Its called Residence in this country, not custody. Hopefully if the writers do decide to send Martin and Stacey through court, they'll do it in a more informative way. Maybe mention how much the fees are for filing court docs, how hard it is to pay them on a living wage, and being unable to apply for legal aid unless there's DV involved, how long the court process takes, waiting weeks and months for mediation and court dates, how much solicitors charge just for taking a telephone call from the other side, or at the very least using the correct terms for things.

You only need to read threads on MN to see that lots of people call it custody. Very few refer to it as residence even if that is the right term. It would have been odd for Martin to use “residence” I think.

Gov.UK says it's 'child arrangement orders' now. Separating couples / parents are advised to use the C100 form that goes to the family court. No lawyers necessary.

(A lot of the threads on MN blathering on about 'custody' are a load of bollocks anyway, tbh.)

I'm finding the Tiff character annoying too. It's like they've gone with an exaggerated stereotype of a teenage girl who likes to use social media. It's so over the top, with the constant pouting and hashtag references.
