I don't know if Raahh is around to start a new thread and I couldn't post on the last one because it's full! Hope you all find this!

Me too Raahh! Some of his slice forehands are just 🔥

GrouchyKiwi · 05/07/2018 19:02

I cannot tell who is who in the Edmund match (apart from when they're close enough to see Kyle's sunburn). They should be allowed to have different colour patches on their hats.

Fizzywinegum · 05/07/2018 19:08

I think Lopez has a shoulder injury private

Yes Raahh I was worried about Magi with shagpolov going out Grin. He’s a bit too surfer dude for my tastes. (And I also have a 19 year old son!)

Zverev is definitely growing on me though.

Raahh · 05/07/2018 19:29

Just had to spend ages on the phone (nasty rl life stuffSad).

Back to nice, safe tennis.

Kyle is through now, then. Muguruza in a bit of trouble.

Raahh · 05/07/2018 19:32

Nishikori is playing Kyrgios next round I see.

That's one of those matches where I don't want either to win Grin

(I'll err on the side of Kei, since he's not a potty mouth, just a bit boringGrin).

PrivateParkin · 05/07/2018 19:39

Hope you're ok Raahh.

I was not much of a fan of Kei, but the other day when Japan were playing in the world cup, he posted some v sweet tweets. First goal: loads of Japanese flags and a smiley face. Second goal 2-0 Japan more flags and smileys. Full time (Belgium won) just loads of sad faces! So I've warmed to him a bit.

The draw is v lopsided in the men's already, so it seems to me anyway. The top half seems decimated and the bottom half seems stacked Hmm. I don't think there's anyone in the top half who can challenge for the title at all. Except Fed obviously. But who else is there??

Raahh · 05/07/2018 19:55

Thanks Private just too many things going on (have been for a while now), and I'm getting a bit bogged down. Sometimes, I think ostriches have the right idea Grin

I agree about the draw- before the tournament started, I read a lot about the bottom half being loaded- and it seems even more so now.

And the Japanese fans, at the football, tidying up the stadium, was so lovely. Grin

Raahh · 05/07/2018 20:07

Just seen that Baghdatis is out,Sad but Khachanov is a very tricky customer.

And- after I mentioned Milkman, and his black undies yesterday, I've just read that he was told he was in violation of the all -white dress code before the match, and the black pants were a replacement pair his dad had to get him in a mad shopping dash!

GrouchyKiwi · 05/07/2018 20:29

Hope it all settles down soon, Raahh.

I'm really enjoying the Muguruza v van Uytvanck match. Such a good competition.

Raahh · 05/07/2018 20:31

Thanks, Grouchy.

It is a good match- I'm very nervous for Muguruza though!

bookbook · 05/07/2018 20:39

I had to go and do stuff in the garden ( pick raspberries , water that sort of thing ) and now DH has turned off the tennis
To be fair, I have watched it all afternoon , but it was getting a bit interesting , the Muguruza match

Fizzywinegum · 05/07/2018 20:50

Fritz doing well against Zverev - Zverev getting grumpy about dew on the court.

Will today at Wimbledon be on? Was hoping to see a bit of Rafa’s match if they show it.

Hope everything ok Raahh

OneInAMillionYou · 05/07/2018 20:56

Nice to see some Fed love on this thread for a change, I'm with you Ferrier
It's good to see on this thread we can have our favourite players without resorting to insulting others, in the main.

Off court he is very funny in a geeky way and not in the least bit arrogant. He signs for hours after each match and has won the ATP Fans' Favourite Award fourteen years in a row. His global appeal is huge.
Fellow pros rate him as a nice guy too.

To watch him move on a tennis court is to enjoy the purest form of tennis. It's a style choice for me, I'm not a fan of so called 'power' tennis, I love the geometry of the sport and Fed finds angles that didn't seem to exist!

bookbook · 05/07/2018 20:58

well, that is Muguruza gone ....

OneInAMillionYou · 05/07/2018 21:00

Sascha is in trouble, 2-1 down to Fritz and play has been called for the night.

Shocked that Shapo went out to Paire, who is nutty as a fruitcake!

I agree with Raah and others ref Jo Konta. She seems to have disappeared up her own backside of pomposity! Regularly moaning to and arguing with umpires. I don't think she's got the game to be a slam winner but she'll make a nice living on the tour. Plus that service motion is bloody ridiculous, nearly as many bounces as Djokovic. 😀

Fizzywinegum · 05/07/2018 21:01

Wow muguruza out - Zverev is 2-1 down as well. Taylor fritz is looking pretty impressive. Zverev couldn’t wait to get off the court.

Lots of seeds gone and only day 4.

JaneJeffer · 05/07/2018 21:01

I've been watching Zverev/Fritz. Some of the shots Fritz hit were unreal. Sascha must be delighted with the fading light so he could go off.

Raahh · 05/07/2018 21:03

I'm missing everything now!

Fizzy thank you. I'm plodding on. Sorry to bring things to the thread (and be vague- it's not something I can really talk about on here).

At least I've got the tennis for now - Doctors is on it's summer break! ShockGrin

Raahh · 05/07/2018 21:04

I can't believe Garbine is out Sad.

I really like her.

GrouchyKiwi · 05/07/2018 21:04

Van Uytvanck did such a great job. It's a shame to see Muguruza leave but she had no answer today.

Raahh · 05/07/2018 21:08

Sometimes Garbine is like that - Uytvanck did play very well, and kept her nerve.

OneInAMillionYou · 05/07/2018 21:09

A lot of big servers left in the top half. Only going to get more dangerous as the courts get harder and harder in the heat.

Querrey, Raonic, Anderson, Isner. Not a cakewalk for Fed at all.

Raonic would be my pick. (Kiss of Death!! 😀)

OneInAMillionYou · 05/07/2018 21:10

Oh no, Raah I really like Garbine too.

Don't know who to support on the Women's side now.

PrivateParkin · 05/07/2018 21:17

One do you follow Paire on social media? He always posts photos of his meals etc! And hair dying processes!! Grin
