It's the latest six-part Kay Mellor drama. It's about three women, Linda, Sue and Gail, as they - according to the official blurb - struggle with the changes and responsibilities that come with being a modern woman of a certain age. Phyllis Logan, Miranda Richardson and Zoë Wanamaker lead the cast.

Very disappointed with the first episode.

The main annoyance was ZW character going on about hot flushes. How old is she meant to be as is 68 in rl. Well past that age and so are the other characters (assuming the reference was the menopause)

Probably give it another watch.

I liked it, even though I agree with pp's comments about over acting, and the 'that would never happen' factor. After all - if it were too much like real life it would be very dull.

Yes, despite the flaws I did enjoy it, far more fun than Dr Foster, for example. Have recommended to my DM!

I didnt mind it tbh. Yes it was silly and MR did have a strange accent, but i found it ok.
I bet the husband shows up - how he managed to get off a cruise liner without them noticing will be interesting to find out ( if thats what happened) probably hoping to claim the insurance and run off with Paula.

Quite enjoyed it, even though it’s cliched nonsense, but the reference to hot flushes is way off, the main characters are 60 or more, so well past that.

I missed it last night and my planner seems to have dropped it. Does anyone know when it appears on catch up? They only seem to have episode one at the moment.

We gave up on this tonight. It should be good but it isn't, it's very dull. It's cliche'd, boring and says nothing new at all about women of a certain age.

I'd like to have seen something with an emphasis on new life, new beginnings, not tired old cheating men and women not knowing how to cope. When we're all having to work longer than ever, when portfolio working is common amongst the older, semi- looking to retire generation, why can't we have something about the value older people can bring to the younger generation? Something that celebrates our wisdom and learning?

I would be annoyed if that was me, even if he used the whole ' you never cared about me' bit, when she clearly did. that set up with the women and children and cute dog looked very false as well, who lives in a set up like that? i am clearly out of touch.

60s isn’t necessarilly too old for hot flushes, my DM (late 60s) had a late and long menopause and still gets them.

Her son is gay. Has partner but also two woman have bore his children

Wonder if had sex. Ivf or turkey baster

and seems they all live in a house together - kids 2 mums ans dad and his partner

Obv drowned hubby is alive and wants to claim his insurance

SON didn’t tell his mum about his kids due to The fact she didn’t introduce him when they met his dad and wife and kids

He hates his dad and wants do try and bankrupt him for saying his mummwas too old

I really enjoyed it last week but it's just getting weird now !

Paints all the women to be weak - one who can't manage on her own & hubby was having affair for years

Other is in process of divorcing but us trying to win him back & other was a secret affair her whole life & then son has 2 secret kids & partner

Who lives as 2 couples & shares kids 😬
