I used to like the way it was in the beginning with half of them doing the same ballroom and the other half doing the same latin. As it is now people, even quite good people, often go out on a samba or a rumba because they are less appealing dances

Oh YESSSS. It was easier to make a comparison too, so a non dancer like me could see who had a bit more talent. And left some of the more exciting dances until later. Bring back the Cha-cha and Waltz Dance Off.

And regarding the music, I reckon you get more votes if more people know and like the music. As simple as that.

ref. the OLD way. Now the marking will weed out the bad dancers because they all have to do a variety of dances and if you're good at them all then you should get good marks.

Though it seems to me, especially going by the last fiasco, that the winner was picked because one of the judges fancied him and he had a good prof. pushing him. Talent wasn't in it.

I think Joe won because there was still a lot of goodwill towards Katya re Ed Balls, both Alex and Debbie were higher-profile ringers - the former particularly marmite to some, Susan had already been knocked out, Gemma just wasn't good enough...Joe was a decent compromise, had a few memorable dances and played the decent-humble guy schtick/good press I am sure Alex was not protected to the same degree
He wasn't my winner, his tango was a trainwreck.
Do any of them win on talent alone? They learn 1 minute 40 seconds of steps from one week to the next and repeat.

I liked Joe

I liked his quickstep. He suited his Dr Zhivago tache. And full credit for pulling off that samba.
The nice guy persona is not a reason I would have voted though.
But I am a cynical, sceptical cah!

I didn't NOT like Joe Mrsjayy but as Mozzie said I think he he was just a bit 'meh' not the best dancer, he was also a ringah.

Anyone see The New Joe on IT2 ? Now he has some talent! (esp. if he has really never danced before)

The other Joes grandma was a ballroom dancer bet she gave him lessons as a kid.

Joe was a worthy winner out of the 4 finalists last year. Debbie and Alex were never going to win and Gemma just wasn't good enough.

Anyway, looking forward to tomorrow. By the way things are going, I wouldn't be surprised if we see a dance off between Susannah and Vicky. I really want Vicky to do well, but the training video on ITT wasn't great.

I agree Susannah and Vick in the dance off is looking likely, Vick isn't well known enough to get through on loyal fans alone so unless she pulls off an amazing dance tomorrow I don't think she'll get be votes. I agree her training video didn't look too promising.

I don’t trust that nice-guy persona of Joe’s as far as I could throw him. I was really disappointed when he won - all that humble journey schtick when he was just as ringer-y as the rest of them.

You see, I didn’t buy the lovely, normal Gemma persona she was meant to have. People have Alex so much stick for being fake but Gemma seems so smug.

I didn't really take to Joe (or Gemma in fact - overhyped) last year although Katya is fabulous. Loved Alex and Debbie. Some less than complimentary stuff came out afterwards on Twitter re. Joe but it seems to have been scrubbed from the internet so I have no source. Also heard he was a bit of an diva on the tour

I really enjoyed Vick and Graziano's segment. Shame their Jive didn't quite pay off. Graziano seems like a sweetheart. I wish they'd lay off the Italian Stallion schtick, it's tiresome. I hope they stay in and improve.

AJ and Lauren/ Stacey and Kevin v. entertaining too

I often find Kevin and AJ a bit too much but I'm enjoying their partnerships this year hooray!

Blimey, Susannah is a whinger. The VT of her in training on tonight’s IT2 was just her moaning about how harrrrrrd it all is. I’m sure it is difficult but at least fake a bit of enthusiasm .

Not a fan of Ashley, Faye or Katie.

Like Vick but i think she’ll go quickly. She isn’t particularly well known and has a new pro partner, so neither of them have a particularly large or well established fan base to vote for them. I think it’d be a real shame though.

Love Stacey. She seems to be loving the experience. Same with Lauren.

Boyswise. Like Graham & Cat from RD. Not interested in Joe, Charles or the blonde comedian guy.
