Justice for Laurie Brett ( Jane)
she is a very good actress. She does deserve to be given a much better send off.

southeastdweller · 03/11/2017 07:28

She's gone for good - EE confirmed it and so did Laurie Brett. I don't think either are bluffing as it's not the kind of thing EE do.

nancy75 · 03/11/2017 07:33

I think it’s all a big bluff & Jane will come back at xmas and ruin Max

SoupDragon · 03/11/2017 09:27

If Laurie Brett has left for good it would explain Jane's farewell party.

It's an odd way to go though as it leaves a storyline unable to be completed really.

SoupDragon · 03/11/2017 09:31

As an aside, the Bobby inthe phone video was the same actor.

The80sweregreat · 03/11/2017 09:33

Its a shame she has gone - i really liked her character.

Bobby will now need to vent his anger onto someone else when he gets out.
lets hope he doesnt team up with Dennis the menace.

dingdongdigeridoo · 03/11/2017 10:11

Hmm could be a fluke I guess. Or she might be brought back in a few months. A lot of characters do a big flounce, then come back after panto season is done.

The80sweregreat · 03/11/2017 11:15

ding, they could always do 'new head' Jane too if the actress doesnt want to come back.
Michelle was cool last night dealing with Tom on the deserted tube train although inviting him to dinner was maybe a bad move.

50Sometimes · 03/11/2017 11:36

hmm ... more ambulances. relentlessly morbid.

the clown mask halloween robbery - so last year. lazzzeeee scriptwriters. I liked the little black cat though. Is it the same one every year?

'let me describe your scars to you' (Bex). 'I can't help you if you won't talk to me' (Shirley). Have they all been on Counselling Level 1 courses?

how about some character development? some real energy? some realistic conversations? some wit and wisdom? some real dramatic thrills Glitterball?

50Sometimes · 03/11/2017 11:42

oops sorry then I would be a Pedro Almodóvar movie maybe Smile. Or (as someone pointed out on an earlier thread) an ancient episode of Corrie

50Sometimes · 03/11/2017 11:42

would be watching

nancy75 · 03/11/2017 12:04

The more I think about it the more I think Jane must be coming back - the whole point of the story has to be the big reveal of Max as the baddie & they need Jane for that.

southeastdweller · 03/11/2017 12:11

But Jane knows that Max has threatened Bobby, so why would she put him in danger by blabbing?

nancy75 · 03/11/2017 12:16

When does Bobby get out of prison? She might make a triumphant return then

nancy75 · 03/11/2017 12:17

I just can;t imagine such a long running and established character leaving in such an odd way - we see her in a hotel leaving a message for Stacey and that's it - no follow up to that at all and we just don't see her again?

The80sweregreat · 03/11/2017 12:23

I just looked it up and its true, she has left the soap.
All very odd.
Someone else will have to find Stacey's phone in Bernie's bedroom and discover the truth about Max etc.
Maybe Karen will, she hasnt really had a lot of action or a real story of her own since she appeared.

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/11/2017 12:47

I missed the flashing trainees. Is that why honey thought it was Janet

I just saw a white sheet

OP posts:
SoupDragon · 03/11/2017 12:53

Yes, the trainers were the only visible identifying thing.

dingdongdigeridoo · 03/11/2017 15:56

I wonder if something happened behind the scenes to make the Jane actor quit? Personality clash with new producer or something?

It was a lame exit.

SoupDragon · 03/11/2017 16:05

Perhaps she was fed up with the amount of time she's spent in a coma recently.

youarenotkiddingme · 03/11/2017 16:26

The only reason I can think of that Jane (Laurie Brett) would leave so mundanely as she did is because she had to leave for personal reasons.
If that was a planned exit it was very anti climatic Hmm

Redcrayons · 03/11/2017 17:04

Hmmm, until I see Jane in an ITV reality show I won't believe she's officially left the BBC.

MrsJayy · 03/11/2017 17:22

Least she wasn't car crushed like poor fatboy, I can't remember how she left the first time when she ended up in Waterloo road

dingdongdigeridoo · 03/11/2017 18:07

Oh, something else has been bugging me. Why did they hold Honey back when she was trying to get to Janet? Parents would surely be allowed in the ambulance?

Maybe they’ll arrest her for causing a scene and she’ll go to jail for two weeks?

SinisterBumFacedCat · 03/11/2017 18:17

Janes exit was terrible and out of character, she would have told on Max immediately, and fingered him for Stevens death. I wonder if she left under a cloud, apparently being carried off in the back of a taxi is a punishment exit.
