Dr Foster is back on Tuesday

I vaguely remember this. Can someone jog my memory please? Also how did it end ?

OP posts:
curtainphobic · 19/09/2017 22:47

Notable moment for me was the super quick chicken pasta broccoli dinner. She must have got that off here.

Clawdy · 19/09/2017 22:47

The most improbable bit was them having wild sex while their son was in the house, and he'd only popped upstairs a few minutes before!

scrabbler3 · 19/09/2017 22:49

I suspect that Simon told Kate that Tom had raped Isabel so that she'd make the decision to bar him from the house. His plan was to get Gemma and Tom out of Parminster and he's succeeded.

Gemma is on her way to Mary and Jack's I expect. So, lots of moody scenes looking out to sea. At least there'll be no enormous wine glasses, with Jack being a recovering alcoholic.

VinoEsmeralda · 19/09/2017 22:50

Could the next twist be thats she is pregnant?

BurnTheBlackSuit · 19/09/2017 22:52

Is Gemma going to discover she's pregnant... Hmm

BurnTheBlackSuit · 19/09/2017 22:52

Great minds!

2rebecca · 19/09/2017 23:05

I think Simon will get bored once Gemma has gone. They are obsessed with each other. He has plotted revenge for 2 years and won't know what to do when he gets it.

Imbroglio · 19/09/2017 23:06

Kate looked terrible.

GinandGingerBeer · 19/09/2017 23:10

I think whoever wrote it must live in a cave.
Who has sex in the bloody kitchen\dining room while your teenager is still up?
As well as all the other ridiculous scenes it's just a complete cringefest.
It might be drama but it's so unbelievable I'm embarrassed for her!

Anyway, same time next week then? Grin

Elendon · 19/09/2017 23:11

My goodness that was cringe. The script was appalling. But I'll still watch.

I reckon Kate is going to go full on ballistic. And that Simon will get bored and seek out another. Not necessarily in that order!

Elendon · 19/09/2017 23:12

Cross post on the cringe!

DontDrinkDontSmoke · 19/09/2017 23:13

Utter pish

Will see you all next week when we tune in Grin

RyanStartedTheFire · 19/09/2017 23:13

There's been very little of Kate in this series so maybe these last two episodes will be her time to shine. Also yy to Gemma being pregnant.

BuzzKillington · 19/09/2017 23:18

I fell asleep after the unsexy sex scene, so missed most of it.

VeryCunningStunt · 19/09/2017 23:19

Ok, I gave up after the first episode of series 2 because it just seemed too silly.

Do I need to start watching again? Is it so bad it's good, or just 'bad' bad?

Wormysquirmy · 19/09/2017 23:20

It was ludicrous.

But what I love about this series is the ability to feel just how raging Suranne must be. It's kinda put me off divorce...

My bet is that boring Kate finds out about the shag and Simon loses everything....

Elendon · 19/09/2017 23:26

But the sex scene was born out of hatred for each other. How does that work? Hate sex?

Only a man could write this utter tosh!

I wouldn't even touch my ex. The very thought would make me vomit.

MargotLovedTom1 · 19/09/2017 23:35

Someone mentioned crap continuity up thread: as I'm completely a little obsessed with Dr F's bizarre shoe choices, I noticed that when she ran after Isobel in the town centre her footwear changed from the (nice) beige court shoes she had been wearing, to (nice) black wedges for a few seconds, and then back to the beige court shoes when she made her way back to Ros. The biggest Wtf?! was that both pairs of shoes were non-fugly.

TizzyDongue · 19/09/2017 23:36

Well she didn't waste anytime changing or packing did she. #quickierental

Also I thought they were in Parminster, so how come they went past the Parminster sign?

Is it like that French progamme with the returning dead people or Hotel California?

LoveDeathPrizes · 20/09/2017 00:08

I know I keep harping on about this but... were Anna and Tom always that close? I find her treatment of him a little bit odd.

NotJustThreeSmallWords · 20/09/2017 00:11

Did the actress playing Anna have to audition as "walk down the drive to see your neighbour" as that is all she seems to do.

And now rape apologist to add to the shit that the man wrote. Cos, y'know, it was ok cos he was drunk and his mum and dad have split up.

EnidButton · 20/09/2017 00:42

Have paused it again this week to ask who TF writes the sex scenes? Confused

Also for one very very brief moment I thought Simon looked quite attractive. I think it was the rolled up sleeves and the fact he was washing up. Grin It soon passed though, don't worry.

Right. Back to watching them throw each other around on the table whilst their son is pottering around upstairs.

LoveDeathPrizes · 20/09/2017 00:46

If Tom wasn't Simon's she'd have said by now wouldn't she? She can't be that fixated on leverage. I think it's more likely some evidence that Amelie isn't his - hence why she told Kate not to show Simon.

The sex montage was bizarre.

Still can't fathom why James is sticking around and why he's always just, there... When do these fairly affluent people go to work?

Jodie Comer really under-used again. I reckon Bertie's better than this too.

As for the secret, Tom said something tonight to Simon like - 'I know about X but you said it'll be okay because you're here now.'

Also wondering at the relevance of Isabel as daughter of Simon's previous secretary. Mum will no doubt attribute Tom's behaviour to his dad's nature and there will be some kick back there.

I know it's not a crystal script but I'm fricking loving it!

LoveDeathPrizes · 20/09/2017 01:01

Although have to agree with the male-centred script. He nearly killed her. Now he hates her. He cheated on her. Lied to her. Destroyed her son. And yet somehow we're team Gemma or team Simon. There aren't many shades of ambiguity there unless you're a pretty massive misogynist... And yeah, would you be bending over the work too after that? I get that it's fuelled by anger etc but even so...

TabascoToastie · 20/09/2017 02:18

Bertie Carvel gave a bizarre interview to the Times the other week, viz

“Infidelity is something that a lot of people do, and if you consign them to the moral scrapheap, you’re writing off a lot of people.”

“I don’t think it’s any more so much that you must be faithful to one person. I don’t know if it constitutes infidelity just to have sex with someone you don’t normally have sex with.”

The interview also talks about how he goes to "enormous lengths" to hide who he's dating, although the identity of his partner is known and she used to be quite open about their relationship on social media.
