A fucking fireplace indeed. Ridiculous. I agree it seems likely that a fireplace/loft conversion-related disaster is imminent. If the writers could arrange for Evie and Alfie to be the only victims I could get on board with that storyline.

Is it just me that hadn’t noticed the lack of fireplace before? I thought they had one. A few weeks ago Kat had a big map of London on the wall above what I assumed was a fireplace but maybe it wasn’t.

They do have a bar but now you mention it I don’t remember seeing it this evening when Hayley was announcing her baby name or when the fireplace men arrived.

The bar was where Pat went after a night on the tiles ( or the game) for a 'tipple'.
