So many of the men seem gay with all the OTT makeovers.

The new boy Charlie, the 'socialite' is apparently loaded according to the Fail. Doesn't make him any more attractive.

Also Georgia is really young-looking isn't she? I'm sure somebody mentioned it but I could never see it but now I can. She could pass as a glanced up 16yo. Or maybe that's just because a lot of the contestants look way older than their supposed ages.

Samira has masses of personality but that doesn’t seem to count. but they’re not looking for masses of personality, they’re mainly looking for blonde hair and someone who will put out.

I find Samira a bit cringe tbh - she seems to be trying a bit too hard to sound cool and it doesn’t work - a bit like Alex saying “sick”! She is quite fun, but she feels fake to me and is shit at flirting. If she had her beautiful face and fun personality, but coupled with the terrible unnatural flowing hair extensions the other girls have to twiddle in her fingers while giggling and fluttering her eyelashes, I’m sure she’d have more luck. However she should just be true to herself and find someone who likes her for who she is, which will be hard while she’s surrounded by Megans.

Telling that most of the boys picked Megan and Ellie in their top 3 - and would have picked Hayley at the start - they just can’t see past clearly fake blonde hair.

Do you not think it odd that several of them put eg Laura, Ellie and Megan in their top 3, who look nothing alike heigh-wise, body shape-wise or facially an have totally different personalities and even ages. The only thing they all have in common is their (dyed) blonde hair.

I think it’s fair enough to have preferences - I would never choose a blonde guy, don’t know why, just don’t fine them attractive. Ooh except Thor.

If I were picking eg from all the boys in there purely on looks I’d go Jack, then Frankie then probably the new guy with the beard and glasses (is it Alex?). Obviously Adam is hot AF but I don’t really like that, I prefer a dad bod preferably with a proper hairy chest which none of these boys have. That may also be one reason I don’t tend to find black men as attractive as they don’t often have a hairy chest/hairy arms. My type is more Mediterranean, which makes sense as that’s my heritage.

Hair colour can definitely be a big factor, its like when Adam said Kendall, Rosie and Zara could be sisters and were all so alike- he just couldn't see past the fact they were all brunettes

I think we have to keep reminding ourselves this doesn't reflect real life though at least in my experience. I mentor young scientists through my work and they're lovely young men and women about LI age with no fake lips etc in sight. And many of them have girlfriends boyfriends etc. I think this generation is sensible/alright as a whole. Just not the ones who go on reality tv!

My opinion on why all the boys said they preferred Laura, Ellie and Megan is simply that they have more chance of staying on the island with those three. Ellie is coupled up with Alex officially at the moment and therefore will be looking for someone new. Ditto with Laura, who is still officially stuck with Wes. Both girls will know that Alex and Wes won't want to stay with them. Megan is free because Eyal has left and therefore needs to be coupled up.
I don't think that there is anything more to the boys' expressed preferences than that.
I would also suggest the same cynical motives for the two girls who stated they fancied Alex.

Of course Samira doesn't get picked because she's black! It's not necessarily racism but it's social conditioning to find black girls less attractive. Dani for example isn't very flirty or particularly attractive but she was picked. Marcel wasnt picked last year until Gabbie came along, because he was black.

The boys all said Megan, Laura and Ellie because they are the single girls. Just like all the girls said Alex. Even when Samria was the single kne the boys didmt really want her, when they always say the single girls because she was black.
The boys normally go for the petite dark haired girls in previous series (Amber, Kady), they don't actually normally go for blondes.

Also Wes will have to ditch Megan if he wants to stay in because him and Meggan aren't a couple, him and Laura are and Laura will deffo pick someone else so Wes will have to couple up.

HyacinthBuffet lol it’s what they’re there for. I don’t think they’d be doing that if they just met on a night out. Well not to that degree.

Did anyone watch Survival of The Fittest? I do think it debunks the race theory here that men aren’t as attracted to black women. I think LI casting are a bit crap with their representation of both genders and their casting of women of colour (black and Asian) is more token than thought about on their own merit or what they might give to the show.

I know they want to cut to the chase. Thought they’d be a bit more clever about it instead of laying claim to the same people.

This way most of them could end up in a Rosie “why wasn’t I in your Top 4?” type of situation if they change their minds.

There are always men with niche fetishes - Asian babes is another. That in itself is quite annoying.
Maybe that’s the reason white men don’t got for black women, they’re accused of having fetishes and told it’s annoying.

Whattheheq yes, I’m not sure Dh’s has a fetish because he married me, nor my mum for my dad. If he ever got his wish of me dressing as Princess Leia then that would be a fetish. Although these days it would look more like Jabba the Hutt in a gold bikini.
