Here is the next thread for those who are watching The Handmaid's Tale Season 2 on Channel 4. Please don't put any spoilers on this - the other thread (for those in other countries who are watching ahead of the UK) is:

I reckon we'll get another Commander mysteriously dropping down dead when Emily joins his household. Hope so, anyway

Emily does seem to be on a mission to destroy as much of Gilead as she can. We only get snapshots of the regime and of how it operates, just as June does. It is chilling that so many people who lived with Western liberal values could abandon them like that - particularly the wives. I know Margaret Atwood did a lot of research for the book.

The parallels that I think of are Afghanistan under the Taliban and ISIS controlled areas and I suppose Communist East Germany, although the former two IMO were much more about the oppression of women in particular whereas Communism oppresses everyone. It is certainly grim to be reminded of what human are capable of.

I won't get to see the episode on Sunday - my parents are staying with me and mum doesn't like the programme as she thinks it's a bit over the top how people are using the imagery of handmaids in protests.

I will be muting my tv right until the episode starts this Sunday... I was annoyed about the commentary touching on what was coming up on last Sunday's episode before it started...you know with the big channel 4 iron mascot.

I actually could not help myself and I've watched ahead. I promise I will not give away anything as I tend to just lurk on here, but what I will say is that in my opinion the last two episodes are the best two out of the whole of seasons 1 and 2 so start getting excited!

I doubt it. Women have babies all the time without training and without pain relief, especially if it's not their first. Nobody ever taught me to breathe but my second and third dcs came out without any medical professional getting there till the very last moment. It's not like the birth stops if your mental attitude isn't right.

Yes, it was. But it doesn't mean she would have died without it.

Where are people watching the next episodes? I don't think I can wait! I did find one on Putlocker but it wanted me to register and I don't want to #footstamp

Also loved that channel 4 had the subtitles reminder before the show - they've maybe been reading these threads and seen a lot of us put them on due to unneccessary mumbling

You don’t need to register for Putlocker or the other free sites. Just close down requests for registration and pop ups.

Agree this could have been the end of series cliff hanger so yes it should be amazing.

It's ridiculous that they do this, when it hasn't even been shown over here yet. If I find ONE spoiler, I'm complaining. Luckily nothing has popped up yet.
