To be honest I suspect they thought Laura and alex would get it together. I think her going for wes threw everything out of kilter.

Bekabeech · 25/06/2018 16:15

The fact that Laura is so immature - would have thrown things off. She is worse than any of the younger girls - and seemed like a bunny boiler when Wes was flirting with Ellie.

Shambu · 25/06/2018 16:25

I think Adam is different with Zara actually, I noticed it immediately.

I don't mean he has any more respect for her than any other woman, but he seems to like her more than the other two who you could feel he wasn't that interestedin, and also to feel like she's slightly out of his league in terms of her job.

BlancheM · 25/06/2018 16:30

Camilla was a masterclass of er, class. Dignified at all times and genuine.

BalaBrith · 25/06/2018 16:37

I really liked him, but I'm starting to go off Alex a bit. He seems really entitled to a girl, and doesn't really bring much himself. Yes, ok, he's a doctor and he's good looking. But he is also dull... and really condescending I think. He definitely thinks he's above people in the villa and he probably went in thinking it would be smooth sailing and now he just acts like a bit of a brat because the girls aren't interested. I was really rooting for him too..

RoseWhiteTips · 25/06/2018 16:44

For Alex, it all boils down to wanting screen time nor necessarily love. And let’s face it, they all love each other quite enough already.

It is said Alex wouldn’t mind being the next TV doctor. I’m afraid you need charisma for that sort of job; he has none that I can see.

RoseWhiteTips · 25/06/2018 16:45

The only one with any charisma in there is Adam much as I hate to say it.

RideSallyRide76 · 25/06/2018 16:48

I'm also losing sympathy for Alex over his behaviour with Ellie. He was more interested in getting a snog (while his mates watched and cheered him on Confused) than in actually getting to know Ellie and now he's coupled up with her he's quite patronising. I think he could be next to go.

Moonkissedlegs · 25/06/2018 16:49

I have to say that I also think that Adam is genuinely much more into Zara than he was either of the other two. After their horrible slobbery kiss, he seemed so upbeat and happy in a way he never had been with the others.

Time will tell I guess, but I think it was take a lot more to turn his head now than it did before.

BusterTheBulldog · 25/06/2018 16:50

Remembere how annoying Eyal was watching last nights ep. I do enjoy him in a perverse way though!

Moonkissedlegs · 25/06/2018 16:51

Yeah, it did seem like all Alex was really interested in was a snog with Ellie, just to 'get points on the board' as it were. I don't think he sees him and her going anywhere any more than she does, I'd say he thinks she is a bit of a bimbo.

Moonkissedlegs · 25/06/2018 16:52

But I think Alex wanted to stay coupled up with Ellie for now to give their 'relationship' some 'legitimacy' , because everyone else is coupled up.

Shambu · 25/06/2018 16:57

It's not just no charisma - it's no conversational skills. He's not cut out for TV.

DiabolicalMess · 25/06/2018 17:06

Sorry I'm a bit late to the party but Jack and Dani really melted me last night, I literally couldn't help smiling watching them. I really think they genuinely like each other, and I hadnt realised that asking someone to be your girlfriend is still a thing - I haven't heard of it since primary school. It's so pure and sweet it really thawed my ordinarily ice bitch heart!

SleepingInYourFlowerbed · 25/06/2018 17:12

Just watched the first look and Alex comes across terribly. Ellie may well have played him a bit but that doesn't give him the right to get so angry as if he has a right to her

Shambu · 25/06/2018 17:17

I bet you Sam doesn't get so angry when he realises Samira doesn't fancy him.

TheDishRanAwayWithTheSpoon · 25/06/2018 18:01

I don't think Ellie played Alex as such, I think she went on liking him and then sort of realised she didn't fancy him but wanted to try. She probably did see it as a safe option for recoupling but I do think she thought she could force it but just couldn't

Twirlywooer · 25/06/2018 18:08

Alex has no charisma, no chat, he can't flirt (I love cars), can't seem to choose his own clothes and he looks like a sweaty lobster......I'm sure he's a very good doctor, which will be enough for someone in RL, but not on Love Island!

PrincessScarlett · 25/06/2018 18:17

I agree that Alex has been quite patronising with Ellie, thinking of her as a trophy he's entitled to rather than an equal. She may well be playing a game but if she is and has already decided she can't fake it with Alex, he must be bad!

I predict when girls choose next Ellie will ditch Alex and possibly couple up with Sam and Alex and Samira will be back together.

NeverTalksToStrangers · 25/06/2018 18:29

The whole premise of the show makes me a bit uncomfortable in that you stick x number of boys in a villa with x no of girls and they are all expected to get it on for money basically. Yes they are all good-looking people which makes it more likely that there will be automatic attractions, but this whole idea that they all leave in couples is such a pile of crap really and so unsurprising that most of them go on to split up. That doesn't mean I'm not enjoying watching it though, obviously.

My point being that this assumption means Alex feels so entitled. It reeks of being 15 and ending up kissing some boy because your friend is snogging their mate and you've nothing better to do.

Alex could well be out this week, assuming they are sending another bloke or two in. The girls have to pick next. But then, if Jack's ex is on her way, maybe not.Hmm

I've seen reports that she's prettier than Dani. Not if the pics are true!

LadyRochfordsHoickedGusset · 25/06/2018 18:29

I don't think some peeps can get their head around the fact that yes Alex studied long enough to become a doctor but that doesn't mean he's amazingly intelligent or is particularly attractive to the opposite sex. Because he just isn't.

He was so condescending to Ellie - with all the "yeah people always assume I want an intellectual equal" but I'll it's fine because you're a "hot blonde" - I know they were two separate conversations but it's what he thinks or sth along those lines.

He's a twunt.

LadyRochfordsHoickedGusset · 25/06/2018 18:30

It'll

LadyRochfordsHoickedGusset · 25/06/2018 18:31

Be

Moonkissedlegs · 25/06/2018 18:39

He was so condescending to Ellie - with all the "yeah people always assume I want an intellectual equal"

Yes, I was so Hmm when he said that!

I agree that he is treating Ellie as a trophy he is entitled to.

The problem is that the rest of the country won't agree and will feel sorry for Alex because you know, all men are entitled to the woman that they want.

RoseWhiteTips · 25/06/2018 18:41

He is naive and clumsy certainly but none of the rest is his intellectual equal. What the hell is he doing there?
