Anyone watching?

It’s already annoying me. Maggie is no more pregnant.... so it’s been a couple of weeks max then? Unless she’s had the baby?

Yes I'm not sure if that was completely awesome or completely ridiculous! The tenseness was good reminded me of the early episodes but...

Was annoying me how Rick didn't just get the horse to gallop! The walkers don't move fast and the horse seemed to stay and wait for Rick and walk along calmly then all of a sudden galloped away at the end! And would Rick really have survived that blast? I wasn't sure if that was another of his "dreams" and he wasn't there but the reaction of the others implies he was.

Wtf is the A and B - total opposite of what you would think then?

And was Negan playing Maggie?

Agree the Judith thing was cheesy and how are there still so many walkers?!

Hmmm I'll sleep on it to gather my thoughts I'm not sure really what I thought!

StormyLovesOdd · 05/11/2018 23:28

I like the idea of a time jump, TWD has been getting very stale and loosing Rick and doing the time jump / introducing new characters gives the show a reset button to reinvent some of the storylines

StripySocksAndDocs · 05/11/2018 23:29

I got the idea he was in too much pain to gallop. Tried briefly but had to stop.

Can you all help me out. On the Talking Dead they were talking about the end codeco or codaco so something along those lines. What was it, and what is it?!

glowfrog · 06/11/2018 12:06

Mostly loved the episode, although annoyed we didn't see Glenn and also cried buckets when the bridge blew up.

Really not sure about the time jump, if only because it feels like surely after nearly 10 years the zombies should be all rotted away??

I have to say, I am not entirely convinced that Negan wasn't playing Maggie but that being said, being locked up in solitary for a year and a half - I think it would make a lot of people suicidal. Trouble is, we don't actually know much about Negan, and it would help understand this new turn if we knew more about how he came to be that way.

Is it wrong of me to wonder how there are any overweight people left ? 😁

glowfrog · 06/11/2018 12:11

Also, Judith: sorry, but I don't think it's possible for an 8 year-old to be able to fire such a huge gun, and on top of that to be so accurate she wouldn't kill or hurt the live people. The recoil on such a weapon must be a bitch.

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/11/2018 13:22

Bloody hell

My prediction on walking dead was right !!

PeppermintPasty · 06/11/2018 13:41

So, help me please fellow fans. I'm confused by Rick's departure...are we to assume that the Whisperers (I assume it's them?) will basically take him so far away somewhere and/or keep him a prisoner that he won't be able to get back to the gang? Is that how the producers are thinking?

Because there is no way he would willingly stay away from Judith and Michonne etc, assuming he lives.
It's bugging me. Sigh.
Good episode though.

glowfrog · 06/11/2018 13:52

The Whisperers are supposed to be anti-civilisation so it's hard to imagine them flying around in helicopters. But talks of As and Bs sound a bit like them.

Maybe the helicopter people run experiments or work camps or both... There has to be a reason why Jadis didn't simply stay with them in the first place.

I agree that nothing could keep Rick away from his family so he will have to be kept prisonner and/or very far away...

I have a lot of mixed feelings about it all but at least I am intrigued again.

All want to know is whether Daryl will have finally cut his hair.

Magair · 06/11/2018 14:30

Said the same to DH, all the films will just be about him being miserable trying to get back to the others.

UNLESS they take him to the UK (which would suit Andrew Lincoln) and we have TWD: London edition!

Well that was an emotional episode! I was feeling really grumpy that Rick was leaving and was hoping that it would be another Glenn tactic where we all think he's going to die and then he doesn't.
Cried bucket loads on the bridge scene, and all the eye contact between Rick and Daryl but not sure about the ending. Really pleased that Rick is alive, and hoped he'd be picked up with the helicopter but disappointed to hear that he won't be joining the group again this season. Maybe in the future? Glad we'll find out, but surely the WD has always been his story, and in the past if someone has gone (Beth etc) we always follow both.
It did need a shake up but not sure about the extreme time jump, I want to see the aftermath of the group thinking Rick is dead. Also, that new group seemed really inexperienced but in reality they would have grown up in this world so should be much more savey. On the whole was a great episode and keen to watch again next week, whereas I was thinking I'd stop if Rick dies!

BeyondVicious · 06/11/2018 14:39

I'd like to take a bow here, I said ages back that they'd give Judith Carl's storyline - as he was too old for it Grin

BeyondVicious · 06/11/2018 14:40

Rick unimpaling himself from the rebar and galloping off on a horse was possibly the most ridiculous thing this series though...

