So I was right. Abby is brain dead. What will happen to baby? Will they switch off machine?

Leave her in a coma for 13w and cs

or cs now and then turn off machine

Would TANYA seriously take off when both daughters in hospital

Why hasn’t lauren mentioned josh

Why havnt we seen Luke tied up

Why did fi give cafe to Kathy for £1 yet the pub for £150k

Obv the heist was for £150 so mick will do that

And if they sold for £150 what did they do with he other £100k after dog op and paying credit cards off and roof leak

Will JANE be back soon?

And bobby new head

Will wb die nye

And will kandice move to the square

I wonder if the scene with Ben&jay was filmed yesterday afternoon after script writers read this bloody thread it was so dropped in 😕I don't understand how Billy Mitchell can be so stupid and not to his actual job burying people .

QueenAmongstMen · 04/01/2018 09:26

I think the ending where the body fell out of the coffin and rolled about on the floor was so crass and unnecessary. There will have been people watching that episode last night who have been recently bereaved and I think to make such a childish joke/mockery out of it was a very bad move by the writers.

Surely it would have been quite sufficient just to remove the lid normally and show there was a person in the coffin without having to resort to the inappropriate scenes that they did.

The80sweregreat · 04/01/2018 09:32

her flamingo pyjamas are really nice. i want a pair, but i doubt they would do my size! they need to tone down the crass talk and not show any more dead bodies either. its all wrong.
that aside, lets hope this is all wrapped up soon.

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 04/01/2018 09:34

Finally caught up and agree, EE has moved to a parallel universe. Shock

Although the heist story is cringingly bad I must be the only one finding it highly entertaining Grin All the regulars involved seem to be acting completely out of character, especially Linda who has morphed into a gangster's moll from the Kray era.

I reckon Aiden swapped the coffins so Billy would think he cremated the loot. Billy will now get all the blame and Aiden will run off with his blonde ex (?) who looks half his age and all the money.

Can't wait to see Son's face when she hears there's a new nurse on her patch. Grin Thank goodness she's busy giving Max advice as a pseudo medical lawyer.

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 04/01/2018 09:37

Good point, the body falling out of the coffin was really crass. Far too slapstick to fit in with the rest of the programme.

The80sweregreat · 04/01/2018 09:40

ilost, i think that too about the coffins, on the spoilers thread i have a theory !! ( probably all wrong) lets hope that Vincent and Mick can keep the pubs ( not that the Albert is rammed or even open much) and it all goes back to normal a bit more. no more dead bodies rolling around, that was bad enough when they had that happen with nasty nick being 'dead' once.

dogsdinnerlady · 04/01/2018 09:43

It's getting like that spoof soap on Vic Wood show. Acorn Antiques. But not so subtle and clever.

The80sweregreat · 04/01/2018 09:47

Acorn Antiques! its a shame that Victoria Wood is no longer with us as she could have knocked out something funny around this soap.
I watched a film on netflix called ' death at the funeral '( i think it was called that>) with keeley hawes and a lot of other english actors, this reminds me of that film a bit.

Figgygal · 04/01/2018 09:47

I'm. Now 2.5 hours behind based on this thread I don't think I can be arsed catching up. Can anyone give me an overview of wat happened and save me the pain of sitting through what sounds like total rubbish

CompassionateKebab · 04/01/2018 10:00

I am just gob smacked at its awfulness.

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 04/01/2018 10:02

Quick overview for figgy..

The heist went wrong. Mick got shot and although the gun was only six inches away from him it only grazed his arm.
Ali's being kept alive on a machine although Max is refusing to believe it and trying to get a court order to prevent machine being turned off. Lauren is basically fine now after falling face first off the Vic roof.
Aiden is messing everyone about and holding whispered meetings in the funeral parlour about the missing loot, involving Billy, coffins and hilarious references to dead people. Hmm

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 04/01/2018 10:06

Will have a look at your theory on the spoilers thread 80''s. I was just guessing about the switched coffins, hope that's not classed as a spoiler! < hides from Blondes>

SinisterBumFacedCat · 04/01/2018 10:08

Cheers MotherofaSurvivor Grin

The three of us are coming for your cash, jewellery and stash of Whiskers.

iknowimcoming · 04/01/2018 11:11

Aidan can't be about to double cross everyone and do a runner with the cash and his ex since the ex was the person he robbed and it was supposedly his stuff/cash he nicked wasn't it? I appreciate nothing makes sense anymore however ....

