I can’t see that working in real life. She is not his intellectual equal for one thing and has the wrong job for another. But I guess that’s where the reality show element comes into play.

I do think Samira not being picked is to do with her colour. To suggest otherwise is a bit disingenuous. It is not the same with Alex. Alex seems to possess an uncanny ability to make women - at least the ones in there - back off. He’s wet. In contrast, Samira has masses of personality but that doesn’t seem to count.

it seems ppl think Samira is being overlooked because of her colour. Some ppl just don’t fancy black men or women. She clearly doesn’t fancy black men she likes blonde with blue eyes.

I'm sorry but I think Samira is about as sexy as a turnip, and it ain't anything to do with what she looks like.

She did specify that combination as her type - to Charlie who was on paper a perfect fit.

I love Samira. I think she's stunning and I love her personality. I think she's really funny and very loyal. I don't get the snake comments at all. I think she says what she thinks. Maybe that's part of it - she's too honest and not as underhand and good at playing the game as others. I also think she and Alex really do get on as friends and that's one of the reasons Alex was so upset at Ellie's game playing, because if Sam hadn't picked her, she would have gone home and it would have been his fault.

I don't get the whole Megan thing. I'm amazed how everyone is saying how beautiful she is and that every single boy picked her. To me she was far prettier in the 'before' photos. I think she looked really lovely then, so it shows what I know!

Lots of white guys prefer exotic looking girls, but less so black.

Interesting comments on why Samira’s been overlooked. But attraction on Love Island is quite strange.

They all seem to base it on hair colour. Adam even said Kendall, Rosie and Zara could be sisters because they had brown hair. No one mentions if they like curvy, athletic or thin body types.

I think Smegan was actually very pretty before all the surgery. Now - much less so. The irony. Maybe she has body issues.

I have noticed it in previous seasons as well, black or mixed race women do not do well - even though absolutely stunning and intelligent.

To me it seems obvious that this is a significant reason for Samira to the point it is getting uncomfortable to watch. I also question whether Adam was set up in some way to say what he did, because the producers must also be aware of this. Until this point he had never expressed any interest in Samira.

It is quite depressing.

Adam is being difficult to read in the new set up.

I really like Samira and Adam as a couple though. But he seems to be keeping his options open.

Equally you can be working in a tanning salon and studying or saving to study if that’s all you rate intelligence on.

You can’t really control your physical attraction though, can you? I have never found a single black man attractive. I’m not racist in any way, I have absolutely no prejudices towards anyone based on their race but I just do not find black men attractive.

Her personality is very guarded, she has quite a dry sense of human and her conversations with the lads just set my teeth on edge. She’s not right for this show at all, I actually feel as though the ITV2 casting squad were box ticking in the diversification box by putting the token black girl in.

Yup and plenty of intelligent people don’t know what they want to do as they are good at lots of things but don’t have passion for just one so can end up in any job just for income purposes.

To be honest I think they have not put anymore black women in because they can't take the risk of the same thing happening again - one you can put down to the individual- two or more is a pattern. A franchise ending pattern if picked up by the public and the press.