BeyondVicious · 06/11/2018 14:42

(and as Judith is dead in the books)

raisinsraisins · 06/11/2018 15:54

I really enjoyed it - made me wish the last few seasons were like this.

Agree that I thought that Negan was playing Maggie, but this just illustrates the poor characters and storyline of the last few seasons that we don’t really know who Negan is.

Thought that Rick could have just covered himself with zombie blood and blended in with the walkers, or does this not work any more?

PeppermintPasty · 06/11/2018 15:57

Yes, the Judith thing must partly be because of the backlash about them killing off Carl, I think they were taken by surprise, I mean I'm sure they knew people would be upset, but not as much as they have been, me included!!

Thanks for the thoughts on Rick's future. Basically, it's all up for grabs!!

glowfrog · 06/11/2018 16:06

@raisinsraisins I wouldn't have done that in his state - zombie virus could have got into his body via his injury (mind you, he must be riddled with infection after being impaled and picking up some random but
Of cloth for his wound). Also I don't think he had much of an opportunity to do it.

glowfrog · 06/11/2018 16:09

@BeyondVicious well, in the comics There is a time jump and Carl goes off to be a blacksmith apprentice at the Hilltop so carrying on with Carl would have been ok. I mean, we've all been squinting and pretending Carl's super fast ageing was totally normal for the last 8 years anyway, so I don't think it would have been an issue. Judith on the other hand is too young for his storyline at the moment anyway.

DrMidgeryMargery · 06/11/2018 16:11

Ooh so many good points. I particularly liked that yes, if Judith is around 10, a lot of the walkers would surely have completely rotted away? And yeah, the new gang would have been brought up in the zombie world and should have been better at handling them than they seemed. Top marks to Combination and Glowfrog 😁

I watched it again this morning (saddo that I am) and it improved on a second watch.

The questions I still have are whether that’s the end for Jadis, probs not as nothing has been made of Pollyanna Mackintosh leaving, and surely the other group would have seen that helicopter landing as it can’t have been that far away?

I’m still annoyed about the timejump because it means we’ll miss out on the aftermath of Rick’s leaving. Although I suppose they can do flashbacks. Bloody hell, pick a timeline and stick to it, I can’t keep everything straight!

Andylion · 06/11/2018 17:57

surely the other group would have seen that helicopter landing as it can’t have been that far away?

I've not really been paying attention and been watching while playing on my ipad so I have to ask about the helicopters. Has no-one else seen or heard them?

cushioncovers · 06/11/2018 18:49

If Rick is a B who's an A?

I think people would die at all different times so new walkers would be springing up constantly.

Daryls face when the bridge exploded

glowfrog · 06/11/2018 19:06

@Andylion I believe others have seen them, yes, but they've never made a fuss or talked about it.

In terms of noticing the one that picked up Jadis and Rick, it's possible that with the explosion and zombies and general upset they wouldn't have noticed it...

I don't think Judith is 10, she looks more like 7 or 8 to me.

I'm hoping Michonne was pregnant when Rick disappeared 😁

I thought that group was doing really well given their lack of proper weapons, and we don't know how they ended up in that field. Plus maybe they come from somewhere like Alexandria was when Rick's group found them.

glowfrog · 06/11/2018 19:08

@cushioncovers maybe Rick is a B because he's injured, or maybe she called him a B to protect him?

Kitsandkids · 06/11/2018 19:27

I loved the episode. But, I was confused. Jadis was told she’d have to have an A and there’d be consequences if she didn’t and I’m sure it implied they would leave her there without an A. But she told them she had a B and they took her and him anyway. And when she was talking to the vicar she said ‘I thought you were a B but you were an A all along’ (or words to that effect). I thought she meant she hadn’t thought he was an alpha guy but when he stood up to her she decided he was. But Rick is alpha I would say. But she called him B.

glowfrog · 06/11/2018 20:05

I also don't get what she was playing at when she tied him up and was going to let a zombie loose on him. Easier ways to kill him, surely.

Maybe once they'd bothered to make the trip they decided they may as well take him?

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/11/2018 21:05

AM confused with a and b

Who is what and why does helicopter people want them

I hope mixhonne is preg with his. ANy

I said the other week when rick said about better ways to increase populations then had sex

Daryl looks same age and filthy in the older JUDITH scenes

Tho if 10yrs ish after first outbreak why are there still so many zomblies
