Starts 4th March in US I'm still looking for UK date. I'm looking forward to watching this especially with the addition of Audra McDonald Smile

We're up to series 2 episode 4 in the UK. In US they showed episode 6 yesterday so we're only behind by 2 episodes in the UK. You can watch all of the new episodes for series 2 and catch-up on series 1 here:

Diane is having a bit of a breakdown, she was 1000% overly invested in her career and gave it her and she's been fucked over by her friends, so she can't retire, effectively having to start all over again by working at a law firm she didn't really choose because her "friends" turned their backs on her (but this firm is given her more freedom), she lost her good friend Alicia from the good wife which effectively dissolved their previous firm and her husband cheated on her. With all the lawyers being killed her new attitude to life is "fuck this"...

Bosemans ex-wife (the brilliant Audra McDonald) wasn't back stabbing Diane by telling him Diane is thinking of leaving, she was trying to protect Diane. Bosemans ex-wife has nothing to gain by making Diane her enemy.

As you can tell I'm overly invested in this TV show Grin

Liz was backstabbing Diane. I do like her though.

GeekyBlinders · 10/04/2018 08:05

How was she trying to protect Diane? I must admit, I sometimes watch with half an eye while doing other things, so I miss things, I really need to rewatch.

TwoDrifters · 10/04/2018 21:35

Liz was definitely backstabbing. After the ricin scare, she said to Diane something like “why don’t you go home and I’ll handle your deposition for you” and when Diane protested, she insisted. Then she told Adrian - when he asked where Diane was - that Diane had asked her to take over because she didn’t feel up to it.

KatieKat88 · 11/04/2018 09:40

I genuinely love this show - really enjoyed the Goof Wife but prefer this (and I love the swears but still feels jarring, just can't get used to it! Like when you first start swearing with your parents and they don't tell you off Grin)

Gutted that Diane slept with the bartender - love Kurt.

KatieKat88 · 11/04/2018 09:40

*Good Wife - eugh to typos

OneThingAndThenTheNext · 13/04/2018 19:30

Elspeth is just my favourite person ever.

soulrider · 13/04/2018 20:11

I watched the good wife on netflix, then season one of the good fight with amazon prime but I'm really struggling with having adverts interrupting on C4!

Italiangreyhound · 13/04/2018 20:36

Can I join please? I loved the Good Wife. Especially will they won't they Will and Alicia! (Loved Will too much - me not her!)

Liking this. Girl crushes on Lucca and Maia but my real love is Colin!

So the will they won't they is on again with Lucca and Colin.

(I loved Lucca's pale pink suit last week, where can I get one?)

DispatchReady · 13/04/2018 23:55

I'm enjoying this season. Love Marissa and Elspeth - it's always great when she's in it. And how much like Meryl Streep is her RL daughter?

Did we know Luca was pregnant before she told her brother?!

KatieKat88 · 14/04/2018 07:39

I love Luca and Colin - need them to get back together!!

Also I (literally) shout with joy when Elspeth shows up - DH thinks I'm mad.

Popchyk · 15/04/2018 16:47

I am really enjoying this series. There are more scenes in the office, at home, in the street, and I prefer those to the courtroom scenes.

The only minor irritant is the trying to fit contemporary events into the storyline. Trump, #metoo, that kinda thing - it can make the narrative seem a bit less natural. Although I understand why they are doing it.

I like that they've continued the female-led cast. There are male characters of course (good ones - Colin, Adrian, Jay) but the women lead the way.

I keep expecting Eli Gold to stride across Reception to take issue with Diane about something.

Italiangreyhound · 15/04/2018 17:13

Miss Eli.

tryingtocatchthewind · 15/04/2018 17:18

Another huge Good Wife/Good Fight fan here.

My husband and I have got our fingers crossed for an Eli visit, surely he’ll visit his daughter at some point!

Kinraddie · 15/04/2018 21:27

I think that was the first we heard of the pregnancy when Luca told her brother. Quite a surprise. I am really enjoying this series too now all that Maya FBI nonsense is over with.

Italiangreyhound · 15/04/2018 22:52

@Kinraddie yeah I thought she would deny it, when she yes, I was so surprised. She is so beautiful and smart, great character. (Love this new series!)

Italiangreyhound · 21/04/2018 01:33

Wow, loved this week's episode. What is Colin up to!

FloralCup · 21/04/2018 08:11

Luca is planning on having 3 days maternity leave!

Bespin · 21/04/2018 08:33

Lucy's maternity plan is brilliant and it being her she might just pull it off. Diane's raised eyebrow was brilliant when she said that. Though I do love Diane but an wondering I'd there not some strange underlying plot with her as she is seeing some very strange things lately

Aridane · 21/04/2018 08:38

Not feeling the Elspeth love!

iheartmichellemallon · 21/04/2018 11:27

I think that Diane will end up having a brain tumour or something like that.

Luca's maternity plan is sadly not unheard of in the US. I had friends who did similar (not quite so extreme but 2 weeks max & generally working during that period albeit from home).

Bespin · 21/04/2018 15:08

Yes when we have just visited people told us about the holiday issues we and I suspect maternity cover that people are in titled to because it is tied to there medical cover. Yes I really hope Diane is not ill they keep using her to make jokes about trump and I have a feeling she is seeing things that are not there the masked people was a bit strange.

Also omg elspeth is the best but in small doses you could not have her in it all the time she is great when she is there though as she is brilliant and knows she is but never shows it

Italiangreyhound · 21/04/2018 20:58

yes, 3 days! Wow. That sounds so sad.

southeastdweller · 21/04/2018 22:45

Very shocked at Luca’s three day maternity plan. So employees in the states aren’t allowed to have months off then for maternity leave via their company? They have to use their own medical insurance, is that right?

Bespin · 21/04/2018 23:04

They can take 12 weeks unpaid leave so if you are paying the bills you are not taking it off
