Anyone else counting the hours 'til Friday? Saga banged up and stitched up for the murder of her evil mama; how will she cope? Come on Henrik, save our girl!

How much do you think the Porsche will sell for?

petrolpump28 · 26/06/2018 07:52

I absolutely loved the earlier series with Martin. Struggling to feel enthusiastic about this one.

LoisWilkersonsLastNerve · 26/06/2018 08:14

A Saga MugGrin That's brilliant.

MrsFring · 26/06/2018 11:39

The Aspergers thing is very close to home for me. From what I understand from Aspie forums characters like Saga and Sheldon Cooper have done a lot of good for the public perception of Aspergers; both are cool and loveable characters ( maybe not cool in Sheldon's case! )

Re: the Aspergers thing. I thought it had been stated somewhere that Saga doesn't have Aspergers and is just really traumatised by her earlier life. She's a fascinating character either way.

I've been watching this series on iPlayer but I'm going to watch it live on Friday...can't wait, though I will be sad to see the series end.

I did raise an eyebrow when Lillian's date wandered past the florist but perhaps that was just the director/writer teasing us? I have also been wondering if Frank might be the stepfather the 2 girls keep talking about. I'm hoping they run to the police now and tell Saga what they know. Henrik telling Kevin/Brian about Astrid must have been significant...I'm a bit worried about that....!

HollowTalk · 26/06/2018 15:15

Yes, I thought Frank had to be the girls' stepfather. However, the girls did say something about making something up, didn't they?

I wondered about the florist, too, because I thought that Lillian and the guy met up at night, but the florist was packing away when they came out of the restaurant. I remember thinking it was late. I'm not sure why that was shown, but probably to make us suspect her date.

On the video where the scriptwriters are talking about the 10-episode series, they said that episode 8 is always the one full of red herrings. This episode was 7 out of 8, so I wonder whether the same rule applies. I can imagine the fun they have bringing in so many red herrings right at the last minute - and planted there, of course, in plain sight, is a real clue.

I can't wait until Friday!

MrsFring · 26/06/2018 16:59

Many of Saga's characteristics are strongly indicative of Aspergers; although one should beware of stereotyping as I know from my own immediate family. An abusive mother wouldn't necessarily produce a child with narrow, obsessive interests and problems with social interaction, although, as is rightly said, if you've met one person with autism, you've met one person with autism.

I’ve thought and overthought about this. The whole idea of the victims being executed by “state” methods would require a lot of planning, resources and physical strength, which makes me think it must be a team effort.
The nastiness of the revenge killings also indicate someone with psychopathic tendencies. The only out and out psychopath we’ve seen so far is the gangster, William, whose daughter died. He has sworn revenge on her killer, and I think we might see that before the end of the episode.
So the killers must be hiding their psychopathic side very well. They’re presumably characters we already know because it’s too late to bring in new ones.
I think it might be a team of people who are related to men killed in the shootout in ways we don’t yet know.
It really is a tribute to the writing that it’s this close to the end and I haven’t a clue whodunnit.

Beeblot · 26/06/2018 19:51

Completely agree - and I think it was the same for previous series, too. I still have no idea what'll happen...

Gonegrey31 · 26/06/2018 19:51

In an interview prior to the beginning of this series, the actor playing Saga said that at one point in one of the episodes she was not acting, and behaved/reacted as she naturally would. I was intrigued by this. She went on to say that the director did not spot this, and it remains on film. My dh thinks he has spotted the bit - did anyone else read the interview and think that they too noticed what she was referring to ?

AgentProvocateur · 26/06/2018 20:07

I’ve just cancelled my lunch on Saturday so I can watch it! I’m away overnight on Friday, then have a party on Saturday night, and I can’t wait (or stay off this thread) till Sunday.

helzapoppin2 · 26/06/2018 20:08

Oooh dear Gonegrey, without rewatching the whole lot, I don’t know! Any clues?
Beeblot, I read the Guardian blog and comments and nobody on there seems to know either. My only rule of thumb is DH’s theory that it’s always the least likely person.

