I have to say that I really dislike all the dissing of Alexandra, and Debbie to some extent, that is going on in this thread. This is generally a very positive 'peace and love' sort of thread but it is now making me feel really uncomfortable and a bit sad.

Zoe tweeted earlier today asking people to stop being so nasty about the contestants. I want to reflect that request here.

I feel really uneasy with the anti AB sentiment. The press really have it in for her and to be honest I think it is unfair. Who the hell is voting for Gemma and why?? If people were actually voting for dancing ability then Davood would have certainly got through the dance off and quite rightly.
Alexandra can be a bit gushy but Strictly is full of gushing! Giovanni's behaviour is getting a bit wearing but I don't think they should be out of competition because of it. The Molly and AJ story is clearly ridiculous but the press playing along is doing her a massive favour in the competion. Shame AB doesn't get same positive pin eh!

I love Zoe Ball. She won strictly didn't She? With Ian.

The final is changed in format this year and all four contestants will dance all 3 dances. There’s been a certain amount of conspiracy mutterings but as a viewer I remember how gutted I was to see Sophie wave goodbye wearing her Charleston costume without dancing it again, and I’d be equally gutted to miss Alexandra redoing her Jive or Joe/Debbie one of their best dances so I’m all in favour.

No Zoe didn't win she lost out to Darren Gough who won the series she was in.

Zoe and Ian reached the final but came third. She was very good.

You can always tell who the Judges want to win by which dance they pick for each finalist to do.

I don't think people are being particularly unpleasant to AB or Debbeh or anyone else on this thread, just saying it how they see it. I've not read any other press/media stuff on any of them so don't know if there is any back story. I'm not keen on AB as she come across to me (personal opinion) as someone not very sincere. I could be entirely wrong, but this is just how I perceive her public SCD persona. If I said "oooh they are all sooo lovely and I want them all as my bestest friends" I'd be the one being insincere! It's human nature to take to some people more than others.

And schaden it is nowhere near Christmas yet. Plenty of time for the fuzzyone to have a short break chez sassy before he makes his way to yours. When can I have him back?

@CurbsideProphet he said exactly that, "dance for your mum" but as she was already looking/feeling fragile at being in the dance off it definitely did set her off.

She was very upset, had to sit down, Tess was comforting her. They took a break whilst she composed herself then they filmed again, and in the results show they spliced the two segments together to avoid showing her in such distress. I'm sure they edit like this all the time and I was pleased they cut it.

As I said up thread, I really admired her for carrying on and doing the dance off in those circumstances.

Gorka, on the other hand, I wasn't impressed with at all. He looked really annoyed at being in the dance off and seemed almost disconnected from Alexandra when she was so upset.

Overall it was really interesting to see how the professionals interacted with each other and with the audience during the recordings. Aljaz, Katya and Kevin were all lovely.

Looking forward to Alexandra’s show dance. At least she can only be in one more dance off. Jamelia did five in a row didn’t she?

I'm not keen on AB, I just find her a bit fake. But she is a good dancer. I'm not that keen on Debbie or Joe or Molly either tbh. Although DD (5) loves Molly.

I don't see it as voting on the dancing. I can watch the professionals dance to enjoy the dance. The people I like on strictly are the ones that cannot dance at all at the beginning and see how they improve.

I really like Gemma, she's grown on me. I find her very genuine and not 'lovey' at all. And she couldn't dance at all and has got so much better. I can identify with that. I'd much rather watch Susan's and, Gemma's that get better than people that started off dancing almost perfectly.

MWestie - what's interesting about that is that Alexandra is denying that any "meltdown" occurred and has posted on Twitter to say as such! And yet you actually observed her breaking down in distress. I think sometimes they forget that there are real members of the public watching in the studio who can see what gets left in and what gets edited out!
