So I was right. Abby is brain dead. What will happen to baby? Will they switch off machine?

Leave her in a coma for 13w and cs

or cs now and then turn off machine

Would TANYA seriously take off when both daughters in hospital

Why hasn’t lauren mentioned josh

Why havnt we seen Luke tied up

Why did fi give cafe to Kathy for £1 yet the pub for £150k

Obv the heist was for £150 so mick will do that

And if they sold for £150 what did they do with he other £100k after dog op and paying credit cards off and roof leak

Will JANE be back soon?

And bobby new head

Will wb die nye

And will kandice move to the square

yeah, that Mc Mafia thing is very confusing. only nice bit is me drooling over James norton ( next Bond i reakon!) He looks cool in a tux.
tobee, this is EE where they let criminals go and just shine a light on blood and think ' nothing to see here' after an armed robbery. I doubt they are interested in deeds or forged documents at Walford nick.
I hate to be a know it all, but our neighbour has milk delivered each day!! they are still about, but its a rare beast. there is a always a milk float in EE.

The80sweregreat · 03/01/2018 16:05

This is turning into Mc Walford.

OhTinky · 03/01/2018 16:07

I don’t understand any of the shite heist scenes so less said the better. The scene between Max and saint Sonia was so awkward, I’d forgotten they were related. In addition to where is Tanya? Where is Cora? Also when Max and Fi “defeated” Wilmott Brown did Max get loads of money? Shelling out for a lawyer for a negligence case can’t be cheap?! I don’t know why I’m still watching, it’s pretty terrible viewing at the moment!

southeastdweller · 03/01/2018 16:13

There's an episode on tonight at 8.

youarenotkiddingme · 03/01/2018 16:16

Yeah - bloody inconvenient timing!
Ds returns to swim training tonight at 6.30. Therefore I need him straight out and dressed to get home and watch it! I know it's shote but I'm hoping it'll clear up some of the questions?!

tobee · 03/01/2018 16:18

Omg! I did not know their was an episode on tonight, I can I contain my excitement for another three hours and 42 minutes!Xmas Grin

tobee · 03/01/2018 16:19

How can I, even.

tobee · 03/01/2018 16:19

There not their. Blush

hotwaterbottler · 03/01/2018 16:22

Was anyone else expecting to see luke in the back of the van?

This halfway guy best not be a regular character. He is awful. How many glasses did he manage to smash when stood behind the bar??

I also think the abi storyline has been rushed and should have been dealt with properly about the baby and switching off the life support machine. Her housemates grieving. Nora and Tanya hanging around the hospital more than one episode. Lauren having at least a broken arm or something. After all the build up over Xmas it's just been poorly done with.

LineysRumBaba · 03/01/2018 16:36

I think it just gets worse from here on in.

  • Max with his court application for an injunction, with Tanya always 'just off getting a coffee from the machine' - the judge would want to talk to both parents

  • the deeds to all these properties having no actual connection to the land registry whatsoever - leaving massive questions of legal ownership and possession

  • children everywhere with dead, criminal and murdering parents - all of it swept under the carpet, but Karen's the one improbably threatened with social services and jail over a minor civil debt

  • too many people whispering their lines - did the director train at the School of Hissing for Maximum Intensity?

  • stretching credibility over police procedure - portraying plod as a bunch of cardboard cutouts in order to backdrop the one PC they want us to be interested in is really lazy writing

  • too many new and returning people with too many sub-plots - The Usual Suspects, this ain't.

Babbitywabbit · 03/01/2018 16:43

They’ve very obviously got some writers who want to shoe horn in some witticisms at the moment- the ‘stiff’ comment in the funeral parlour, some of Shirl and Linda’s lines and also the swearing in Urdu auntie. Which would be ok if there were half decent story lines to hang them into. It just feels like they’re trying to have a clean sweep after the disastrous plots throughout 2017 but are rushing through it and relying on a few cheap comedy moments to see it through. Some one needs to tell them the funnies are only funny when they’re part of great storylines and good characterisation.