LoisWilkersonsLastNerve · 26/06/2018 20:12

Ooh it's only TuesdayAngry I know it's only a tv show but my god I would cancel a lunch too. Grin I think it's possible Linn has more to do with it. Could another woman really be the killer though?

AGnu · 26/06/2018 20:32

There was a moment where her face looked different. Just briefly but I remember thinking that the camera had caught her off-guard when she wasn't being Saga.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed the florist & the possible girls/CCG link. I also noticed the fish tank in a previous episode which may have hinted at the owner being involved in the snail poison thing. I so wish I'd written notes. I might fake a migraine tomorrow & insist DH take the DC out for the day so I can binge watch all the episodes I can find. DH will come home to find I've removed pictures from the wall & scrawled random things everywhere!

Beeblot · 26/06/2018 20:40

@Gonegrey31 it wasn't the bit in the last episode where Henrik says all is fine between them and she sort of smiles, was it?

I won't be surprised if it turns out that the girls escaped from that commune at some point. It feels like there is a bit more to find out about them - I hope we get to find out.

YouStacey · 26/06/2018 20:43

While I would have agreed previously that the least obvious character dunnit, with the Bridge 4 I think the SW's are too clever - they know we think it's the least obvious so they make the least obvious innocent and put the real culprit who we've already dismissed because they are too obvious in plain sight - hence our dismissal.
But my money is still on the PA, Kevin and the granny, and I think Tommy's lover was the PA. just a thought , is the PA called Suzanne? If Tommy's writing was bad then perhaps he wrote Suzanne on that letter but it looked like Stephan?
The acting is great from all of them (well perhaps not so much with Kevin aged 17 Grin ) - did anyone notice the baby's face when Nicole got in the car with Tobias last Friday? GrinGrin
I'm away for weekend and no access to decent wifi so no IPlayer. Friends joining us on Thursday so will feel unable to siT and watch with the absolute concentration and quiet it requires. SadSadSad

Beeblot · 26/06/2018 20:45

PS does anyone else think that the way they've released this show (ie in the old-fashioned way rather than the series-at-once Netflix way) has meant that the anticipation each week has almost been something to savour? You don't really get " "appointment to view" tv much anymore with the advent of on demand.

TheGirlOnTheLanding · 26/06/2018 21:18

No @Beeblot, I hate the anticipation! Grin Instant gratification all the way for me. I really miss the binge.

ElasticFirecracker · 26/06/2018 21:23

@Beeblot I think I preferred it when it was 2 hours on a Saturday night. I don't think 1 hour is enough.

I think I have read through all of this, but I didn't see any mention of the backpack with the skeleton key fob in Suzanne (PA) and Niels? (Psychologists) car which caused the girls to do a bunk.

I know one of the girls recognised it and had a flashback to the theft, and this made her feel she had to get out, but I can't work out why exactly. It does seem a bit convenient that they have ended up with N and Suzanne.

Also I thought in that flashback we saw the passport being removed from that bag, which must be significant.

anonymice · 26/06/2018 21:28

you can see the skellington key fob in episode 2 quite clearly when they pinch the phone. The camera zoomed in on it at that time. It's only a brief shot but you do see it.

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 26/06/2018 21:31

Do miss the two episodes on a Saturday night! So much to remember and puzzle over from week to week.
I can see why the BBC wanted to spin it out - last ever series and all that - but I was surprised it didn't get much fanfare in advance unless I missed it.

ElasticFirecracker · 26/06/2018 21:49

@anonymice but what I didn't understand was why they were so frightened of being in the car with her, what it meant to them. Or were they just being hyper-vigilant?

SirVixofVixHall · 26/06/2018 21:52

They know that the phone belonged to the killer , they were told in the police station.

helzapoppin2 · 26/06/2018 21:58

Well, if they go straight to the police it will show that the youngsters, them and Christoffer, at least have common sense.

HollowTalk · 26/06/2018 22:00

Those young sisters were great, though, weren't they?
