I think it's too pertinent an issue for EE! It's just making it glaringly obvious that the locals couldn't afford to live there to us viewers.

I prefer a bit of good old fashioned soap action; fights, love stories, affairs, East End baddies and people getting thrown out of pubs.

I disagree. I think it's fairly realistic that some of them (Vincent, Phil, Masood, Ian, Jack) own their own houses as they got on the property ladder early apart from Vincent who perhaps got his deposit from nefarious activities. And the rest are council tenants, apart from Stacey and Martin who're on 'mates rates'.

nancy There is no easy way of telling you this, so I'll get right to the point. Sort of. When there was a knock at the front door, Carmel assumed it was Max. She took off her apron, under which she had a kimono style dressing gown. After that, she took off the dressing gown, under which she wore a dark purple and black bodice / lingerie type thing. With stockings and suspenders.
She went to open the front door – no one there, so she has a good out the door and stands there in aforementioned outfit.
Then a voice coming from the direction of the back door and kitchen, shouting "Only me!", and Massood appeared in the hallway. As the kids would say (or would they?), hashtag cannotunsee.
