Was Flavia married? Was Pasha married? Was Kristina married? Was Giovanni married? I don't think either of them were. I may be wrong though, I can check. But I'm pretty sure I'm right.

Forgot about Brendan. He was engaged. But anyway, none of these couples were caught on camera snogging. Next Saturday is going to be interesting....

Just because there was never any photos printed in the Press doesn't mean relationships were not formed way before we(partners) found out about it.
It will always go on and tbh I think Strictly plays on the fact it could happen with any of the dance partners-I mean it's every year isn't it?
Katya and Sean(n) just got caught out early.

Flavia was in a very long term relationship with her professional dance partner Vincent, and she had an affair with her celeb partner Matt Di Angelo.

Pasha wasn't married, but Rachel Riley left her husband shortly after Strictly and started dating Pasha - they say the romance didn't start until after her marriage ended, but they all say that don't they?

Ben Cohen also left his wife for Kristina and Kristina was kept on the show (and it wasn't the first time for her either) Why should Katya be sacked when others have done similar things? Because she's married? Last time I checked, this was 2018 and adultery isn't illegal or a sackable offence. She isn't a teacher training school kids, they're all adults and while adultery isn't a moral thing to do, it's really none of our business what they're doing in their spare time.

That was a killer statement from Rebecca, made them both look grubby and Sean, in particular, quite nasty.

If he had a shred of decency in him he would withdraw but of course he would lose money if he did which is why I think he hasn't.

I think the difference with others who have had affairs/romances and why they didn't face such opprobrium is the way they conducted themselves, none of the others had the sleazy whiff this has.

You are right Going none of those you mentioned were married - Brendan and Flavia were in long term relationships with other dancers (Brendan was engaged I think). Pascha, Kristina and Giovanni were neither married nor in long term relationships, however, their partners were. Rachel Riley was married, now divorced and with Pascha, Joe Calzaghe was in a long term relationship but apparently split up before the show and then dated Kristina afterwards, Ben Cohen was married, now divorced and married to Kristina, Georgia May Foote split with her boyfriend mid show and then went out with Giovanni for a while.

Brendan did take a fair bit of flak over the way he treated Camilla Dallerup.

No, Camilla stayed on the show retiring years later when she won it with Tom Chambers (and then came back to help with the choreography). Brendan and Natasha were the winners of the first series!

Just before Strictly started I read an article that said a number of the well known stars/celebrities the BBC approached and asked to appear on the show refused due to the reputation of the 'Strictly Curse' and the resultant media scrutiny. No idea if that is true but if there is even a grain of truth in it this debacle certainly isn't going to help and the BBC need some well known 'names' in the programme to sell it.

I agree, I think it would be very unfair for Katya to be sacked.

It was very irresponsible of both of them however and morally wrong. I really do feel for both their partners who had been supporting them.

It's such a painful thing to happen and to have it all happen so publicly is horrible.

I definitely will be tuning in to watch the awkwardness! They have done the deed so now they have to deal with the aftermath!

I think I just feel for all involved actually!

I’ve been listening to Emma Bunton on Heart this week and she’s (quite rightly) outraged - by the half-hearted apology and his behaviour and the fact that people think it’s inevitable that you will have an affair just because you’re on Strictly.
