Hope this is a new series

Letโ€™s see if each family does the usual of no no no thatโ€™s horrible and their usual brand ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Sure itโ€™s on demand /I played

Itโ€™s the usual thing. Family buys the most expensive brands

They swap for economy

Some nice. Some not

Usually they pretend to swap something and the family say yuk this is horrible and not my brand - yet it is ๐Ÿ˜‚

Like the Yorkshire tea couple.

Graphista · 19/07/2018 20:05

Re the son not cooking at home - that didn't surprise me as its a case of the cobblers child having no shoes - nobody really wants to come home and carry on working.

It's interesting the response on mn though where mners are apparently either junk food addicts or quinoa knitters who bake daily! Truth is most of us are somewhere in between and have bad habits as well as good.

ellenanora5 · 19/07/2018 20:13

Ah now I love junk but that trolley is actually ridiculous, can't get over the amount of crisps and I bloody love crisps.

But to be fair to them she works very odd hours and he's on his own so I can see how snacks and ready meals become part of your life, its an easy trap to fall into to I'd say.

jay55 · 19/07/2018 20:14

I love this couple already. Cake instead of a meal sounds great to me.

ellenanora5 · 19/07/2018 20:15

Is that ยฃ44 on the junk or minus the junk

skippy67 · 19/07/2018 20:16

She's irritating.

TimesNewRoman · 19/07/2018 20:16

Is this couple for real?

Graphista · 19/07/2018 20:17

Yea I can see how they've got here.

Feeling quite emotional, as the health aspect is even more worrying than the caffeine addict last week.

But - and I don't think this will come up on the programme, no children and they look to be late 30's? Now if that's their choice grand, but if they've had fertility issues I wonder what part diet may have played in that?

First one where spending will increase they think, interesting to me as I spend about the same, but on healthier food.

Wait what?! Rectangular knives??

Igottastartthinkingbee · 19/07/2018 20:23

How does anyone get to their 30s without having heard food sizzling in a pan?! Canโ€™t get my head round anyone finding their kitchen so alien.

skippy67 · 19/07/2018 20:25

Me either.

TimesNewRoman · 19/07/2018 20:28

I can't believe they are a real couple Hmm

This is the reason we stress about weaning our kids and making sure they eat their veg ๐Ÿ™ˆ

ellenanora5 · 19/07/2018 20:28

I'd scoff that omelette

greeneggblueegg · 19/07/2018 20:29

She is so annoying!

zwellers · 19/07/2018 20:30

I'm sorry is there anyone in the whole world who sees chopping fruit and veg as a joy ffs. I hate the way these cooking shows assume you have or want to spend time arsing around with ingredients when you can buy it already done

Graphista · 19/07/2018 20:30

I know people like this. Rarely couples though. Singletons definitely.

Baked eggs are much nicer than a regular omelette - the thing I like is I've learned it'll keep in fridge for 3 days! Dd not an egg fan so I don't often have them, but I may well try that recipe (are the recipes online?)

ellenanora5 · 19/07/2018 20:33

Would you eat it cold the next day Graphista or heat it up, I've never done it in the oven before.

Not sure if the recipes are on line but I know you can buy the book

Graphista · 19/07/2018 20:35

Wouldn't bother me eating it cold, if I've done baked eggs in the past I've eaten them hot and they are very tasty.

sproodlemummy · 19/07/2018 20:35

@graphista thatโ€™s quite a sweeping statement to make!! Having gone through many rounds of IVF, 3 rounds watching every little morsal that went into my mouth only to have shit results, to our 4th round thinking fuck it Iโ€™ll just eat whatever I like and getting our best results yet, there isnโ€™t always a correlation between bad diet & infertility.

crumbsinthecutlerydrawer · 19/07/2018 20:40

A few of the recipes are online. The baked eggs one is the only one from tonight on the site.

jay55 · 19/07/2018 20:43

Lots of eggs this week.

mydogisthebest · 19/07/2018 20:44

I am finding her very annoying. That silly giggle and acting like it's so funny that they only eat crap.

The slow cooker made me laugh. Her "9 hours, that can't be right surely it should be 9 minutes"!

Why don't any of these couples ask their family for advice or look online or go to the library and get some books? No they go on tv for their 5 minutes of fame and look like idiots in the process

Wincarnis · 19/07/2018 20:50

Agree with pp, these two seem to be especially proud of their ignorance. Cooking tips and nutritional advice is readily available...supermarket cookery cards...health centre leaflets...online.....magazines...tv shows.....even previous series of eat well for less!

ellenanora5 · 19/07/2018 20:56

Well at least they're learning so that's good, they'll probably do loads more now and enjoy it.

Graphista · 19/07/2018 20:57

Not a sweeping statement a wondering, that's literally what I said I WONDER what impact that MAY have had. And I'm not saying there's always a correlation, but the guy was only having enough calories for a toddler! The sheer lack of food we know has an effect on health.

It's a complex issue I know and many factors can affect it (not least pollution which as individuals there's little we can do anything about).

I didn't have the easiest route to motherhood myself. Following 2 mc I did a lot of research (early internet days but we didn't have a computer at home) and after doing the research, checking with dr I decided before ttc again to cut out alcohol, caffeine, certain artificial additives, the foods we're advised not to eat while pregnant (because women don't know if they're pregnant straight away) soft cooked eggs, Mayo, soft cheeses, beansprouts and started taking folic acid & vitamin d. Despite being veggie blood tests showed I was fine on iron, b vitamins so decided against an all in one ttc vitamin supplement.

All that said I am sorry if my comment upset anyone, certainly wasn't my intention. I hope that 4th round - best results yet mean you now have your hard fought for family and I'm sorry you had to go through all that. Flowers
