Oti admitted in an interview recently that while she does "look", she still thinks her man is hotter. She seems very happy with Marius.

neil can chill on a rock Grin bless his little pink bum

MozzieMagnet · 10/10/2018 01:35

Ooh magenta thx. Curious. Still watch Misty Blue. He was robbed but she shouldn't have made changes to the QS in the final. Think that tripped him up rather than choking on the night.

• Stacey and Kevin will dance a Foxtrot to ‘Hi Ho Silver Lining’ by Jeff Beck
• Vick and Graziano will Quickstep to ‘Can’t Hurry Love’ by Diana Ross and the Supremes

Bangers - Taytay, Los Lobos (they could have used that last week: it was in Desperado when Antonio was scorchio)

Squibs - Hi Ho silver lining for a foxtrot....why? Also I love Toto but a samba? I must be thick as mince, I had that one for my fantasy rumba. It will be interesting

Bills is a decent tune (was also used for the pros Blackpool Downton Abbey number). Will it be enough to save (n)?! Will they be left to dance last for viewing figures, will they open the show or will they have to follow Katie and Gorka? Wink

covetingthepreciousthings · 10/10/2018 07:05

Watching Danny Mac dances is my guilty pleasure Blush Whenever there's nothing on tv, we put them on. We do sometimes mix in some other favourites.. but generally always Danny Mac!
He was as good as a pro to watch.

Just turned Bbc Breakfast on and they are still talking about it Confused

knottyhair · 10/10/2018 08:00

Long time lurker here. Just popping on to say that if Sean(n) had been accused of any other type of abuse, there is no way they would keep him on the show. By keeping him in, they are totally minimising what he has been accused of doing. So for me the issue is not the snogging (although that is pretty shitty on the part of both of them) but the part in Rebecca's statement where she clearly talks about gaslighting. This is why he should stand down. And if he won't, the BBC need to make a stand and chuck him out. And I was a big fan of his until this week.

mydogisthebest · 10/10/2018 08:33

knottyhair, his girlfriend may well be telling the truth but she may well not. None of us, except her and Seann know do we?

Unless the BBC have become Judge and jury there is no way they should get rid of him. Innocent until proven guilty.

All we and the BBC know is that a guy with a long term girlfriend snogged a married woman. We don't know that they did any more than that do we? Yes, that is bad enough and yes if it were my DH he would be out BUT I would not expect him to get sacked from his job nor would I expect him to be torn to shreds by the press and many tv people.

There are TEN stories about Seann in today's Mail. Is that not over the top? He is an idiot not a murderer. Katya has come off much lighter and yet she is the married one!

Mummyundecided · 10/10/2018 08:39

Completely agree mydogisthebest. The media have gone way over the top when you look at what we actually know happened.
All grist to the mill though - what’s the betting viewing figures will go up? I wouldn’t even be surprised if they survive the vote.

MrsJayy · 10/10/2018 08:47

I agree with pp, all we know is he was dumped because he snogged a married woman.Seann Walsh being a liar and a sleaze bag doesn't make him a long term abuser of Rebecca Humphries because we have no clue, this story has grown arms and if I was him I would withdraw from theprogramme but I think they are just going to brazen it out.

PurpleOctober · 10/10/2018 08:52

If the BBC axed him they would be acknowledging Rebecca's statement as true, when really none of us know how true it really is. That could open them up to possible litigation from (n)

Mummyundecided · 10/10/2018 08:56

FWIW, I actually believe Rebecca Humphries, but I also believe that people shouldn’t be persecuted on one person’s say so. And the media’s reaction is completely disproportionate. It’s because they’ve got evidence of cheating at last, all those other affairs that they can only allege happened while x was married. They’re rubbing their hands with glee. Seann has ruined his relationship by cheating, but the media seem out to completely destroy him. Most people wouldn’t experience this if they’d cheated.

knottyhair · 10/10/2018 09:05

But my point stands, he's still been accused of being abusive. If the accusation was one of physical abuse, I don't believe the BBC would keep him in the show, "innocent until proven guilty" or not. That's my point. I don't see how the presenters can have those innane light-hearted chats with him after Rebecca's statement. The mere fact that he hasn't stood down speaks volumes about the sort of person he is. Why would you want to carry on after this? I just hope the public show their feelings about it by not voting for him. And mydog, what has being married got to do with it?? They were both in long term relationships and he is getting vilified more because he's accused of abusive behaviour. Quite right too. The downplaying of his alleged behaviour on this thread is quite worrying to be honest. No, the accusations aren't proven but they have still been made. It's like some people on here don't understand the serious of them.

