yes, it was a bit more 'talkie' years ago wasnt it? when Chelle came home to tell Pauline she was having Den's baby, mum was ironing ( the towels probably) and she had to just tell her, none of this finding a pregnancy stick in the rubbish or overhearing it in the Vic ladies toilet or by letter or whatever, just ' mum , i'm pregnant' - the monologue with Dot and her recorder was also well done. It was never always perfect ' back in the day' but it was lot more people focused.

yes, the Luke thing is a huge mystery - he left in that van ages ago now. I know that nobody in his family care ( James was last seen in hospital, the others dont care etc ) but Hugo is still around running the business - luke was a big player at the firm, you would think they would be wondering where he had gone, even if he has form for ' going off' etc etc. He has only just got out of prison.
Its as if the writers have just forgotten him.
