Re: the mkenzies.. I think the higher status the more likely you got a child. The handmaids don't guarantee a child.
There seems to be a lot of them and so far we have seen baby Charlotte and the pregnant hm who was chained up, and June... That's not many pregnancies, know we know its most likely due to the commanders being infertile.
So I guess at the beginning when they had children to 'give away' or in gilead speak 'provide a god fearing, Christian up bringing' too these went to higher up families first.
The rest got a chance with a hm but no guarantee.
Someone or someone's in gilead high command must know the men are mostly infertile, before gilead you can bet men were being tested as part of routine infertility investigations.
And don't forget the birth rate was plummeting before gilead so children like hannah were a rarity. So gilead could only take the children of sinners... So second marriage children, gender traitors if the child did not have Canadian citizenship (like Emily's son), single parents. Now given the very low birth rate, the number of children fitting above criteria was probably tiny.
Hence they must have been really prized.

Yes it is! It’s just about that episode. So tricky to avoid spoilers isn’t it? One time I was watching on Catch up and reading this thread and kept getting spoilers from it! Like Nick getting married.

Thanks for the article Destinysdaughter. The wolf was certainly symbolic of many things. It just shows the richness of the writing that we can all read so much into everything that happens.

I thought the radio in the car automatically came on to that channel. I don't recall June fiddling with it? The music chosen is brilliant.

I was gutted for her when she couldn't get the garage doors open.

I wonder what the next episode will bring? I'm glad Serena Joy wasn't there for the birth. I'm sure that will torment her for quite awhile.

The clip where June starts the car is if anyone wants another look at it, although it's not the best quality clip.

It's hard to tell but June starts the car and there's no noise from the radio, then a bit of static and we see her hand on the dial and then the voice comes through.

So it could have already been tuned to that station but not working well because she's in the garage, or it could be that she got very lucky finding that particular station first as soon as she started to search.

There aren't any spoilers in the clip but be careful on YouTube anyway in case the following clips are for future episodes.

I thought the lights at the end were just showing the passage of time...

The flashbacks to Hannah's birth made the birth on her own seem better! Hannah's birth was bright lights and clinical. Aggressive language and bickering. In stark contrast Holly's birth was beautiful. It showed how strong June is.

Amazing episode. My only criticism is how fast a very heavily pregnant June was moving! I shuffled at that stage.

I also was amazed at June's speed and strength while in early labour( or thereabouts).

But I rationalised that she had no option.
In a life or death situation I guess you'd do what was necessary.

This show is going to kill me

@Worriedmum42 if you have an iOS device that is not running the most current update (11.4.1) then you may be able to install TutuApp via safari. Then you can download bobbymovie. That way you can access all of THT episodes. I watched them all a couple of weeks ago but now I feel lost.

OMG i have only just realised its sunday again...aghhhh......

i am a bit combobulated this week as usually work on a saturday and have sunday as day off but this week swapped it around as had to take dd2 and dsd2 to airport yesterday....so am at work so had felt like saturday
