God I miss Blanche she was my most favourite ever soap character as well, if Anne Kirkbride had lived I’m sure she would have morphed into Blanche, I do think with good writing Tracey could become the next Blanche, she can really deliver cutting lines well. Going back to Sinead where the hell were any of the Barlows while all the birth drama was going on? The whole of Underworld were there but no Ken, Peter, Adam or Tracey?? Utterly ridiculous, It could have been a great opportunity for Ken and Daniel to make up after all their drama but no, not a single Barlow to be seen, not even a telephone call to say Sinead had had the baby! The writing is so poor, the stories don’t flow it’s actually an embarrassment, seriously who writes this crap?

It is awful betty. There are no relationships anymore. Just dramatic storylines that are swiftly forgotten for the next one.

Yes the consultant brought her in to tell her that her tumour hadn’t responded well to the chemo and had grown so they needed to do radiotherapy which would be harmful to baby so they did a section at 27 weeks. All happened very quickly.

Gosh. That sounds dramatic. I'd better try and watch it before Wednesday!

Has Sinead got semi-permanent eyelash extensions? I was fascinated how perfect her eyes stayed throughout her tramatic time tonight.

Is Duncan and May's daughter adopted? She has far darker skin than either of them.

I’m confused about the radiotherapy. Surely once they had delivered the baby they had a perfect opportunity to remove the tumour? Why leave it, close her up again and treat it with radiotherapy? It doesn’t sound like the most efficient plan. Now she has had the baby they can also switch to a far stronger type of chemo too.

I think the doctor said they couldn't do the hysterectomy at the same time as the C section because the tumor was too big.
I fear Sally is not out of the woods, even with Duncan confessing it will take a while to get her out. she's likely to be shanked/ attacked in the meantime.

Why did Amy need Liz to bring her to school? And when did Liz get a car? Ridiculous as it would be I was hoping it was Sally at the door last night.

I thought that was a bit odd with Amy too, doesn't she normally just get the bus as they show her there sometimes with the various other children her age.

That dark red lipstick did not suit her. And the "talking to the baby" from both of them, could have been very moving, but instead it veered towards mawkishness.

I enjoyed the sally stuff. My prediction was right - yay!

I feel this way about the whole Sinead/Daniel storyline to be honest. When Hayley had cancer I found that storyline so moving and genuinely upsetting at times. I know it sounds callous but I don't really feel anything for Sinead or Daniel because they're both so two dimensional as characters and the acting/writing has been so poor.

As Dev mentioned condoms in his sons room, I'm guessing we're going towards an Amy pregnancy (because when tracy found out she had a crush on him after finding stuff on phone). I hope not because it has been done before (once with Sarah and once with Faye Windass).

Yes, it's not so long since I had a baby in NICU, so it was quite an impressively crap effort from Coronation Street to produce that scene that didn't even make my lip quiver!

Yeah, the condoms have to be relevant. We've never seen Adi with a girlfriend so I'm thinking Amy or Summer will be pregnant (because of course, Adi can only date someone from his street, that's the CS rule).

Maybe it's not a girlfriend at all.

Now that would be an interesting storyline.

I hope it’s not another teen pregnancy. They are taking the piss with churning out the same 3 or 4 stories over and over

I would quite like to see a teenager not go through the same tired storyline of teen pregnancy, I just think it is lazy writing as it is repeated a lot. I also didn't really see Amy as being overly interested in boys either, and I like her mature relationship with Adam when they show it, writing the parenting/relationship contract together was great.

I agree. They haven’t written sinead as a likeable character. She has no personality aside from that permanent drawling whingeing. She never smiles. Hayley was in everyone’s heart. She was well written and loved. Fantastic personality.
