A quiet corner of MN for serious addicts of Kdrama, or the Kdrama-curious. Most of our viewing is drawn from Netflix and Viki, but the more seriously addicted have other sources, including dramabus. Our lovely occasional posters who have lived in Korea, are Korean or have Korean partners/family members pop up to provide the context for some of the more baffling cultural references.

We love a good kdrama bingo card to mark off the regular tropes – white truck of doom, drunk/med evac piggybacks, stalkers, rooftop apartments etc

I don't think they have the two weeks off that seems to be prevalent in the UK, they seem to just take a couple of days of for Christmas. I guess they have very little downtime poor things. The pace of producing dramas seems to be relentless too, especially as a lot are still filming when they start airing.

1.30am for me last night...can't get to sleep very easily anyway. Actually find it harder to sleep if don't read/watch as brain still busy. Used to work night shifts so am an owl really, rest of family are larks pah!

I’m an owl in a family of larks, hence the gravtitation towards boxsets as I have a lot of time to fill after everyone else has turned in.

I’m torn. Ghost is moderately diverting (on a par with a US crime series, so decent but not to usual kdrama standard). I might have skipped, but I’m getting lots of time with Ji Sub. What to do? I’ve only the weekend before normal life resumes...

If it was me...I would skippitydoodah the boring bits without delish Mr Fitness to maximise my time cos you can predict the story really.

Is Weightlifting Fairy good? Should I be refocussing my efforts this weekend?

Ooh and My ID is Gangnam Beauty has just arrived on Netflix, that’s my next watch.

I have deserted Ghost and am quite enjoying Introverted Boss on drama bus. Might have a new squeeze too 😂

Yes! Gangnam Beauty is on my list!... Might be my next watch though going to watch The K2 as well as soon as I've finished I Hear Your Voice and Pinnochio!.. I need to get a Grrrr JCW fix!... Need some action and Grrrrr!!

The K2 is v enjoyable but you will need to skippity through the political bits & I will be interested to know who you think JCW is more suited to, the vapid FL or the Machiavellian FL

I noticed Ghost runs to 20 episodes! I’ve jumped ship for Weightlifting Fairy, which I’m already loving. I can vicariously enjoy the fitness bits whilst scarfing leftover Xmas chocs.

Finished!... But.... I'm sooo angry at netflix! Again! It just ended soooo abruptly!... So I had a quick look on YouTube and there are final scenes!... Where he's obviously become a policeman!... Arrrggh! Think I'm going to write to netflix to flippin complain! Grrrr!..... 🤨😡😡.... And that's nothing to do with JCW!

However!... Another good un! Not as favoured as W or Love From Another Star!.
. But still excellent all the same!.. I found the age thing a little unconvincing... But like I said still loved it!.. Big thumbs up...

Have you watched Live yet Bea? Its a bit straighter and grittier than all the shiny romances, but I think itis reallyterric - great writing, great cast.
