Starts 4th March in US I'm still looking for UK date. I'm looking forward to watching this especially with the addition of Audra McDonald Smile

Kalinda became a ridiculous and sleazy character towards the end of her character on TGW. I wonder if that was because of the rumoured real life rift between Archie Punjabi and Julia Margulies?

TomRavenscroft · 01/05/2018 11:42

Marissa is Eli's daughter???

Yes! I think she was introduced in The Good Wife as having been away travelling, and she needed a job/work experience. She has a more major role in TGF than she did in TGW though.

I really want Eli back.

Grassyass · 01/05/2018 11:54

I loved Marissa in TGW and I'm glad she has a bigger role in TGF. She was even better when sparring with Eli though.
My least favourite character is Adrian. I get that they want a senior partner with gravitas but I think he just doesn't give off any charisma whatsoever.
Entertaining recaps on this website

WomaninGreen · 01/05/2018 17:47

I didn't like Adrian till the tv panel show episode
Now I understand him.

Didn't Eli drop his trousers in front of a VIP "to make it easier for you to kiss my ass"? Grin

WomaninGreen · 04/05/2018 01:40

I thought tonight's episode was excellent

Little unsure about the Jay storyline but otherwise, really well done

Clearly I need to find out more about the Dump era judiciary.

Cocolepew · 04/05/2018 08:17

Oh I forgot to watch it!

TomRavenscroft · 04/05/2018 15:42

Woman I didn't like Adrian till the tv panel show episode. Now I understand him.

Can you expand on that? I don't really 'get' Adrian and am not sure I like him more after seeing him hamming it up for the TV and then in court.

WomaninGreen · 04/05/2018 17:52

I mean "like" as in appreciate the character

I feel as if Adrian has had his realisation about image, the projection, the control, the times you need to mix it up in order to throw people off.

Very relatable work place/career scenario.

Before that he just seemed two dimensional to me.

TomRavenscroft · 04/05/2018 18:32

I see; thanks, Woman. That makes sense. I still find him quite two-dimensional, I have to say. Maybe it's the actor –I think his acting is a bit broad.

So Jay finally comes back. And promptly quits. Presumably he'll be back.

But remember when that young associate faked the ricin attack? Jay tricked him into confessing, promised to take it no further and then handed him over to the police. Marissa said it was harsh and Jay said something like "I don't work for him. I work for the firm".

And now Adrian is saying essentially the same thing about Jay's mate in prison. Adrian doesn't work for Jay's mate, he works for his client and for the benefit of the firm. I'm sure Jay will eventually acknowledge that Jay has been complicit in doing what he is now criticising Adrian for doing.

Yes, it was a good episode. Diane has troubles galore. Adrian is growing on me. And nice to see Julius in an actual court room. And he didn't even mention Trump in there. Quite the departure.

Popchyk · 12/05/2018 19:48

Spoke too soon.

We're back on Trump again. Which is quite annoying because you've got a great ensemble cast there and some interesting characters.

Still liking this series better than series 1 though.

WomaninGreen · 14/05/2018 11:15

I don't really understand the Dump issue. The whole season is predicated on Dump, it's marked as Day xx or whatever, so there's not much point watching if you're not interested in a drama based on that?

I think the writers need awards. "first as tragedy, second as farce, third as porn" - did someone run that past Zizek? Grin

Aridane · 14/05/2018 12:10

Oh I'm so thick. I had no idea the Day X was post Trump stuff Blush.

I found Marissa quite annoying and self-righteous in the latest episode (Marissa is the PI, isn't she)

dairyfarmerswife · 14/05/2018 21:01

Just caught up. Marissa is a bit pleased with herself, and seems never to crack a hollow but.

I'm enjoying it though, the familiar characters from the Good Wife alongside the new ones.

pastabest · 17/05/2018 21:08

Lemond Bishop and Colin Sweeny in this episode.

Wonder where this is going!?

pastabest · 17/05/2018 21:11
Shock
twodrinkswithlunch · 17/05/2018 21:15

I looked away for a second (shovelling pizza in my face) and missed the shooting! Did we see who was in the lift?

pastabest · 17/05/2018 21:18

I don't think so but I was just finishing my previous post when it happened, so I missed it too!

twodrinkswithlunch · 17/05/2018 21:36

Aaaaah! I may have to watch again on catch up, was a bit unsure about this series but it’s suddenly picked up in this episode. Knew Jay would be back Grin

northender · 17/05/2018 23:16

What was that last scene all about? Is Jay bad? Agree that it has really picked up over the last few episodes, overall I'm enjoying it.

NoMorePills · 18/05/2018 00:06

I was watching something else but I did not need to see Bishop again.

As long as no one shot Diane, I'm okay....

doodlejump1980 · 18/05/2018 08:47

Surely it’s only a matter of time before Alicia comes back..,?

DontDrinkDontSmoke · 18/05/2018 08:56

Surely it’s only a matter of time before Alicia comes back..,?

I hope not.

AuntFidgetWonkhamStrongNajork · 18/05/2018 11:06

What? Is Jay bad?

NotPennysBoat · 18/05/2018 13:39

Whaaaaat? Is Jay the lawyer-killer???
