Is anyone still watching Grey’s? I thought the opener was supposed to be a two parter but looks like sky witness is only showing one. Grrr. Anyone else excited? I still miss Cristina etc but will always watch!

Jennifer still has the same hair style... [Smile]
I don't like Teddy or Tom. I haven't enjoyed Meredith dithering between the two guys or Owen dithering between Teddy and Amelia.
Grey's has been going downhill for a few seasons and this one isn't great, I don't think.

I don’t think Meredith is meant to be as old as Ellen Pompeo is either. Ellen was 35 when Meredith was an intern in series 1, so she was playing someone at least 10 years younger

Medicine in the US is postgraduate, so 4 years for degree + 5 years for medicine, Meredith was at least 27 when the series started. And I think she was meant to have taken some time out to go travelling in Europe as well, so she’s not a massive amount younger than Ellen Pompeo.

Dyingforchocolate · 10/03/2019 21:31

Jumping in, sorry everyone!

I can't believe she is 50!!
I think on the whole it's no where near as good as it used to be, but the wedding under the stars did make me sob like greys used to! I'm glad Bailey & Ben are back together too.

Wrongdissection · 11/03/2019 07:40

I still love Grey’s And I’ll stick to it until the bitter end. However my daughter is watching it for the first time from the beginning and man I miss Cristina.

Dyingforchocolate · 17/03/2019 08:09

Me too Wrongdissection
I really miss Christina, I'm actually a bit jealous of anyone watching it from the start because I would love to watch it all again and not know what happened!

mnahmnah · 17/03/2019 17:58

I might watch them from the start again, just for Christina! Never been the same since she left

SgtFredColon · 18/03/2019 01:21

Meredith is supposed to be around 40 I think. They were mid twenties at the start and she was supposed to be a few years younger than Derek. So she’d have been 36 getting pregnant with Ellis?

No idea what age Teddy is supposed to be though.

Dyingforchocolate · 19/03/2019 09:26

I think I forget how long it has been on for, so forget how old they are meant to be. Because I only started watching it about 2 years ago I forget it's actually been on for years!

Grace212 · 23/03/2019 19:48

really enjoyed this week's episode

actually thought I saw the actress playing Teddy on the Tube yesterday - seems unlikely though!

Grace212 · 23/03/2019 19:50

I'll always miss Cristina and was a bit shocked to hear Alex referred to as Mer's best friend! I suppose because Cristina is her person?

Papergirl1968 · 24/03/2019 22:28

I'm one episode behind but who had Meredith's kids during the marathon surgery and then her nap on the trolley - surely the hospital crèche isn't open 24/7?!
Finally Alex is growing on me. I used to think he was arrogant and shallow but I'm warming to him slightly. It's only taken however many years Grin

oldowlgirl · 25/03/2019 00:03

Alex is a great example of a character who has matured over the years & I really like him now too.

I assumed the crèche was open 24/7 given the nature of hospital shifts, although also think that likely the writers have forgotten about the kids as they're generally not mentioned Grin

Imfinehowareyou · 25/03/2019 09:02

OMG - Owen was Tommy in Trainspotting?!! How have I never realised this? Of course. I knew I knew him from somewhere Grin
Meredith mentions a babysitter every now and again.
This series is so boring. I hate how they have made Alex a jokey character.

Tunnockswafer · 25/03/2019 09:08

I love Owen but he really deserved that punch last night.

I think Owen is a great character but I don't "like" him

he seems to damage everyone and going wrong with his best mate was the icing on the cake.

I am enjoying the series - quite light touch on everything at the moment, plenty of humour. I always liked Amelia. I don't know where they are headed though. I get the sense that they don't know themselves - maybe they are waiting to see which actors want to renew contracts etc.

I like the fact we hardly see the kids. I don't care where they are as long as they are not boring me and I can focus on the adults!

BrieAndChilli · 25/03/2019 11:40

im sure that meredith has a nanny of some sort.

Grace212 · 25/03/2019 11:43

Brie yes because the nanny had to wait about 6 hours before even seeing Mer for interview!

ShadowMane · 25/03/2019 11:47

Finally Alex is growing on me. I used to think he was arrogant and shallow but I'm warming to him slightly. It's only taken however many years grin But he was an arse, total and complete arse in the start (rewatching for the umpteenth time) so his character growth has been really .... good to watch

oldowlgirl · 25/03/2019 18:13

@FrancisCrawford I didn't like Amelia either but then I watched Private Practice & have liked her since then - appreciate her character a lot more (with the drug addiction & losing her baby).

I agree about not wanting to see Meredith's kids but I would like it acknowledged how hard it is to be a full time working single mum, especially as a surgeon - so having a live-in nanny (or something along those lines) would make me happy Smile

Loopytiles · 25/03/2019 19:38

Still dip in from time to time. Really enjoyed the recent episode with Katharine’s party thrown by Jackson, especially Karev’s mum knitting, and Bailey and Katharine in the limo talking about mortality.

Imfinehowareyou · 25/03/2019 22:44

I loved that Bailey's treat to herself was a posh blender!
