I felt so sorry for Carmel.

The timing of this pub thing suggests it's being set up for a possible change in time for Christmas surely? JWB also apparently has terminal cancer so he's not going to be around for long anyway...

I find it a bit silly that Mick & Linda would have taken Fi's word for it with the £10k discount though. In the real world it would have been in writing.

The pub scene at the end was crying out for someone to throw a drink in Max's face. I would have loved to see him with some lemon sliding down his face.

I'd forgotten that Shirley forged Mick's signature when he was in rehab visiting Nancy. Sausage needs to explore this legal loophole. He might as well use his degree for something.

If they admit they forged Micks signature they could probably get out of the contract but They did take & spend the money so I’m not sure what would happen & Shirley would definitely be in trouble!

I agree Nancy, they spent all the money on the roof/ dog/ funeral expenses/ Mick's trip abroad, Linda's cabs from watford to home etc etc not to mention themed night accessories and general living stuff too i guess. I doubt that Willmott Brown would be interested in the forged signature either, being the nasty vile crook that he is - he wouldnt pursue that avenue and the others have probably forgotten what Shirley and linda did anyway - who knows? The contract was made with them in the first place. have to see what happens tomorrow and how they react to all this news. I hope Kush gets rough with Max!

Bumping people off is a better hobby for Phil than shelf construction. I think Louise is still waiting for her shelves, poor girl.
All Sharon seems to do these days is get all dressed up to go shopping in the Minute Mart and give Phil little jobs around the house before she leaves (fix the kettle/shelves/put some batteries in my massage ball)

Does Sharon have a job? she was working in the Vic for a while, but seems to not be working now at all. Did she run the Albert once? i am at loss to her function, other than giving phil little jobs ( as mentioned above) no wonder he isnt happy! ( not dissing stay at home mums, but she has always worked somewhere in the past!)

Don't say that 80's! Christmas EE always delivers (hopefully) like the Queen's speech. Something big always goes down in Walford at Christmas, I'm remaining optimistic.

I think Sharon fancies Phil more when he's a ganster, she secretly wants him to have something to Sort ahht as she loves fretting about him. And he'll be out from under her feet.

soup, no , i doubt they got the going rate for a pub in that area - at the time they were desperate for money - linda was away in watford and the leak was getting worse. They just signed anything in order to get themselves out of the mire - i think that blondes or akire did a breakdown of their outgoings at the time - if they only got 100k then there might be some left over though? I really dont know. what about the 50k they have raised too?? will JWB just take that from them? has mick already paid it to them? so many questions. lol

The whole thing is very far fetched, but it is only a soap, so i can forgive this - the one thing that is a bit realistic is Carmel's obsession with Max - a lady on her own, not bad looking in a nightie and stockings , working hard without much fun in her life, then being suckered in by Max - believing all the lies, making excuses for him, thinking that he cares about her. when you think about it, this does happen in real life too, its only been her children that have seen any ' red flags' with regards his behaviour.

Why on earth is Max proposing to Fi anyway? She's lunging at Mick, her family are awful, she still calls her dad Daddy,bleurgh, he's shagging Carmel even though he could have finished that long ago..very strange.

That building in East London would be over £1million, if they spent that on vets bills they were diddled!there is an empty similar size pub for sale near me in SE London & it’s £3.5 million for the building. The script writers either didn’t do any research or they checked land prices in 1965!
