A quiet corner of MN for serious addicts of Kdrama, or the Kdrama-curious. Most of our viewing is drawn from Netflix and Viki, but the more seriously addicted have other sources, including dramabus. It was! Unfortunately having 2 large ones has required a lie down in front of my newly liberated telly with Goblin streaming on viki.

I am 2 episodes out from the end of Goblin. DS2 couldn’t get to sleep last night & kept boomeranging back downstairs so I let him sit with me for a while. We both had a proper blub in the white truck of doom episode. DS2 has declared Goblin to be “one of your better kdramas” and “good.”

Hmm! Goblin may go on my ever expanding list!... Though you have to promise me a happy ending... Read the plot to Hymn Of Death (netflix)... And thought... "this is so not going to end happily!"...😭

I've been curious about the Korean "porridge" that has been presented to our ailing heroes when ill or need something yummy... Namely Healer and Suspicious Partner (must be a fave food of JCW 😂)... I've always had my suspicions that it's juh... Or jook as my siblings insist it's spelt... Or Congee (which seems to be the popular Western name)... It's a favourite in our house when you need something comforting or homely... Googled this morning and it is!!
My mum makes a good pot... It's basically rice porridge with a little chicken and dried bean curd... It's very yummy!... And is custom in our family to have turkey juh after Christmas using the left over turkey carcass!... So I'm making a big ole pot today and fingers crossed... Ji Chang Wook might pop over for a bowl!!... 😉😂😂😍😍😍

I have finished Just Between Lovers and now really really want something fluffy & engrossing. It was ok but slooooow and the romantic scenes were spoiled by the FL being as stiff as a plank although the ML was so endearing

Oh I have a recipe for porridge in the book DSs gf gave me for Christmas. Also some simple recipes for kimchi (which will give me a good reason to go to the Korean supermarket to restock on plum soju)

Yes, probably. It was more the Goblin top with the goblin and his bride on the harbour wall with her in her red sxarf and him in his lovely knitwear that caught my eye, but I wouldn’t actually buy it. Equally, if DH treated me for my birthday, I’d wear it. 😂

For posterity, I’ll mention there’s a scene with Goblin in an absolutely minging yellow tanktop which should have been consigned to the editing room floor for crimes against fashion.

Your thoughts please on the concept of a kimcheese toasty (kimchee & cheese) and whether squishy brie, stilton or strong cheddar would work best? We are in the post Xmas eating up experimentation phase before our next shop.

Yes! Cheddar as kimchi I see as pickle... So cheddar and pickle!
On the side?... It's a Chinese fried bread stick... Again with a pair of scissors I snip it into the porridge.. Like a crispy doughy crouton!... All made by my own fair hands!... Yes!! JCW! You don't know what you're missing!... I seem to recall PSJ was offered some in She was pretty!... PSJ!!.... Come and get your porridge!!.... 😍😊😂

I went with the vintage red Leicester in the end - the pale green cabbage & red gochugan flakes looked like they woukd sit right with the cheese. It works! The spiciness is like pepperoni on pizza. The big chunks of the cabbage stayed crunchy. The tang of the vinegar complements the cheese like chutney. DH says its “good weird.”

I am so trying a kimcheese toasty . Brainwave! I'm thinking crumbly Lancashire...

OMG! here I go again!... But with each new drama I am gob smacked at how good they are!...
Just about to begin W ep 10!... It's sooo good with all the twists and turns... Is it a comedy? Supernatural? Thriller? Romance? Who knows!!... But with each passing event I'm like... 😯😯😯😯😯😯
