I had pre-eclampsia and then eclampsia- spent a few days on itu after DD1 was born.

Wasn’t a nice experience ( and after having pre eclampsia again with DD2 I was sterilized as my kidneys wouldn’t take another pregnancy)

I think it was during the gas explosion? I remember her in the ambulance with Johnny and it crashed, maybe that? Obviously it wasn't a memorable scene, none of us can remember!

The cast on her arm looks very real to me! I wondered that too, normally when the Spams are on !! lol. Maggie Stead and Chris Timothy are good actors, but their roles in this are just not right for the soap. a shame really. maybe their son will show up and he will shoot him instead! they sound like wrong uns to me.

Akire, I think Karen would be getting even more than that in benefits. On top of income support, child tax credits and child benefit she probably also gets some Disability Living Allowance for the 2 boys who have ASD and Carers Allowance for looking after them. As you said her rent top up will be minimal. She's probably getting about £500 a week.
