Is there a Strictly 2018 thread yet?

Lots of rumours of who is going to be on but none confirmed as far as I know.

I too love DJJ SoupDragon he's always seemed such a happy fun and friendly person I'm really excited to see him on Strictly and imo I think he'll be pretty good as he's demonstrated good hips and rhythm in many of the parts he's played.

Graeme Swann will be interesting, he's very funny and a brilliant mimic. Looking forward to his Craig impression!

I do love Swanny. I'm looking forward to seeing how he does with the dancing.

I don't really mind them thatcan dance just some of them go all coy with faux modesty and that gets right on my wick.

I agree with this. You're never going to find 15-odd celebs who've never had a day's dance training in their life, unless you eliminate all actors and singers. But the ones who never acknowledge their experience AT ALL are the ones that really get me - Debbie never once mentioned the small fact of being a professional ballerina as I recall, but she found plenty of opportunities to mention her positively ancient age.

I like Ashley Roberts as much as I know her, she always seems like a good sport with a pretty British sense of humour - appealing in an American for some reason.

And I understand that finding slebs without ANY dance experience is going to be hard, and that variety makes the programme interesting and all the other reasons.

BUT choosing somebody who made their living by performing with a dance troupe in what is ostensibly a dance competition sits uncomfortably with me.

I’m also not going to lose any sleep over it though!

Alexandra last year just really bugged me cos she kept pretending, coy and being fake IMHO

Just hope that the ringers at least acknowledge their previous experience rather than behaving like Alexandra did last year

Really like Danny in Death in Paradise (which is on bbc1 tonight btw) and also Stacey in her documentaries incl the NHS one a few weeks ago and Dr Ranj seems a really lovely Dr

Sean Walsh was trying to act dead cool till he did his Bruno impression Sean is so a fan. Kate is one of those people who I think has been on before.

They normally have someone a bit Radio 4. And they’re a bit light on older celebs and soap actors. So my money’s on Lee from Blue, Alex Scott, John Humphries and Pam St Clement. (Last two names pulled out of thin air)

I’m not really a Sean Walsh fan, I can’t see him being able to really loosen up and throw himself into it. Hey ho, hopefully he’ll prove me wrong.

Johnny has lost loads of weight lately which got me thinking, but he can be a bit, erm, erratic on TV sometimes.

i heard comedian and hoped it would be Greg Davies, mind you he'd need a tall partner. I think Sian Gibson from car share would be a fun contestant too

When is the first tv episode?

afaik not been announced yet but launch is being filmed Fri 31Aug.
If it follows last year's pattern launch would be shown Sat 8th and series starting 22nd? but not sure as that depends if they do all 15 in one night as per 2017. The 8 day gap between launch being filmed then shown is twice as long as usual too if that is the schedule...surprising only in terms of pairings being more likely to leak?

Not the most interesting bunch so far. Hope there are a couple of real surprises to come.
