So I was right. Abby is brain dead. What will happen to baby? Will they switch off machine?

Leave her in a coma for 13w and cs

or cs now and then turn off machine

Would TANYA seriously take off when both daughters in hospital

Why hasn’t lauren mentioned josh

Why havnt we seen Luke tied up

Why did fi give cafe to Kathy for £1 yet the pub for £150k

Obv the heist was for £150 so mick will do that

And if they sold for £150 what did they do with he other £100k after dog op and paying credit cards off and roof leak

Will JANE be back soon?

And bobby new head

Will wb die nye

And will kandice move to the square

I'm wondering if we're watching the end of soaps. They could have fallen into the crack between reality TV for domestic real-life small-scale drama and high budget, long-running series full of action and excitement. Both EE and Corrie now seem to rely on big-scale disasters, murder and mayhem to keep their audiences. Before, it was character-based, who said what down the pub.

The80sweregreat · 07/01/2018 14:07

This could well herald the end of EE - unless there is some kind of spin off show or they go back to twice a week or something - everything that can happen has happened to one tiny little bit of london -probably the reason that the stories are becoming every more bizarre and far fetched - doesnt help when actors want time off or just leave - they have to find ways of writing them out of it ( or back in it, if they want to come back) coming up with new ideas all the time cant be easy.
about the only thing they havent done is alien abductions, but i am sure that might happen one day. The alien's would give Linda Shirley or Ian back straight away though!

The80sweregreat · 07/01/2018 14:08

.. Sonia would just help with the Aliens with their ' investigations' or first aid requirements.

Jassylaunderette · 07/01/2018 14:25

I was forced to watch Corrie as a child, well not really but it was usually on the TV. I saw a couple of episodes in more recent years and daft doesn't quite cover it. Worryingly EE is started to remind me of that.

Emmerdale I haven't seen since the Emmerdale Farm days with Seth and Amos, and Ma and her boys. I'm guessing that's changed a bit

Jassylaunderette · 07/01/2018 14:27

And Henry Wilkes! Sorry, just reminiscing there.

Thymeout · 07/01/2018 15:12

80s - Perhaps that's what's happened to Jane, Tanya and Luke. They've fallen into a Black Hole. We just don't know it yet.

The80sweregreat · 07/01/2018 15:52

Yes, the luke thing is really annoying. They must have wondered why he did not show up for his Turkey dinner at Christmas at least!

Theshipsong · 07/01/2018 16:02

But who would wonder!

Josh and Luke fell out.

His father is now in a coma/dead.

His sister ran off.

His mother is dead.

He beat up his boyfriend.

His uncle has enough to do as presumably he is now doing all their jobs so has enough on his plate.

The80sweregreat · 07/01/2018 16:13

Yes, true. They have given up on Luke.

cafeaulaitpourvous · 07/01/2018 16:50

@Jassylaunderette I remember mr Wilkes!

The last time I watched Emmerdale it was Emmerdale Farm and mr Wilkes had to move into the wool pack with Amos because his house had burned down....

I think it was a long time ago!!!!

Trashboat · 07/01/2018 20:14

My sister hasn't watched EE for years and one day I got a message from her 'just flicked on EE and Ians beales dead mum is having a coffee with Bonnie Langford WTF?' Grin

Figgygal · 07/01/2018 21:41

That's entire robbery plot was bollocks if I carried on to next week I'll be switching off until it's over

Akire · 07/01/2018 22:01

Don’t really care about the money... can’t we just drop story?? How is Vincent supposed to give up the bar without any questions? Or is he now at Aidens beck n call for every hamster job going?

New stories please! Like Carmel’s new job, Donna starting own business. Downside planning on studying after great GCSE fiasco of brain of Britain.

Sonia could get job as District nurse with all her experience and then have extra reason to be in and out of houses. What’s happening with Ian’s diet and Diabeties risk? Surely he’d love have Sonia pop around tests his bloods every day.

TeaAndToast85 · 07/01/2018 23:44

@Trashboat that just made me proper LOL Grin

BadHairDay0 · 08/01/2018 05:54

Great ideas for stories Akire. There really is loads of potential for proper soap material and those day-to-day, heartfelt moments. We don't need all this sensational, disaster nonsense.

Thanks everyone for the Corrie / Emmerdale info. Interesting to hear all soaps are struggling at the mo. Might give Emmerdale a go anyway, just for a comparison.

The80sweregreat · 08/01/2018 06:24

Akire, its so true, they have so much potential to make proper story lines about real life issues but choose silly plot lines instead.

RadioDorothy · 08/01/2018 07:26

Trashboat that made me guffaw

The80sweregreat · 08/01/2018 09:01

When Bonnie Langford first came in the show i thought she was just a bit of a ' bit part' a kind of ' guest appearance' , but she has been in it years now. I felt sorry for her over the Max humiliation with Fi, but otherwise her character is a bit wishy washy i think.

Figgygal · 08/01/2018 09:06

Dh only realised Carmel was bonnie Langford about a month ago Shock

Optimist1 · 08/01/2018 09:14

The80s - in these times of heists, deaths, cons and double-crossings I'm quite grateful for a bit of wishy washy! Grin

The80sweregreat · 08/01/2018 09:19

Yes. I guess shd is a bit more normal than some of the others!

Akire · 08/01/2018 09:26

Thanks :) actually thinking about it Karen could easily have a market stall part timearound the boys. She would know lots of people like big Mo and have lots of story lines! She would also finally have enough electric to last the week.

They are making big deal about market going or staying so might as well use it. Someone could set up a murder /criminal tour of the west end (they not have to go far) and met a real Life easy end criminal (every other person)

The pub could open morning for toddler groups/library space/other classes. They make
Money there and take Back community centre space. It’s january the square needs a fat fighters meeting back. Super Sonia to rescue.

Had anyone noticed Chell went to Australia about month ago and had t returned? Hope she dosnt come
Back with 18y tanned toned backpacker!

The80sweregreat · 08/01/2018 10:09

Akire. You dhould submit your ideas to the BBC ! Things revolving around the community centre is a great idea.

Thymeout · 08/01/2018 11:47

Akire Great ideas. My local now does children's parties.

Re wishy-washy, I'm feeling quite nostalgic for the days when a whole programme was devoted to a monologue from Dot.

Bluelonerose · 08/01/2018 13:09

The way all the soaps are going I wouldn't be surprised if dirty den has come back from the dead again and took the money. Grin
