Mine was watching England vs Germany in 2001 with my dad and uncle while my mum and aunt went to the pub

yy to Andy Pandy, Bill and Ben, Woodentops and (slightly later) Trumpton, Camberwick Green and Chigley. I loved them all. Does anyone remember HR Puffenstuff? I don't know anyone else who remembers it, but it was my favourite programme when I was around 6 or 7.

Interesting that the OP hasn't returned isn't it? Writing the article as we type.

Yes to HR Puffinstuff , we loved the song too, you're my vintage! How about on white horses? ( possibly not its title)

I remember the On White Horses song, but I haven't got a clue what the programme was about! Other great children's TV theme tunes of the era - The Flashing Blade (very stirring), Skippy the Bush Kangaroo, The Double Deckers and Gilligan's Island.

Mornington yes I remember (vaguely) HR Puffenstuff, mainly the fact that my older sis fancied Jack Wilde! I also have some memory of White Horses and a bit of a Carpenteresque theme tune?

What about Robinson Crusoe too? It was always on before The Double Deckers I think, which I loved.

Randomly, the music box from Camberwick Green used to scare me stiff, I didn't like the fact it swallowed up each of the characters...it was like a horror film to my 3 yr old self!

Although I’m sure I had watched things like playschool etc before hand, my very first memory is watching Neighbours in the 80’s. Must have been prior to 1987 as it was at our first house before we moved.
I remember because Kylie Minogue was just bringing music out and I had an argument with my brother as I didn’t believe that it was the same person as Charlene.

Mine is sadly the snooker when my dad brought home a colour telly for the first time and he wanted to watch it.
