Just rewatched it on Netflix and loved it as much as the first time. It's just so bloody incredible I honestly feel a bit bereft. The last episode is so brilliant, no lame endings or feeling disappointed.

I genuinely think it's the best tv ever made. Not sure why I'm posting this as I realise I sound like a gushing mad woman.

So, so good I agree. However, The Sopranos just has the edge for me. I loved The Wire but the second season was hard going. Six Feet Under was fantastic..

Im having an op next week so ill watch this with interest.

Mad men is definitely one of my favourite shows, but wanted to weigh in on Halt and Catch Fire...it takes a while to get started but once you're in it is genuinely mesmerising. I binged all of it in about 3 weeks. Almost no one has heard of it - it makes me sad!

endoftether82 · 18/05/2018 20:47

I'm going to try halt and catch fire tonight!

Also The Wire stands up to a rewatch...it's arguably even better second time around. Love a good box set binge, enjoy!

endoftether82 · 18/05/2018 21:52

I'd love to rewatch the wire, although I agree with pp, I could easily skip past season2.

Mad Men is great. I really miss seeing new episodes.

You might also like Masters of Sex which is about sex researchers in the late 50s onwards. Or Z: the Beginning of Everything which is a short series about Zelda Fitzgerald and the jazz age.

raisinsraisins · 18/05/2018 22:47

Ok, I'm now up to ep 4 of Mad Men!!

endoftether82 · 19/05/2018 09:35

How are you finding it raisins?

I adore it too. It might be my favourite TV show ever. The characters, the relationships between them, the clothes, interiors. How slow and steady the pacing is. I still think about the characters from time to time. I remember actually worrying about some of them when I saw the final episode!

Must rewatch the whole thing next winter during the long evenings

pandapop17 · 19/05/2018 09:52

I am currently rewatching on Netflix, its just so amazing. I have also starting listening to an old pod cast called mad men happy hour. They discuss and disect each scene. I am a hardcore mad men geek!

CharDeeMacDennis · 19/05/2018 09:55

I love it! But haven't seen the end as when I watched, the second half of the last season wasn't on Netflix, is it on now?

Don Draper is an incredible character.

AsAProfessionalFekko · 19/05/2018 10:01

Actually the ending wasn't half bad (unlike other finales - Shinfield was the stinkiest).

endoftether82 · 19/05/2018 10:57

The ending was brilliant! Might have to check out that podcast panda

love it too, love the styles, - not finished it yet

ScoobyGangMember · 19/05/2018 18:00

Where can I watch this Halt and Catch Fire of which you speak?

dingdongdigeridoo · 19/05/2018 20:59

It’s on Amazon Prime. I’m going to check it out soon so we need a thread!

ScoobyGangMember · 19/05/2018 23:00

Great. I've got Prime.

Slartybartfast · 20/05/2018 09:27

Oh I am on series 6 episode 13 @Fuzzywinegum

TheEagle · 20/05/2018 09:50

Mad Men is incredible television, the characters are second to none.

It looked so beautiful as well, I could watch January Jones endlessly!

Six Feet Under is one of my all time favourite television shows. The stories, the characters, the acting, the depth of feeling is just breathtaking. It deals with so much darkness but then you have such flashes of humour and the underlying theme of the strength of family bonds.

Haven’t found anything since Breaking Bad that really resonated like those 2 shows.

MsGameandWatching · 20/05/2018 11:53

If you like Mad Men this blog is brilliant. Character analysis by the clothes and colours they wear. I wish I had found it while I was watching for the first time.

Was the second season of The Wire the one at the docks? Give me strength, I really struggled with that! Loved the school series teacher

MsGameandWatching · 20/05/2018 21:10

I gave up during series 2, was so boring. It it worth jumping to series 3?

MsGameandWatching · 20/05/2018 21:20

Of The Wire that is. Not Mad Men, Mad Men is the best.

KERALA1 · 20/05/2018 22:14

Some scenes stay with you. Like the idyllic family picnic at the end Betty shakes all the rubbish off the rug and they get in the car and drive off leaving all their litter. Dh and I were Shock

ShackUp · 20/05/2018 22:31

msgame 3rd series is set in a school and is amazing
