definitely going to bed around midnight, so the finake will have to wait. It’s really frothy and daft, which is only half scratching the itch. I want something more like Because TIMFL or with more heft.

Has anyone watched Just Between Lovers on viki yet? That looks like it might be more serious and thoughtful.

Ep 18!... And fed up with the machinations of the presidents heart op!... Just want Dr jealous to find out he's been wrong about Dr Toasty... And all the romance to sort itself out... Think I'll go to bed and leave last two eps for tomorrow evening!

I just watched all the Just Between Lovers teaser trailers on viki. Think I might give that a whirl next.

I enjoyed Just Between Lovers but it was very sloooow. Thought the ML was very good but the FL a bit planklike in the romance scenes.

Bea I also got frustrated with the story in Dr Stranger, it’s the only Toasty LYS drama I have skipped on

Ugh. Today is painful after staying up late on Saturday. I need to bottle this feeling to remind me why its important to go bed at a sensible time. Getting some much needed fresh air on a walk between meetings.

Buuuut... You've got to admit.... How the characters go back to their sloppy selves... Their true selves is lovely... In a Hollywood movie he would only have noticed her if she glammed up... And they would have kept her "pretty" until the very end... But she went back to herself.. He came back for her..gave up his job... And... I love the giggly scene at her parents house where they slide the door open and hold hands...!.... You've got to like that....,.. A little???..... 😊

I liked it well enough. It’s sweet they found each other again and that he came back earlier, but why did it have to be PSJ?

I’ve started Just Between Lovers and I’m already liking the slow burn and social realism/mundane aspects. The leads also look promising. Where is it located? I see ocean, so not Seoul, and for the first time I can ever remember black people in a street scene so I am guessing a more cosmopolitan mixed port city. Is it Busan?
