Well it’s quite obvious that the plan to knock down the square and replace it with flats isn’t going to happen, as that will be the end of EE, so it’s going to be interesting to see how they all get out of this mess.
I suspect that Aiden’s plan is going to have something to do with it.

I actually thought Carmel was going to confront Max when she saw him when she was outside with Denise. When she said "I've got this" whilst looking at Max I thought she was going go over there and tell him what a nasty, cowardly dickhead he is. I was quite disappointed when I realised she hadn't and had instead just gone straight to the police station where she didn't report him anyway.

My guess about Mick is that he goes get all gangstery and they somehow kill all the Wilmott-Browm people in a very staged accident.

Talking of accidents - it all seems to have died down about Janet being knocked over and her smiling mother doesn't seem to care that it's all been forgotten about.

Bad idea for Carmel to go to the police. She'd have a hard job convincing anyone that she didn't pass on the file to Max in the end, because that was exactly what she was planning to do. She's only got his word that he didn't read the figures off her laptop. She left it there all ready for him. So she'd be jobless as well as homeless.

Why can't Karen get a job? She's free all day.

We presume Karen dosnt have to work because gets carers allowance for boys. This would be only reason why Job centre not dragging her in every 5min or getting sanctioned. She could earn up to £100 a week before carers gets removed, but anything she did earn would get taken off her in tax credits. So presumable dosnt feel worth it and kids need her for all holidays. Though they do seem to manage to be in school most of the time, she never mentioned taking them to hospitals and to see anyone. Which is why we find hard believe she is always penniless to point of having no electric every other day.

Mick cutting finger is a metaphor for him being a rung lower than Aidan - Baby Gangsta rather than Mr Big. Mick will mess up, again.

The message is from Jane to Stacey (I think) saying she needed to speak to her about why she left - ie that max threatened her etc.

That’s a point actually. Max thinks things are bad now, wait until he’s outed about his involvement in the fire and Stephen’s death.

Jane & Stacey we’re quite close because of the gardening, she knew Max had got Ian’s phone, Kaff is an idiot so she probably didn’t have that many other people to call

Seems odd given we not even seen her POAS that she not been GP hospital. Rubbed her belly or struggling get her jeans on. Maybe they will keep us guessing up to the end. Maybe no one will believe her and she gave the baby alone locked in shed/bathroom/ pub toilet

Karen Taylor would be entitled to get child benefit for 4 children (apparently Keegan only turned 16 in Sept) = £65 a week, plus £200 a week child tax credits, plus her carer's allowance and income support, plus the boys' DLA, plus housing benefit and council tax benefit. Plus any contributions from any work that Keegan and Keanu do.

The only way a destitution story would make sense would be if it involved the family being shifted onto Universal Credit and she got a massive academy uniform bill to pay, or something like that.

Yes, that would be a good, realistic story - being stuck in private housing with spiralling rental costs, or stuck with a mortgage after husband buggers off and being left responsible for all repairs, insurance, replacement fittings etc - and maybe then Universal Credit chucked in.

But as it as been written, Karen should be just about managing.

I did enjoy Karen sizing up Auden, she reminded me of Perry from Kevin and Perry when he flirts with Mrs Patterson.

Karen would be exempt from the benefit cap because of her kids getting DLA. In fact you are exempt if you are paid carers allowance.
She has been housed by the council so presumably would have full housing benefit, council tax reduction, income support, carers premium, child benefit x 4, child tax credit x 4, DLA at some rate x 2.
No way would she be broke except if unbelievably mis managed.

Truthfully, she would be a fool to work.