And YY to the poster who mentioned Kim being wasted. The actor is genuinely good, but nothing about the roles hangs together. Why would Vincent get himself into money problems by standing back and allowing Kim to stack up his credit card bills. She brings nothing to the relationship apart from an insatiable appetite for sexy time ... it would be far more realistic if Vincent gave her some ultimatums. She was even paying Denise to nanny for her for a while - obviously an essential for a non working woman! There are some great characters who are just being under used at the moment.

The80sweregreat · 03/01/2018 16:52

I only watch it for this thread - I am hanging on to it’s glory days too I suppose as well. Plus it’s something to watch that is mildly entertaining and I can sort of follow. I would miss it if it was axed tbh. It provides a laugh or two,

OtterInDisgrace · 03/01/2018 16:59

I’m not sure if this has been answered already, but where the fuck is Tanya?!

Even if Jo Joyner is working on something else surely given the seriousness of the storyline they could find some way for er to be in it!

OtterInDisgrace · 03/01/2018 17:00

‘Her’ not ‘er’. I dropped me aitch there without meaning to

The80sweregreat · 03/01/2018 17:13

Tanya is a poor show, you would be there all the time if you could in real life - not swanning off doing other things or panto or where ever she is meant to be. it is a plot hole too far really.
even Cora has disappeared. still, they might show up tonight now Lauren is up and about to see the new baby. Poor thing.

WaitroseCoffeeCostaCup · 03/01/2018 17:14

I missed the beginning last night and am so confused! When Mick said 'it's you' and it was the guy now working behind the bar...who is he?!

southeastdweller · 03/01/2018 17:15

Yesterday's episode was one of the worst I've seen in the 33 years I've been watching EE and I'm surprised it got past the new boss to broadcast stage. I read that he brought in Simon Ashdown for the Christmas episode who wrote the Christmas Day 2007 episode (Staceygate) so it's not like he's incapable of making the right decisions. God knows why he authorised the last two episodes by two different writers - maybe they were contracted by the dreaded SoC before he started?

MrsJayy · 03/01/2018 17:21

That poor poor no name baby who will look after her ? I wonder if the actress who plays Abi is pissed off her character is killed off and Lauren has a broken pelvis

Optimist1 · 03/01/2018 17:32

He's supposed to be an old friend of Lee's, Waitrose - but I think I'm right in saying none of us remembers him featuring before!

If I was planning a heist I'd be looking for an inconspicuous place to do it with an easy getaway route or two - definitely not the Arches! I'd select skilled people I trust and who trust each other - definitely not the mismatched numpties that Aidan brought together. I'm almost tempted to take to a life of crime just to prove I can do better! Wink

The80sweregreat · 03/01/2018 17:35

They blew the budget on the roadblock. Couldnt go out the square for too long! 😃

MrsJayy · 03/01/2018 17:40

I am not even sure what they were trying to rob it was all nonsense 😕

TheFlis12345 · 03/01/2018 17:56

Odds on Aidan stashing the loot in a coffin and Billy accidentally cremating it??

tobee · 03/01/2018 18:20

I wonder how much say they get in how they leave ie dead or taxi. Lorna's been in longer than Jaqueline. Not that that necessarily makes a difference.

They always say they want to leave and explore other roles and feel their character has run out of possibilities etc. And then they come back anyway.

Chipstick10 · 03/01/2018 18:39

I disagree. I don’t think Jake wood has played a blinder. I think he is awful. Can’t do any other emotion except aggression. Even when he is supposed to be portraying sadness and despair I can’t buy into it, I don’t feel empathy , he doesn’t take me with him. He’s just aggressive . As for the episode. I have never in my thirty odd years of watching Eastenders seen such utter garbage. I’m almost speechless

OtterInDisgrace · 03/01/2018 18:46

I think Jake Wood is brilliant at crying. Whether he conveys anything through his tears is another matter but he can cry at the drop of a hat.
