Anyone else ready to get back to focusing on the dancing??

Morning all

Agree generally about that being a lacklustre week, but I think that’s not uncommon. I seem to recall odd weeks every series. I’m glad I didn’t stay in and make an evening of it this week!

Whilst I dont have any sympathy of Sean(n) on a personal level, I did think it was rather unfair of Katya to go and stand with Neil in Claud 9 and leave him on his own like a numpty in the middle of the crowd. This was before they danced. Smacked of self preservation. I think they could have gone far but it was based on the relationship they were forming/ the fun they were having - now that’s been tainted I don’t think there’s enough talent to see them through.

Didn’t like Faye’s fake tan, she looked well and truly ronsealed.

I’m happy to hear that Carlton banks will be the guest judge, he’s fun and doesn’t take himself too seriously I don’t think

Difficult though isn't it? I imagine they're trying to appear normal - and it's not normal for the dancers and their partners to stand next to each other without touching while they're listening to the judges. That would just look really awkward and highlight what had gone on. Especially when they have such close contact during the dance anyway.

It's a rather difficult situation and the best thing they can do is behave like nothing has happened. Also wee don't know Neil. If it's true that he and Katya have an open marriage then it could be his fault as well for letting things slip too far.

I imagine that his real name is Sean, but both Sean and Walsh are incredibly common Irish names so there are probably tens of thousands of them, to avoid confusion because he's on the stage he uses Seann. When his ex girlfriend tweeted about their break up she used Sean(n), either to cover both the real and stage name or to imply that he was a pretentious twat to use an irregular spelling, I'm not sure which.

And of course, on MN, the least sarcastic and totally most unjudgemental of sites, he also gets Seannnnnn and Snean.

I only watch for the "Apres Strictly" these days (ie the thread comments, which remain insightful and hilarious - MN takes no prisoners)

You could say the same of Sean(n) and Rebecca given he claims to have split up with her before the kiss. Although wasn’t she in the audience on the Saturday?

On Claud 9 she said something like there being lots going on “up here” (his face) but not a lot down here (legs and feet)

I'm in the camp that isn't especially outraged about the kiss (it's their private lives, I don't know them so why would I care), but he was quite irriating last night and I find his character annoying generally.

While I admire her, I also think Katie is really wet and her dancing is terrible. The judges are clearly pussyfooting around her and I hope she's out soon.

Kate was also disappoiting last night - she seems quite weak at latin so I predict she'll be out perhaps midway through the series.

I got the impression that it didn’t come out quite as she meant it to.

Just catching up, internet went silly last night so couldn’t comment.
Was underwhelmed with all the dances & judges seemed to overmark a lot of them, definitely a lack lustre week.

I was wrong, BBC did hold Sean & Katya until the end of the programme! I thought their dance was a bit manic and messy, he didn't seem to have much swivel and it seemed to be 'let's chuck loads of tricks in as a distraction'. Not bad overall, he needs to do a proper straight ballroom dance though, one he can't act the clown in or throw loads of tricks in.

I am getting a bit fed up with how some of them are turning all ballroom dances into the American Smooth, Kevin and Stacey were particularly guilty of this this week as Craig noted. Ballroom dances are meant to be danced in hold, time for them to be marked down if they keep doing faffy bits outside of hold.

Like others I thought this week fell flat, it all felt a bit lacklustre, maybe that was because Movie Week was so much better than it usually is.

Loved that vid Goosey and Bruno is consistently Bruno on DWTS isn't he?

As for the article...methinks the extra n in Sean really stands for knob

@DrinkFeckArseGirls The dance off was recorded last night, after the lines closed at 855pm. The dance off isn't live. You can see who went out if you Google it (can't post the result here though)
