Just rewatched it on Netflix and loved it as much as the first time. It's just so bloody incredible I honestly feel a bit bereft. The last episode is so brilliant, no lame endings or feeling disappointed.

I genuinely think it's the best tv ever made. Not sure why I'm posting this as I realise I sound like a gushing mad woman.

Deadwood! Wasn't that great, wherewithall?

Rumours are that they are trying to negotiate a 'finale' movie-length episode since it was cancelled so abruptly.

It's fun to google the main characters and find out what they were like in real life.

Thanks again to those on this thread who recommended Halt and Catch Fire. I've just binged the lot. I loved it and am now feeling completely bereft!

Get hold of The Shield if you can. My favourite tv drama ever.

Thanks to this thread I have now watched the whole of Mad Men! Wasn't convinced by season 1, but kept on it and totally hooked. Loved the way they ended episodes with Don and a related song. Loved Betty's character and wished she was in it more, especially if they had explored her relationship with food/looks/control etc.

What to watch now??

The Wire and The Sopranos aren't on Netflix .....

The Americans? Boardwalk Empire?

raisinsraisins · 27/06/2018 15:56

Thanks, I'll try The Americans as it's on Amazon.

CAAKE I loved Halt and Catch Fire too. And I thought the ending was one of the best endings I've seen of a series.

feel inspired to watch MadMen all the way through.

gave up shortly after last time - simply because I realised it was just toooooooooooooooooooo upsetting to realise I would never actually marry Don Draper or even meet him for a nano second. Possibly the sexiest man ever to appear on television. I couldn't handle the sense of loss that came over me Blush. How does his real-life wife feel about it. Does she feel faint every morning? Smile

Masters of Sex is a good series to try if you like Mad Men.

All the men in Mad Men are t**ts. I love the scenes with Betty. I don't understand how they all weren't riddled with sti's. Peggy really annoyed me in the series one when she slept with Pete when the Dr had told her it wasn't safe until she had been taking the pill for a month.

I watched it alone. I first tried watching it with my DH but he hated it and found it slow and dull and fell asleep in the second episode. so glad I gave it another go
