I thought it was well filmed, the scenes on the ferry. Pity the story was nonsense. We seem to be spending more time discussing plot holes and inconsistencies than ever in the history of these threads!
Karen is making me uncomfortable with the casual racism. Hilarious!

The80sweregreat · 13/01/2018 12:22

yes, sounds right. Not ian 's grandchild. Louis is though.

Poor kid, already an orphan, no name and max n tanya for grandparents. Born early, mum fell off a roof and his granddad killed his father. I fear for that poor soul.

youarenotkiddingme · 13/01/2018 12:45

Perhaps the Masood ain't/uncle foster parents will take Abi baby? Maybe that's why foster caters have been bought into the square?

Or Jane comes back to take care/adopt the baby that's her step sons (the stepson that tried to kill her twice) and also the granddaughter of the man who killed her step son, tried to kill her husband, she sent down for killing her step daughter when it was actually her adopted son.

Totally normal so I don't know why we didn't think of it WinkGrin

Theshipsong · 13/01/2018 12:56

I thought there was more to the relationship that Sonja and Martin being married? If that was all, it would make much more logical if Whitney stayed with Sonia and Tiff did too. It is bizarre to stay with an ex uncle in law when your aunt lives a few houses away.

DameSquashalot · 13/01/2018 13:07

It’s really silly in soaps when characters walk into a house and start talking to someone they can’t see. Just watching catch-up (no idea why) and Jay was just rambling on to Ben. He didn’t even know if he was home.

The80sweregreat · 13/01/2018 13:13

Youare. When u put it like that ..😀

LineysRunt · 13/01/2018 13:18

I didn't watch it. We got as far as Mel in the hat at the ferry port and I just couldn't face any more nonsense. We watched a man catching a dangerous fish instead on ITV.

confusedhelpme · 13/01/2018 13:45

Literally just spat my tea out howling at:

Or Jane comes back to take care/adopt the baby that's her step sons (the stepson that tried to kill her twice) and also the granddaughter of the man who killed her step son, tried to kill her husband, she sent down for killing her step daughter when it was actually her adopted son.

confusedhelpme · 13/01/2018 13:48

@ILostItInTheEarlyNineties you are too funny. I'm sat here laughing my head off

The80sweregreat · 13/01/2018 13:50

I do believe that unnamed baby girl would be better off being adopted by a lovely couple who would love and cherish her and keep all the bad stuff away from her - including Max.
She might stand a chance then.

Akire · 13/01/2018 14:12

Youarenotkiddingme sums it up well! Surely if he was living with them and his auntie/half-brother/cousin all live under same roof. They would have good chance. Let’s just not mention all the drama.

OhTinky · 13/01/2018 15:14

That was a bizarre episode of Mel following Ben around a ferry. There was no sense of jeopardy whatsoever. Mels hat was probably the scariest thing in the episode, and I really, really don’t care who now has the money.

QueenofmyPrinces · 13/01/2018 15:39

I wish the writers did read this so they could see how utterly shit they've let EE become....

I haven't watched last night's episode yet and after reading this thread the ONLY reason I want to watch it is so I can see Mel's hat!!!!

I don't give a crap about the rest of it Grin

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 13/01/2018 15:49

Loved how even after Ben realised he was carting 48 newspapers around in a rucksack he packed them all up in his bag and continued carrying them! They must have weighed a ton. Maybe he couldn't find a bin.

The80sweregreat · 13/01/2018 15:52

The customs officer was scary - maybe she told him - in french- do not leave those here! Walford is not a nice place to visit.

arriettyspiders · 13/01/2018 15:54

"If that was all, it would make much more logical if Whitney stayed with Sonia and Tiff did too. It is bizarre to stay with an ex uncle in law when your aunt lives a few houses away."

It would make more sense to stay with Sonia you'd think (if you can tolerate Super Sonia for more than five minutes). I only guessed it might be because Whitney is Stacey's child's aunt. I've forgotten her name (!) but we don't see her much, Ryan is her father. It's Lily I think.

Theshipsong · 13/01/2018 16:15

I understood why Whitney was there ie Lily’s aunt but for Tiff to move in too seems so strange. Both houses have plenty of rooms and surely Sonia would be around there to visit at least and would be on the phone to Bianca. She has mentioned Bianca at times so they are supposed to be in touch. Robbie too would pop around to see her too. Stacey’s house is like a drop in centre at this stage with so many comings and goings.

iknowimcoming · 13/01/2018 17:07

The tiff story is weird - I'm not sure doing a runner is a common response to your mum attempting suicide and what was the pregnancy test all about Confused

Also what is the sudden competitive thing with Ian trying to put down massood? Did they have that in the past? I don't remember it - I remember massood and Jane having a thing at one point but why would Ian still be off with massood now particularly since he just binned jane phonecall when she rang him - baffling Confused

Theshipsong · 13/01/2018 17:09

Masons made a quip about Ian’s numerous marriages and Masood asked how Jane was. Ian seemed unbothered which was another bizarre reaction considering she fought for her life so recently.

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 13/01/2018 17:15

Masood does seem to have turned into a comical parody of himself. He's acting like a buffoon and just keeps pulling a funny Oops silly me face all the time while his uncle rolls his eyes.
It's weird.

arriettyspiders · 13/01/2018 17:19

What have they done to Masood? It's a real shame. He wasn't such a buffoon, he was quite witty at times I recall, without all of that nonsense.

southeastdweller · 13/01/2018 17:25

Jane cheated on Masood with Ian when her and Masood were together.

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 13/01/2018 17:32

Yes Masood used to be quite sharp and witty.
He had some brilliant scenes with Tamwar, they used to bounce off each other. He was really supportive and sensible with Shabnam. Who is this new bumbling idiot Masood? They're really pushing this rivalry with Ian that wasn't there before..!

Akire · 13/01/2018 18:07

Did he cheat? I remember something about hotel room but not sure actual did anything. Think was some drama?

Theshipsong · 13/01/2018 18:34

He cheated and lied continuously. He was always scheming and in financial difficulty. That hasn’t changed at all.
