Lauren has alcoholic hepatitis. I forgot what the name of her condition is and looked it up – and came across some potential spoilers I rather not know about. Boo. And some story lines I completely forgot, Max and Tanya were to remarry, Rainie lied about being pregnant, Lauren was seeing Derek's son (her cousin) and drunk drove into a shop.

Anyway, alcoholic hepatitis, that's why she should abstain from alcohol, not "only" because she is an alcoholic.

I just realised I dreamt of Eastenders. I dreamt that Ted and Joyce were a secret gay couple, Joyce cross dressing (more or les. Not quite as impressive as Les, mind you.), fooling the world they are just an "ordinary" older couple. Being from a different generation, they feel shame and guilt. Joyce tries on her client's dresses in secret.

I'd say utter nonsense, but then I've been watching for the last few months, so it doesn't seem quite as contrived or dumb as some of the story lines they're trying to get away with at the moment!

It took Robbie, of all people to point out the ridiculousness of Martins arrest compared to Joyce shooting someone. I like it when it sounds like a character has been reading this thread, and can deliver deadpan lines about how ridiculous the plot is, like Tamwar used too. I miss Tamwar.

I don't know why all the good actors leave/are written out. Tamwar, his mother, his father, his sister, his gay brother.....his entire family were great yet they all left. Roxy, Babe, Pam. Of course thankfully some like Lee went too and some stayed like Jane, Ian, Phil but I often think when there are big storylines looming that signals the end of those characters. Surely the writers need not push the storylines to the point of no return.

They also need to stop bringing back old characters with no relevance. Like Derek (gay one). There was no point in bringing him back. It was stupid. Robbie isn't doing anything relevant. Kathy isn't doing anything. Bring back someone good!

I loved Tamwar and his dry humour. He had a great knack of delivering one liners in a funny dead pan way.
I suppose some of the actors want to leave before they're type cast in the role and want to move on to bigger better things. (And then they return because they can't find any work).

Joyce has a way of talking where she doesn't move her lips much.

I think being typecast is better than leaving to go on some 'sleb' tv reality show, do some guest appearances, do a panto, release a fitness DVD, and end up in some weekly magazine in the 'what are they doing now' page where we see for all the wrong reasons. I don't understand why some of them still choose this though I suppose they all believe they will be the ones who make it big whereas in reality they are household names when in EE.

I remember the actress who played Sonia making an awful reality show about having her first baby. Natalie becoming mum or something.

Its odd how you rarely see any of the actors in much else - on occasion i might see a familiar face ( Mahsood has appeared in a few films over the years) but not that often. Makes me wonder what they do if they dont go down the reality show route or Panto.
I'm not one to go to the theatre ( maybe once in every decade!) so they might all be there.

I watched Natalie Cassidy's reality show . It was my guilty pleasure.

Minty / Cliff Parisi is in Call The Midwife. Nuchelle had a small role there too, before EE and I think I spotted someone else but forgot.
Sean/Lee Ross, Denise's Ex, was great as Litton in Life On Mars. No idea if that was before or after EE though.
And 'Karen' / Lorraine (?) was the pub landlady in Legend (Cray Twins played by Tom Hardy). Looked very good in her 60s get up – not a stray bra strap in sight!

And Kara Tointon, from EE's Dawn to My Fair Lady and Sound Of Music's Maria. Just off the top of my head, I'm sure there are lots that haven't just disappeared out of sight after EE.

Legend is a brilliant film. I didn't realise that was "karen" in it.

I always thought agents and false friends tell, especially young, cast members "You're so popular in EE, you carry the show, you're bigger than that, you could do Hollywood!" So the get their heads turned and leave.

I wonder how Patsy Palmer is doing in Hollywood? Doesn't happen to many that they make it big. Although did to Margot Robbie from Neighbours. But she's 20 years younger than Patsy. Don't get me wrong. Would be great if it could happen for our Bianca.

Poor Bianca probably just got fed up with having "Riickeee!" shouted at her in the street.

Gosh, i watched Legend a while back ( shameless Tom fan) didnt reconise her at all in that film.

I've watched 3 times 80's and didn't realise! I either need glasses or the bra straps threw me.

My friend went to see it at the pictures when it first came out. I said to her ' Tom Hardy plays both twins', she was blown away! Goes to show how good he is in that, even if it isnt the best film ever made.
My Fil makes me laugh as he reakons he knew Vi Kray - vaguely of course - along with most of the East end it seems!

ha ha, you couldnt meet a bigger coward than me, honestly! My fil's fammillly are huge though ( one of 11 kids) all born in the East end, so it wouldnt surprise me if some of them knew the Krays.
Didnt they say that most crooks and most of the eastend claimed to have been in the 'Blind beggar' pub the night they killed Jimmy Cornell? funny old times back then. Good ole days eh?
