Apparently she called Charley the N word in a 'joking manner' whilst they were dancing and was chucked out at 3 in the morning.

Stupid, silly naive girl

lol mhamai.

Backtobasics · 07/06/2007 15:02

I think big brother would have been in deep sh*t if they had let her stay.

fortyplus · 07/06/2007 15:02

I'm part Irish mesel'

mum2sam · 07/06/2007 15:02

i think its pathetic it wasnt used in a racist context. Its written in alot of music lyrics and alot of black people use the term. Most young white people do not understand why its different for a black person to use that term and not a white person if its in a friendly, joking manner. Surely if its that offensive it shouldnt be used at all. I dont particurlarly like the word because of how its been used in the past and wouldnt use it myself but then i hear black people use it all the time.

fortyplus · 07/06/2007 15:04

She certainly deserved to be chucked out ignominiously, but I still think the Ch 4 bosses will be delighted that they've been handed this opportunity for positive publicity on a plate.

Mhamai · 07/06/2007 15:05

Ok gonna stick my neck out and say I think they should have kept her in and let them or give them as a task, to discuss, exactly how we are discussing this here, as opposed to her being thrown to the wolves and therefore people missing out on the opportunity to discuss this without uproar and maybe being eucated in the process or is this me being naive now?

plummymummy · 07/06/2007 15:06

I am incredulous that anyone can justify the use of the word by a white person to a black person. There are no excuses whatsoever. "Larking about"?? Ffs - quickest way to lose a "new found friend".

TnOgu · 07/06/2007 15:07

I think that's a great suggestion, M.

Thinking outside the box.

Through discussion and debate people can be enlightened.

Mhamai · 07/06/2007 15:08

Well it works so wonderfully well here on MN T well most of the time.

TnOgu · 07/06/2007 15:09
Hmm
UnquietDad · 07/06/2007 15:09

She'll get her norks out in "Nuts" or "loaded" and make some money. Then she'll disappear right back up her posh little arse.

TnOgu · 07/06/2007 15:10

be quiet you

plummymummy · 07/06/2007 15:10

Or come out with a trashy rap number.

Mhamai · 07/06/2007 15:11

pmsl T It's like you prempted Unquietdad's post! Rofl!

bananabump · 07/06/2007 15:11

Mhamai it's a nice idea but I think any debate between non media-schooled people that is held on TV about racism is opening a can of worms, not because I believe any of them are racist per se, but it's so easy to offend the public just by saying the wrong thing, and I don't think it's territory channel 4 wants to get into again.

They're more likely to get a bunch of celebs like Davina to discuss it amongst themselves and come to the same safe pre-approved conclusion.

I hope it won't spark more drama, because I was really just looking forward to BB throwing the lionesses another male to chew on.

UnquietDad · 07/06/2007 15:12

Oh, god, like Victoria Aitken all over again...

Mhamai · 07/06/2007 15:13

I'll start her rap.

I'm a posh totty
with no spots on my botty!
I wanted to win
but my brain is too thin

I'm airheadedly windy
but I love the new Indy.
Music that is!

LucyJones · 07/06/2007 15:15

Yes she said something she shouldn't.
Yes she's been punished fairly.
But some of the comments on this thread are not nice.

Why is it that people hate white posh people so much?

And all the ditzy, cutey, thick ones are loved.

plummymummy · 07/06/2007 15:15

Yeah but even worse than Victoria Aitken - if that's possible

Mhamai · 07/06/2007 15:16

Oops
It was tongue in cheek so to speak. No pun intended.

plummymummy · 07/06/2007 15:17

I just hate racist people. Why would I be nice about someone like that? Couldn't give a toss what social class she comes from. Punished fairly? I doubt it. What about the nationwide insult to millions of people watching?

Mhamai · 07/06/2007 15:18

Though lucy she was never likely to be shortlisted for Mastermind was she?

LucyJones · 07/06/2007 15:18

how else do you expect them to punish her?
She's ben kicked out.
Did you want a public flogging?

plummymummy · 07/06/2007 15:20

She should go to Brixton, stand in the square and announce her apology over a tannoy.

Mhamai · 07/06/2007 15:20

I actually would have preferred her to stay in and for them to discuss it but agree with banabumps sentiments re how that would not work.
