So I was right. Abby is brain dead. What will happen to baby? Will they switch off machine?

Leave her in a coma for 13w and cs

or cs now and then turn off machine

Would TANYA seriously take off when both daughters in hospital

Why hasn’t lauren mentioned josh

Why havnt we seen Luke tied up

Why did fi give cafe to Kathy for £1 yet the pub for £150k

Obv the heist was for £150 so mick will do that

And if they sold for £150 what did they do with he other £100k after dog op and paying credit cards off and roof leak

Will JANE be back soon?

And bobby new head

Will wb die nye

And will kandice move to the square

I think when Max asked Cora at the hospital “Is Tanya here?” we are supposed to believe that she (Tanya) is visiting the girls off camera Confused

Loved the defacing of the Queen Vic sign Grin

Agree that it seems very disjointed atm

itshappening · 30/12/2017 00:08

I hesitate to ask but why is Robbie so despised? I didn't watch much back in the day but since his return he doesn't seem too bad...

Chipstick10 · 30/12/2017 00:30

I thought Lauren and Whitless were supposed to be best mates . Whitless was laughing and joking at the NYE party . Isn’t that a bit off ?There is no way Tanya wouldn’t be at her babies bedsides. It’s completely ludicrous

itshappening · 30/12/2017 00:42

Just a thought, but if my flat mate was lying in a hospital bed hooked up to machines I don’t think I’d be out enjoying NYE, Donna, Ben & Jay havent mentioned Abi at all.

I can't believe it, they were close! And Sonia is her cousin! Yet they all seem so happy!

OhTinky · 30/12/2017 00:53

It’s all a hot mess isn’t it?! Some characters have been awol for no reason/no proper reason all Xmas - Michelle, Louise, Dot, all the kids, Masood, Jane!

I honestly think they are trying to swiftly conclude the annus horribilis that was Eastenders 2017 and we can start 2018 afresh with no crap about Weyland.

Why is nobody remotely bothered about the fates of Abi or Lauren though? Adding my voice to the “where is Tanya?” chant.

simpson · 30/12/2017 01:02

Thinking about it…has Abi died??

Max seemed v focused on selling the properties to pay for care for Abi but before duff duff he came out of hosp looking gutted & dropped paperwork on pavement with a tear in his eye…

It will be a bit of a cop out of she dies (has died) off camera.

Choccywoccyhooha · 30/12/2017 01:31

Agree, tonight was utter tosh. So much made no sense. Why did Max leave the hospital to go to the pub? Why was Kush making sexual innuendos in front of his mum and teenage brother? Why would they have a party in the Vic after what happened a few days ago? How can Ben and Jay be so unmoved by Abbie's imminent death? How stupid can Phil, Billy, Vincent, Keanu, and Mick really be? And obviously, where is Tanya?

On the plus side, it was good to see Cora.

Justalittlelemondrizzle · 30/12/2017 01:54

What a mess! The stories are all over the place and there's no continuity whatsoever! Abbie's housemates laughing and joking in the pub and Tania suddenly going awol while she's on her deathbed! I love Cora tho and was glad to see her back. I think Max dropping the papers at the end signified him coming to terms with the prognosis. Also, why hasn't he been arrested for the murder he confessed to the Beales.
Who's looking after all the kids?
I think Mick spiked Billy's drinks to make him look like he cannot be counted on.
Why wasn't Martin desperately trying to find out where Stacey had taken the kids? If I were him, i'd atleast be ringing her Mum, instead of sitting there drinking.
Far too much going on and everything seemed a bit rushed and stuck together.
Sort it out Eastenders..

tobee · 30/12/2017 02:50

Spent most of that half hour rolling my eyes. It was really disappointing. It felt weird all the nye stuff tonight. The bit with the baby being born made me cry though and some of the bits with max and Cora but the rest was just rubbish and often embarrassing.

Didn't Sean O'Connor get in a load of 12 year old writers or something? Maybe that accounts for a lot. I think they probably have a load of sorting out to do to clear up Sean O'Connors crap tenure.

Optimist1 · 30/12/2017 06:36

You're right, tobee - SO'C has a lot to answer for.

You know at the end of some documentaries they do a quick update on the people that have featured - "John and Mary did eventually sell up and move to Margate. Jim passed away shortly after filming this programme but Jane has found happiness with the milkman" type of thing? I could cope with the new EE man doing something like that to start with a clean slate of storylines and scriptwriters! He could take the unanswered questions we've all raised on this thread as a starting point!