Perhaps if the writers are really reading this thread they could give us a sign? How cool would that be? Can we think of something that could easily be shoehorned in but obscure enough that we would know it was 'our sign'? Suggestions? Can't think of anything currently - a reference to an old character perhaps? I mean I'd prefer them to actually concentrate on writing something decent but you know ........

FairfaxAikman · 04/01/2018 11:19

@iknowimcoming Sharon telling Linda to cancel the cheque to the cheeky fucker elderly Korean lady, while munching on Pom Bears and naice ham? Smile

bluebell34567 · 04/01/2018 11:31

I think Aidan knew the man who took the previous coffin and the money was there. they will run off with it.

arriettyspiders · 04/01/2018 11:34

I can't bear Linda, I'm afraid I can't see past the gaudy pink and the royalty obsession (ardent republican here Grin). In fact, I'd like to see all the Carters ousted from the Vic, though I have no ideas for their replacements.

I fell from chair height onto a wooden floor a few months ago, I had more facial bruising than Lauren! It took weeks to disappear.

southeastdweller · 04/01/2018 12:42

especially Linda who has morphed into a gangster's moll from the Kray era.
Yep, the personality transplant is annoying.

I thought the corpse falling out of the coffin yesterday was appalling. Distasteful and inappropriate.

I'm really hoping that John Yorke (the new boss) reads all the online criticism there's been this week and gets rid of the crap writers who've scripted the past few episodes.

The80sweregreat · 04/01/2018 13:22

My dh doesnt like Linda either, he isnt as into it all as i am, but even he said her voice is annoying and he couldnt live with her! I had to remind him its a silly soap, but he was pretty serious. lol. She has gone from needy woman to gangsters moll fairly quickly. this may be a good thing though!

Thymeout · 04/01/2018 13:23

It's a pity about the script. It's so uneven. Shirley has had some good one-liners and Martin's speech to Stacey was spot on, but I'm getting v tired of Max. One cliche after another. 'You're a fighter, just like your mother, etc etc'.

I think the overall story-line must have been plotted months ago and they're stuck with it. I agree with pp that it's not answering any of the questions we want answered. I don't give a damn about Aidan and Ciara and the heist. But I really want it all to come out about Jane and the fire and for Max to get his come-uppance.

Thymeout · 04/01/2018 13:25

80s - I agree with your DH. It was really painful listening to her nag, nag, nag yesterday. I just wanted her to shut up.

Theshipsong · 04/01/2018 13:35

I think Linda has a lovely figure but the wardrobe dept keep squeezing her into clothes that don’t suit her shape and would be hard to suit anyone’s tbh.

I agree re the coffin scene. They wouldn’t even do that if it was the Abbie character lying in one and certainly haven’t given one thought to the people who are recently bereaved.

I like Masood’s aunt. Was she a Dr or a nurse?

Rachel0Greep · 04/01/2018 13:47

I agree about the coffin scene. Very distasteful. It would have been just as easy to portray the fact that the coffin contained a body without doing that.

LineysRunes · 04/01/2018 14:05

Tanya has variously been described now by Max as having 'gone to pieces', and 'supposed to be visiting Lauren'. Neither really make sense either separately or together. For her not to be an active party in any court application - given she's supposed to be knocking around the hospital - is impossible.

Theshipsong · 04/01/2018 14:14

Another thing I really disliked was the reference to bondage by Kim when she saw the wrist ties on Vincent. I found it uncomfortable.
