Martins front door is flimsy as fuck.
That glass is just begging to be smashed.
A good shove and it would fly open.

AND that ring would have to be top grade to be worth that much. It was only 4cts. Which would make Kathy’s necklace about 500k if the jewellery is all similar quality stones. It looked like glass to me.
Then when they started doing the bloody Lambeth walk - while the ring was still in the dogs stomach....God, I give up. Peppy pig is more true to life. And funnier.

Akire · 25/01/2018 23:17

The conga was just the worst. If it was save the pub on New Years Eve and half pub was drunk then maybe maybe someone might start a conga. But on a wet Thursday afternoon in January. Not so much.

Thymeout · 25/01/2018 23:17

I was wondering what Mumsnetters would think about Shirley washing the ring in the kitchen sink. No Anti-bac in sight.

Akire · 25/01/2018 23:18

I was also expecting the ring to go down the sink!

Choccywoccyhooha · 26/01/2018 00:25

Oh good grief, what in the name of Pat Butcher was that? Of all the crap that we've seen in the last twelve months, that was the ground beneath the barrel being well and truly scraped.

Theshipsong · 26/01/2018 00:27

I also don’t get it. Wrapping up the whole Weyland stupid storyline I suppose but what was the point of it. Why would Mick shout about saving the pub instead of just saying Fee never showed up or posted back the feeds. It wouldn’t be unbelievable seeing as the deeds were given back to everyone else. Kathy’s necklace must be a million if the ring was 200K. If Aidan stole all that from Ciara, where did Ciara get it? She didn’t look like she was rolling in money herself. If the jewellery is worth that much, why bother about the money Ben had, that was change compared to the jewellery? I suppose they aren’t to know he sold it for 10K but they know he doesn’t have it in France cause customs would have found it.

Is Stacey going to get Ryan involved as Lily’s father who barely knows her? Kush is lovely. Does anyone think it is unusual for customers to be waiting outside the pub for it to open. The door was barely open when Patrick and DENISE threw themselves in.? I know today was half price drinks but every day regular people queue up to get in mid morning. That’s not normal is it.

Akire · 26/01/2018 00:43

It’s still not settle because we still have what happened to the money plot. But on paper what can we do to save the Vic. Let’s have a robbery go wrong. Then we can find hidden treasure at the last hour. Horray. Knees up mother brown!

Where is Martin going to live? Not many places left at this rate. Though hoping halfwit request for M and L to keep a room If he needs it odd. Please done take him up on it!

They could least done a BBQ and a proper sign “Bye bye our sausage”

DameSquashalot · 26/01/2018 00:45

Mock’/Dire’s best bit of acting was when he said “drinks are on the house”

Akire · 26/01/2018 00:46

Since the Vic made so much money then they should be rolling in it in 6m time. Enough to get a mortgage for Tina and Shirley at least. Who wants live with your mother in law and auntie forever.

On positive note least Karen’s electric stayed on. Not sure what hours she is supposed to be doing. Seems to fit around getting kids sorted and out in the morning and time off in day and evening.

LineyS · 26/01/2018 01:00

That utter drivel with the ring was like something we used to play-act at in primary school.

Karen and Mas in the launderette. Give me a fucking break.

SoupDragon · 26/01/2018 07:49

It looked like glass to me.

I’m not sure the EE budget stretches to 4ct diamonds :)

The whole shitting dog thing was ridiculous.

BadHairDay0 · 26/01/2018 08:10

Bandit Shirley was the highlight for me!

I was trying to go cold turkey on EE, but when it's this good - who can stay away?!

eastenders 23 - NO SPOILERS-THIS MEANS NO,NOTHING,ZILCH !!!!!!!
QueenofmyPrinces · 26/01/2018 09:28

IVe just caught up with the last 4 episodes and it’s all pretty rubbish.

The whole Stacey/Martin thing is ridiculous. If I was Stacey I would have phoned the police straight away to report he’d effectively kidnapped two children that weren’t even his and was also preventing her access to her breast fed baby. What mother would actually have allowed that to happen? Bloody ridiculous.