Kannet · 30/12/2017 07:51

When was the last non premature baby born on eastenders. It seems to be the go to story line

Akire · 30/12/2017 08:42

Optimist that is fantastic
Idea! Jane realised Ian had made her sign a pre nub for his 34th marriage so she isn’t intitled to anything , and never returns to the square!

Roll on NY day bang up half square and start again

Fustyoldcarcass · 30/12/2017 08:46

When was the last non premature baby born on eastenders. It seems to be the go to story line

I know. I wouldn't want to be pregnant here. Nobody ever carries to full term. If I ever get pregnant again I'll avoid EE as I know how much I worry!

Babbitywabbit · 30/12/2017 10:49

Anyone else thinking Mick is scheming to drop Aidan in the shit? Can’t believe Mick would do a u turn and agree to be part of Aidan’s job after promising Linda he’s out of it. He bared his soul to Aidan in front of Phil and the others and was humiliated; he’s clearly spiked Billy’s drink to incapacitate him and I reckon is determined to drop Aidan in the shit. Then a quick new year whip round in the Vic will raise the money for fhe Carters to stay Smile

Agree about everything being very disjointed and hopefully 2018 will bring some better scripts and directing.

nancy75 · 30/12/2017 10:52

Micks not clever enough to scheme

Babbitywabbit · 30/12/2017 11:00

He’s not the sharpest pencil in the box but there was fire in his eyes after that encounter in the funeral parlour! And he’d spiked Billy’s drink, so clearly has some capacity for forethought

Babbitywabbit · 30/12/2017 11:03

Plus the brick under the Christmas tree, the gun in the crisps and Aidan’s call to the police... Aidan has been playing mick and it would be far more realistic for mick to want to get back at him rather than risk getting involved in the job himself.
On the other hand if we’re talking about realistic then probably EE writers will do the opposite Grin

Rachel0Greep · 30/12/2017 11:48

When Max was handed the baby Sad... Jake Wood is a class actor.
The sooner that sh1t storyline of Aidan is done with, the better. And I agree re nobody seeming to give a tuppeny damn about Abi and Lauren.

qazxc · 30/12/2017 11:53

I think the last scene was the penny dropping for Max that Abby was gone,no matter what treatment she got. That's why he let go of the papers, there was no point in them anymore.

Babbitywabbit · 30/12/2017 12:03

Max scatters paperwork; relevant document happily blows over to Albert Square, Linda Carter picks it up and whoopee, the Vic is theirs with no great pay out needed. Meanwhile Nurse Sonia’s healing hands have Lauren’s fractured pelvis mended and she’s up and about early January. Jane returns and takes on Abi’s baby - she has form for rescuing other people’s offspring, and given that she still dotes on Bobby after he paralysed her, I’m sure she’ll overlook the matter of the baby’s Dad having shot her. Martin will win Stacey back with a cabbage. Mick will screw Aidan over and land him back in prison. Billy will wake up to find it’s 2018 and he missed all the fun

mrswhiplington · 30/12/2017 12:19

Did Tanya bring Oscar with her when she returned to Walford? If not, what did she do with him?

Loved Cora belting Max. She shouldn't have apologised though, he deserved it.

I wonder if Shirley will figure out what is going on with Mick and Aiden. She was definitely doing the glare at the end. Hopefully she'll put a spanner in the works.

iknowimcoming · 30/12/2017 12:27

Also someone should tell the producers that selling property isn't quite as simple as handing over a photocopy of the deeds in exchange for a fistful of £50 notes Hmm likewise you can't just give the deeds back to whomever they previously belonged to and hey presto it's theirs again (which is what Max said he was doing with the deeds to josh). Hmm

iknowimcoming · 30/12/2017 12:31

I'm with Optimist1 - if someone could just hold a piece of paper up to the camera at the start on Monday's episode with the answers to all the questions we've been asking, and then 'now let's put this whole sorry business behind us and move on' at the bottom in capital letters that would be fine with me Wink

nancy75 · 30/12/2017 12:46

Maybe they could just have Jane waking up & pass the whole of last year off as a dream

youarenotkiddingme · 30/12/2017 13:29

Billy will wake up and discover it's 2018 😂😂😂

I totally agree that they are doing damage limitation from SOC cock ups and they need to leave some of the gaping holes he produced open because they just can't close them. But that they will lead to better storylines. It's already improved ten fold even with the plot holes. At least some of the episodes have had us watching and waiting with anticipation.