PurpleOctober · 10/10/2018 09:10

@knottyhairhe if he was charged with physical abuse yes he would almost definitely be removed. But he hasn't been charged with anything - I'm not sure if you can charge someone for gaslighting.

I also don't think calling someone a psycho is in the same league as physically abusing someone - 99% of cheats call their partner something similar if they cotton on to the cheating. It makes him a prock, but it doesn't necessarily mean he's an abuser.

Mummyundecided · 10/10/2018 09:12

Has Rebecca Humphries gone to the police? Because coercive control is a crime.
Perhaps he did try to leave, perhaps the BBC said no way, you’d be breaking your contract. Perhaps they wanted him to go and he said no. The point is we don’t know. We have photos of two people snogging, both of whom were in relationships. We have a statement from Rebecca. We have nothing else to go on.
I’m in no way minimising gaslighting, but surely actual evidence needs to be provided?

PurpleOctober · 10/10/2018 09:15

The police are unlikely to waste their time on a couple's squabble - sometimes they can't even take physical or sexual abuse further due to lack of evidence. It's her word against his, especially as he could just say she's saying this to get back at him after he kissed another woman.

Inkanta · 10/10/2018 09:15

'The downplaying of his alleged behaviour on this thread is quite worrying to be honest.'

Yes I agree.

He's obviously not wanting to step down and if he had I think the press might lay off him. If nothing else we do know he didn't apologise to his long term girlfriend who was in the audience emotionally cheering him on. It all smacks of great arrogance on his part and I think this is why the press are on to him.

Mummyundecided · 10/10/2018 09:17

Are you kidding me? That’s why the press are onto him? Not at all! They’re onto him because it’s a good story and they can make money off the back of it. The print media wrote the bloody manual on gaslighting.

Inkanta · 10/10/2018 09:22

No I am not kidding you! It's a good story yes. but his arrogance and the fact that he won't step down is fuelling it.

Why are you defending him Mummyundecided He's no victim.

Mummyundecided · 10/10/2018 09:31

I’m not defending him. I’ve already said I believe her.
But I also believe in innocent until proven guilty. Evidence, not just her word against his (which we haven’t even had on this point). If we turn this into a witchunt against him, with no evidence, we could make him seem the victim.
The idea of the tabloid media as some sort of well meaning justice pursuing collective entity is laughable. They treat people, celebs and us ordinary folk, as commodities. They are cutthroat. Sales and advertising revenue are their drivers.

knottyhair · 10/10/2018 09:38

purple as I've said before, if he had been accused of (not charged with) physical abuse, the BBC would have undoubtedly got rid of him. Also Rebecca said "he aggressively & repeatedly called me a psycho/nuts/mental, as he had done countless times throughout our relationship". Sorry but how is this not abusive?? Really?? And "a couple's squabble"? More minimisation. Innocent until proven guilty is all very well but the BBC's lack of action and silence on this could be quite damaging . I love Strictly and will continue to watch because of the 12 other contestants but it will be extremely uncomfortable viewing when it comes down to Sean(n).

Collywobbles1984 · 10/10/2018 09:39

Sean(n) won't stand down because he knows after this his career will be in tatters and he needs the full amount given to him by the BBC for doing the show, if he stood down he'd only get a small percentage. As for the public vote, I imagine people will vote to keep him in so that they can watch him and Katya squirm live on tv each week!

Inkanta · 10/10/2018 09:40

'But I also believe in innocent until proven guilty.'

This phrase keeps being used but we all saw the long elongated soppy kiss with Katya. That was enough to step down from the show. He has chosen not to. People step down all the time for different reasons. I don't believe the BBC are persuading him to stay. I think he's arrogant and he didn't apologise to his girlfriend.

Inkanta · 10/10/2018 09:43

'BBC's lack of action and silence on this could be quite damaging . I love Strictly and will continue to watch because of the 12 other contestants but it will be extremely uncomfortable viewing when it comes down to Sean(n).'

Yes. I will probably give it a miss on Saturday.
