Apparently she called Charley the N word in a 'joking manner' whilst they were dancing and was chucked out at 3 in the morning.

Stupid, silly naive girl

OP posts:
TaylorsMummy · 07/06/2007 20:54

fine

plummymummy · 07/06/2007 20:55

Primarkdevil - I am now less bothered by Emily's slur than I am by your defence of it. That is what is making me really pissed off.

Chelseamum · 07/06/2007 20:55

i really dislike the playground attitude ;

" I am reporting you".... come on women grow up a tiny bit!

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 07/06/2007 20:55

Roll up. Roll up

and please do post a comment about how you are pulling out the popcorn, opening a bottle of wine, settling into your chair, like everyone else does when they see a contentious topic and have nothing better to say.

I must be inadvertant bait tonight, as you all seem to be leaping to attack me. Have a good read through the thread. I haven't siad anything offensive whatsoever ( until now) and I would suggest that if I have then others have done so too...

electra · 07/06/2007 20:56

It is unacceptable to think a "racial slur" is "ok". It isn't.

woopsadaisy · 07/06/2007 20:58

im quite new to mn and so far have found it fun and suporting

however, i linked on this because i am (unfortunatly) into bb this year, and have been completely taken surprise by the way the thread has gone

do not agree with the link in any way and im not sticking up for anyone, but this seems to be instead of people reporting the incident , giving there opinion and going on there way, a bit bullying.

Mhamai · 07/06/2007 20:59

I should have been at a George Michael concert tonight but it was cancelled! sorry probably crap attempt at deflecting the tension.

electra · 07/06/2007 20:59

See this really winds me up because this happened on the Jade Goody thread. Someone said "It is racism, just not bad racism" I mean, WTF?

I am not angry with TheDevil. I'm angry with our society because a lot of people think like this. They think insidious racism is ok.

bettybobo · 07/06/2007 21:00

hmm lulumama the link was very offensive i see what you're saying but twas a bit of a shock. not sure it helped the thread much
iyswim

woopsadaisy · 07/06/2007 21:00

mhammi

is he back on the drugs again??

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 07/06/2007 21:00

And thanks to those who are not just following the herd here.

Perhaps a new mumsnet philosophy should be 'Don't start chewing at the corpse when the lions have been there already'

plummymummy · 07/06/2007 21:00

Taylorsmummy is bound to get upset - she has a mixed-race daughter. I too have a mixed-race son and also find this an emotive topic. It bothers me a LOT that the devil thinks racist slurs are or can be inoffensive.

Frankly I was annoyed before that. Was also curious to see where the notion of stabbing had come from as I had never mentioned it.

Booboobedoo · 07/06/2007 21:02

But as I understand it she was just a bit of an idiot trying to be street, wasn't she? i.e. probably trying to impress the person she was saying it to. Sorry if I'm rehashing - haven't read entire thread.

Mhamai · 07/06/2007 21:03

As far as I know no, he played here last night too and it was a cracking gig by all accounts but one of his trucks crashed in Prague last week, so instead of jepordising the rest of the tour, they have postponed it until further notice. I'm a bit greedy though because I saw him here only a few months ago!

electra · 07/06/2007 21:03

I clicked on it so I could flag it to be removed.

TaylorsMummy · 07/06/2007 21:04

i wasn't going to click on it but thought i'd have a look to see what the hell someone had actually gone looking thru youtube for i didn't watch it.the title was enough.

Chelseamum · 07/06/2007 21:04

don't bother too much Devil... you've done nothing wrong.... big xxx

TaylorsMummy · 07/06/2007 21:05
Hmm
TnOgu · 07/06/2007 21:06

I would have liked to have been able to enter this discussion, but it is just so heated and nobody ever steps back for a minute.

Why is it always full on war?

Think I need a long break again.

plummymummy · 07/06/2007 21:07

Well no one asked and I wouldn't say it to make a point as it is never an issue for us.
But if I am being accused of being racist I will say,
My DC are Croation, Algerian, English and Turkish.

We thankfully never encounter racsim in our day to day lives, but I would think we would be a very unlikely candidate if you are witchhunting a racist person?

Mhamai · 07/06/2007 21:08

T don't go! don't leave me! I take back everything about you in the weeds, hey I'll even do a spoiral for ya!
