Watching not watchy.

Orchiddingme · 11/11/2018 20:44

I think this was inevitable- this was Strictly's way of solving it without actually confronting the real issue- like Seann and Katya. It's a backhanded way of getting them out when they are causing trouble.

Orchiddingme · 11/11/2018 20:45

I also thought their smiles were plastered on, not very real. Poor Amy- she looked relieved to me, not crying because she wasn't going to Blackpool.

digerd · 11/11/2018 20:45

Craig was right that Danny is the more accomplished dancer but Graeme was more entertaining. However, I thought Graeme had a face like thunder after Craig's decision and was sure Danny would go through.

derxa · 11/11/2018 20:48

I thought Shirley would save him. She's all about the media and concerned about her own popularity.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 11/11/2018 20:49

Totally agree with this orchid

dameofdilemma · 11/11/2018 20:50

I feel like I'm in Groundhog Day.
Ashley and Faye top scorers again.
Ashley pretends to be surprised again.
Faye finds some reason to well up with tears in her video again.
Twitter flooded with attacks on a contestant again.
Everyone treats it as absolute fact again and votes accordingly.

If it wasn't for the Dooley girl I'd have given up by now. Have remembered why I gave SCD a miss for a few years.

MsMarple · 11/11/2018 20:50

All the DJJ stuff in the media has been really uncomfortable - it really was as if the minute Seann left, they turned to their next victim. You could almost feel the public-manipulation cogs turning.

He's a lot older than the other contestants, and has a wife and young children - both very good reasons not to be out drinking with the other contestants!

xsquared · 11/11/2018 20:51

I didn't want either of them to go to be honest but I think Graeme would get more out of being in Blackpool than Danny.

I don't get how some people seem to be so certain about the bullying allegations, made by the tabloids, to justify the unpleasant comments about DJJ.

Bowchicawowow · 11/11/2018 20:53

It is frightening how so many people swallow the right wing press of The S*N and the DM.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 11/11/2018 20:54

I missed all the bullying stuff in the papers but I have read his comments on Twitter from a couple of years ago and they aren’t the utterings of a nice man. He was very rude about Bruno and Craig’s abilities, which coming from a fairly unremarkable actor (despite his own opinion of himself) is a bit rich.

SoupDragon · 11/11/2018 20:54

I find it interesting that people are happy to take the bullying reports as gospel but not the report where it was explained as a minor disagreement and that there was no sort of "final warning" nonsense at all.

Bowchicawowow · 11/11/2018 20:56

DDJ is an excellent actor.

MyMumDimensionJumps · 11/11/2018 20:56

*Does that look like a bully and his victim to anyone...?

Yes it did to me.*

So you believe the Sun newspaper and other shit tabloids over the actual people they are reporting about?

In two weeks there will be another bullshit story about all the women left in the competition bitching about each other no doubt, as that's apparently what women do when they are in competition, according to the tabloids. Unless someone else hasn't split up with their partner first....

When DJJ was talking about there being no celebrities in the show, I think it was from the perspective that 30 years ago, most of the people in the show would not be deemed celebrities and probably just entertainers, as he also identified himself. Celebrities were people who had been on our screens every Saturday night for 15 years or so, before being deemed a celebrity. A 58 year old would probably want to go home to his kids after 14 hours of training on a knee replacement, rather than socialise.

Anyway, I think I will root for Charles and Stacey now. I like Ashley, but it's like watching one of the pro's.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 11/11/2018 20:57

What does Dan Wootton have to say on the subject? His sources are usually pretty good.

VerbeenaBeeks · 11/11/2018 21:00

He was in a shit comedy more than two decades ago

That made me LOL. Are you referring to Red Dwarf? It's still going strong! The last series was last year and still has a massive following.
So ummmm... if you say so lol.

VerbeenaBeeks · 11/11/2018 21:02

Same, there was an article with Amy saying things were intense last week but she in no way ever felt threatened or bullied by him.
Sounds to me like that they'd been arguing but who honestly never argues? Doesn't automatically mean bullying, especially if the person you're so called bullying says he wasn't at all.

MyNameIsJane · 11/11/2018 21:04

I thought DJJ was really gracious on the result and very kind to Amy. I’m sad to see him go.

Samcro · 11/11/2018 21:05

I voted for danny, the only place i have read anything bad about him has been on here.
And mn is not always right.
Glad graham got through, voted for him too

Enigmam · 11/11/2018 21:08

I'm not surprised that she was crying. Imagine all that hard work you've both been putting in week after week, for it all to be pulled apart by those trashy newspapers.

Ontheboardwalk · 11/11/2018 21:08

To me Amy seemed uncomfortable and grabbed his hand to hold when he was rubbing it up and down her arm.

Glad Charles wasn’t in the DO

How very dare you!

EleanorLavish · 11/11/2018 21:11

Danny made a very big error in his dance off dance. A big error. Before that I thought he was improved on the night before, not so ‘spikey’ As Craig said.
However, once he made that big error I was hoping Graeme would make one too. He only had small mistakes that I could see? Happy to be corrected.
It’s a shame, as Danny was the better dancer IMO. I think the ‘bullying’ claims are awful. They obviously had a heated argument and said a few things they regretted, but I’d say that was far from the first time that’s happened on SCD.

Bowchicawowow · 11/11/2018 21:12

Now we have an allegation that DDJ was touching Amy inappropriately courtesy of Ontheboardwalk