And I can’t believe how unbothered Kush was about the fact his son was being barricade into a house with a man who wasn’t even his dad. I know he’s friends with Martin but even so - is everyone on another planet?!

And sssing as Martins name is on the Tenancy Stacey can’t actually lock him out, he could call the police about that - I’ve read enough MN posts on the AIBU and Relatiobship Forums to know that!!

I also found it silly that people came pouring into the pub when Mick opened the door at 11.30am.

And why do they need the full 200k? Surely the decent thing round be to take the 60k they need and then give the ready to Half-Way or whatever his name is.

And Jesus - how utterly annoying is Tiffany!!! I know she’s meant to be the teenage version of the Little Tiff that once graced our screen but the current characte/personality doesn’t match Little Tiff at all.

And I see there has been no follow-up on Abbi’s death - another storyline quickly forgotten.

It’s all just a bit crazy!!

The80sweregreat · 26/01/2018 09:52

Mick managed to raise 50k a while before christmas - what happened to that money, or did Weyland take that from them? i cant remember.

mrswhiplington · 26/01/2018 10:07

Is Stacey even allowed to change the locks on the house if they are only renting it? Can't remember who actually owns it.

Was really annoyed to see Whit let Stacey in the house. She has seen everything Martin has been through. I wonder what Stacey will make of Tiff being around.

The80sweregreat · 26/01/2018 10:09

I do believe that Janine Butcher owns that place as it was Pat Butcher's house and she bought it from her. i could be wrong, but its a rental and would have a letting agent dealing with the rent and so on i would imagine? You can't just change the locks like that on a rented house.

mrswhiplington · 26/01/2018 10:14

Thanks The80s. I remember now. It seems such a long time ago that Janine and Pat were ever in EE. Those were the days.Smile

nancy75 · 26/01/2018 10:27

Martin is probably down as the father on Arthur’s birth certificate, he thought he was his at first (hence calling him Arthur)
The carters paid £50 or £60k for the repairs that never got done, but that seems to have been forgotten
Just for those that live outside of London, Lambeth is in South London, nowhere near the Eastend, them doing the Lambeth walk would be a bloody long walk indeed!

yorkshireyummymummy · 26/01/2018 11:05

the80sweregreat
Apparently, according to a previous MN thread you CAN change the lock in a rental property, just as long as you replace with the original lock before you leave. Apparently!!

iknowimcoming · 26/01/2018 11:27

Just realised - poor Jay will have to deal with Abbie's funeral and her being at cokers Sad

SoupDragon · 26/01/2018 12:13

And I can’t believe how unbothered Kush was about the fact his son was being barricade into a house with a man who wasn’t even his dad. I know he’s friends with Martin but even so - is everyone on another planet?!

Why should he be bothered given Martin is raising Arthur as his own and had sole care of him whilst Stacey was unwell?

The80sweregreat · 26/01/2018 12:35

thank you, i guess that if you get permission to change the locks or there is a problem of some sort, then it should be okay? locks are loads of money though! I bet Stace won;t worry too much about all that.
I suppose Carmel will be back round shouting the odds about Arthur now they are back on the square.
Yes, Mick could ask Fi for the other money back as the 'repairs' were not done etc, but this being EE, they will forget all about that other money I guess. too busy doing the lambeth walk - oi!

Aworldofmyown · 26/01/2018 12:42

I'm actually sky + all episodes at the moment so I can skip through all the crap. Last nights episode was reduced to about 30s - awful at the moment.

Why are they wasting Lacey Turner and James Bye on this rubbish.

troodiedoo · 26/01/2018 12:47

How amazing would it be if Shirley got the Zoflora out tonight Grin

Frank butcher must be spinning like a bow tie in his grave at all this nonsense.

SoupDragon · 26/01/2018 14:24

I’m not convinced it was any more realistic back in the good old days. Frank and his bow tie being a case in point!
