It's that Homeland time of year again

It feels so long ago that poor Weaselly Quinn met his maker that I had to Wiki what happened last season. We were left with an easily-led Madame President, an assassination plot, Saul in prison, Quinn dead in a Jeep and Carrie's distraught face working on overtime.

But it's back! Feb 11th US which I reckon means Feb 18th UK (although last year Channel 4 didn't tell us till about a minute before kick-off, despite my pathetic emailing). . Yay!

Ah beautiful Quinn, makes a trauma-induced flashback worthwhile.

The other one was another notch on Carrie's belt, some young man linked to terrorist network that she "protected", shagged and then watched via drone as he was executed by his uncle. Fun times.

I thought the brother in law was going to be a Russian agent. An Paleys assistant. See its got me all paranoid now.

Very dramatic! I thought it was very risky that they took Dante's word that the Twitter code would shut down all the Russian activities - it could just have easily ramped up their operations to a higher level, couldn't it?

Oh yes I remember now - the young conquest who'd been at the original wedding Carrie's drone had hit, who she'd then won over with her beguiling ways, and who subsequently came to a sticky end.

No, Frannie is safe and well with not-unattractive headteacher.

Also why hasn't Yevgenin (sp?) been pulled over for using his mobile while driving yet? He's a menace to road safety, quite aside from Western democracy.

Also didn't Quinn have an odd story line when he had a fling with a very normal woman at a motel? What was that all about?? (Delayed homeland confusion)

He did indeed. Nice red-haired woman who ran the motel, not long before he headed back off to Syria dressed in black, making us think we'd never see him again. Had he declared his love for Carrie and she hadn't called back in time or something?

Well, he's done it before, to get the photo of the boy (the one that triggered internet outrage, the shooting of the hostage etc)

Still wondering about Ken Junior. He only appeared at COS after the first one was blown up. Keane was new bestie with Carrie up till then. Keane's utter volte face has never been explained, but it did coincide with Ken's arrival. So who's pulling his strings? Old Russia? Dar from prison?

As for Carrie I wouldn’t trust her to look after my fish let alone a child. Poor Frannie.

I thought Dante was playing them with the Twitter feed but obviously not. RIP Dante. Was nice knowing you.

As for Quinn he was lovely and deserved better. Poor Weasel boy. I can’t remember the name of the young boy she shagged. I seem to remember his uncle killed him. Also seem to remember the gorgeous General played by Raza. Oh my. He can come back any series.

Did she hit Franny but reimagined it so she could walk away and deal with her “real” emergency? I’m so confused. That was very hard to watch.

Hearing Brody’s name mentioned was a real jolt on the old heart!

That was Aayan that was shot in the head. Poor Aayan.

I too have had a very stressful day and sat down with my Saul snacks & wine to watch tonight's recorded episode.
Shit. The last 10 minutes were hold your breath stuff (almost, but not quite as much, as the Brodie in lift with his fingers on the bomb scenes - I didn't breathe for that!).

Beardy Russian is a loose cannon isn't he?

I have to say, I did laugh at senator paley. Both the UI comment and his ranting at his aide? When back in his office.

Also a bit of a snort when beardy told Dante he protects his people. While his grey haired person lay dying on a trolley a few rooms away from the gunshot wound he inflicted simply to gain access to the hospital. Harsh!!
