Anyone watching? Ok this is really mean but she doesn't look her best. Her hair and make up are not flattering.

Yep, how terrible the women are on this thread for commenting on her weight and looks etc etc - has it not occurred to you it may be coming from a place of genuine concern considering she’s had such a high profile shit time of it of late but is allegedly better now?

I was a bit shocked when I saw her evident weight gain and tatts and immediately felt the same feeling of creeping concern that I feel when I see Sinead O’Connor nowadays; that “you’re truly unhappy aren’t you?” feeling.

I love Sheridan. I hope she’s ok.

JWrecks · 05/11/2017 22:01

LOVE Sheridan Smith, me!! Love her to bits!

Not watching now, but her WDYTYA was wonderful. I loved the way she interacted with her lovely family and with everyone else as well. She really does seem like a genuinely fantastic person. (Speaking of WDYTYA, Brian Blessed... oh what a beautiful character that man is! Positively adore him. Ought to have been called Brian Blessing, as that's what he is!) Right, sorry, back to the lovely Sheridan.

UrsulaPandress · 05/11/2017 22:04

Not getting the love at all.

Only caught last few minutes but all I could think was why?

reallyorange · 05/11/2017 22:04

I always thought she was talented. But I just switched over to the last 5 mins of this show and haven't been so embarrassed for someone in ages. Why is she doing this nonsense?

Wilburissomepig · 05/11/2017 22:05

I think she's a really lovely lass. I don't give a shit about her hair or make up. 😕

I think she gets a raw deal sometimes and I really like her.

reallyorange · 05/11/2017 22:06

(Nothing to do with looks etc which are irrelevant, just why is she doing this talent show-level stuff; it's beneath her)

Butterymuffin · 05/11/2017 22:07

Just switched to +1 and saw her sing Don't Rain On My Parade. Brilliant.

Fresta · 05/11/2017 22:07

Well, it was all a bit cringey wasn't it? Not her finest moment.

CathysGhost · 05/11/2017 22:08

I listened to her album on Spotify earlier, I've only managed a little bit of the show as dd is sick. I live Sheridan and I think shes been through the mill. Her album was great, she's a good singer but I see her sadness in this show and it makes me want to bring her home to mine for a cuppa and a cuddle. She's the kind of woman you'd like to be friends with, she looks a real laugh. I thought she was brilliant in Mrs Biggs and cilla. Feel like she was part of my twenties on Two Pints and gavin and Stacey

Wobblypark · 05/11/2017 22:11

Hmmmm ... Sheridan Smith is one of my favourite actresses, if she’s in a programme I always watch it, but I must admit I found myself cringing a bit at that programme.

She has an ok voice but not strong enough to carry some of those big songs, and I found her annoying to watch, quite unnatural and affected. Surprised as I’ve never got that impression of her before.

Seems I’m in the minority though!

MrsJayy · 05/11/2017 22:17

I love her she probably punch you then hug you mind Grin but I think she was great tonight, and bless her singing I'm telling you.

Looneytune253 · 05/11/2017 22:22

I genuinely love Sheridan but found the show cringey tbh. It was uncomfortable towards the end when she was singing to the individual men and touching their head then she went and touched the conductors bottom. With all the recent press about the mps and their inappropriate behaviour I thought it was a little off. I’m not usually one for shouting about all that too but it was very uncomfortable

applecrumbleandcream · 05/11/2017 22:26

The crying spoilt the song??!!!!

It's called emotion ffs!!! Honest to God there are some bitches out there!!

She is an amazing fantastically talented woman. She doesn't look a state...She looked fab!! And unless you're a Victoria Secrets model then stfu

Fauchelevent · 05/11/2017 22:26

Let’s see photos of you all then, so i can pick you apart. Especially photos during a difficult time. Because remember ladies, no matter how hard you work or how good you are, your REAL job is to be visually appealing at all times.

Gemini69 · 05/11/2017 22:28

I imagine her Tears were for her recently lost treasured Father Flowers

BakedBeans47 · 05/11/2017 22:28

Bums I didn’t know this was on :( we love Sheridan in this house and won’t hear a word against her.

Timefortea99 · 05/11/2017 22:29

Well said Fauchelevent.

illuminousopptomist · 05/11/2017 22:35

Sheridan Smith is a goddess and one of our greatest talents - enough said.

So sorry to hear about her DF. Flowers

BriechonCheese · 05/11/2017 22:35

I like SS a lot and haven't seen this programme yet. Was it just an hour long advertisement for her new album?

Fresta · 05/11/2017 22:39

Well, if I had purposely sought out a career which put me in the public eye and chosen to perform on prime time TV, made up to the mines, I would expect my styling and outfits to be under scrutiny. But seeing as I haven't...

MrsJayy · 05/11/2017 22:39

It will probably be repeated on itv2 next week sometime. I just wonder why zander armstrong was presenting not that there was anything wrong with him .

MrsJayy · 05/11/2017 22:40

Yes it was showcasing her album with a bit of chat in between songs.

UrsulaPandress · 05/11/2017 22:45

I look like shit. But no one can see me. Cos I don't want them too.

Have no issue with how she looked. But she sounded third rate.

Sad.

Fresta · 05/11/2017 22:49

I'm sorry, but blubbing through a song isn't necessary. It's a skilled singer that can convey emotion without needing to go over the top. Emotion in the voice is one thing, all out tears means you can't sing properly.

FinallyDecidedOnUserName · 05/11/2017 22:53

She was fabulous as Cilla.
