Dr Foster is back on Tuesday

I vaguely remember this. Can someone jog my memory please? Also how did it end ?

OP posts:

Going back to the last series when she tried to drown herself. Did anyone else notice that although she drove away from home in a rush to visit the boozy GP friend and her previous 'nanny' in the work clothes she was wearing. She suddenly had all these different casual clothes suitable for a beach ( and going into the water)?

diddl · 06/09/2017 09:32

Did I misremember or did Simon & Kate go on holiday as a couple with her parents?

Even if not I found it ridiculous that his friends would have accepted him being with the daughter of mutual friends.

Or did he have some dirt on someone?

Either way I thought that it was really disappinting & having read this thread a glad that I've decided not to bother with series 2.

Loopytiles · 06/09/2017 09:35

Her clothes are great. I would like all of them!

The80sweregreat · 06/09/2017 09:38

i love her clothes and she has a fab figure. when he said ' that old top' my mouth dropped open!! she is a busy working mother, full time with a son to care for, she has time to go shopping for new clothes every five minutes doesnt she? she always looks nice. out of everything he has done, that really got to me! ( i know its a drama, but making everything her fault, just typical!!)

Gracielaw · 06/09/2017 09:47

I loved this first episode ! Drew me straight back in. I hate Simon and really hate Roz - she is such a bitch.

Yes the lady neighbour know that Gemma and Neil DTD

Suranne Jones is an associate producer on the show !

Can't wait to see what all unfolds, I wanna know what's up with Tom, not too interested in the the gift, but I think Kate probably opened it already but didn't want to give Gemma the satisfaction, whatever it is.

PantPlot · 06/09/2017 11:00

Did anyone else think for one awful moment that she was going to pour wine into the ^glass of water*Shock

I was all 'phew'when she chugged from the bottle.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 06/09/2017 11:06

I predict a big sex scene next week HmmGrin

isobel79 · 06/09/2017 11:10

Her ex has got a BLOODY CHEEK what a tense episode wish it was on todaySad

derxa · 06/09/2017 11:14

She reached the lowest point when she had a fag! Confused Grin See you all next week! I quite fancy the ex husband

PandorasXbox · 06/09/2017 11:16

It was shit but I'll keep watching. I need to know what the present was anyway Grin

PandorasXbox · 06/09/2017 11:16

Wtf Derxa Shock

RockyBird · 06/09/2017 11:29

That lube was in a very posh bottle.

It was Durex tingle with the label peeled off. Not that I do the same, oh no-

YoungBritishPissArtist · 06/09/2017 11:32

The neighbour whose DH bonked Gemma last season is the Queen Mum in The Crown. I've only just realised with her different hair.

Annoying new GP really reminds me of Rachel from This Life.

anotherniceday · 06/09/2017 11:33

I can't believe the disloyalty of the son.
I can't imagine most 15 year olds being so cruel. Hmm
or so immature to fall for the dad's spiel.

Anybody else thinking that she will use the acid that she used to disolve her wedding ring and put it in the OW's face cream?

I think that showingher rifling through the bedroom drawer and picking up the cream was a visual clue.

anotherniceday · 06/09/2017 11:35

The only thing I dislike about this show is the way they're protraying her as being crazy,
When in actual fact she's being driven to it.

Any woman would go crazy if they had their nose rubbed in the wealth and their son taken away.

anotherniceday · 06/09/2017 11:36

Ah! It was lube?

Even better Grin

FeralBeryl · 06/09/2017 11:41

I'm late to the party as only just watched the new episode and didn't want you lot ruining it Grin
I'm very disappointed, the end of series 1 showed her making real strides at moving forwards and recovering but this one had her frumped up, back to abusing her confidentiality clauses and being completely unrealistic in breaking into their house/going to the party.

Obviously I'll be watching next week behind a pile of cringe prevention cushions

Mumof41987 · 06/09/2017 11:44

Her fake posh accent is the only thing I can't stand about this series !! Why just why ?? I wish she would just talk normally as her posh accent is atrocious and sporadic at that

anotherniceday · 06/09/2017 11:46

Never mind the ex, she needs to take out fecking Ros- she's the shittest mate since bloody Brutus

Too true.
She was a shit mate in the first series and a shit mate in this one.

The80sweregreat · 06/09/2017 11:47

I think in real life , by now, she would have moved on a lot.
however, it was so successful, they have to make another one and this is the way its going. The whole bunny boiler thing has been done to death though over the years, so hoping it moves in a different direction maybe? Not sure which way though!
I agree that her ex is very good looking - such a shame he plays such a vile character. James was nice too - ( bit shallow i know)

anotherniceday · 06/09/2017 11:48

junior GP (Sian?)and make her work life shit pushing Gemma further over the edge!!

It's obvious that the junior doc wants to push Gemma to the side.

The80sweregreat · 06/09/2017 11:49

They all have it in for Gemma at work. She is up against it.
lighting that fag was funny though - she means business now.

paradoxicalInterruption · 06/09/2017 11:51

www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2017/sep/06/doctor-foster-review-suranne-jones-brian-cox-the-21st-century-face-for-space

Liked this review - it's not meant to be realistic and that's why it's so good/bad. Husband and I shouting at the telly last night! 'Don't go in!' , 'don't text that to your kid', 'don't trust her!'.

anotherniceday · 06/09/2017 11:52

What a hideous bunch of people these lot are!

Creepy psychopathic ex.
Drippy little sod of a son.
Bunch of traitor 'friends'.
Dead-behind-the-eyes school girl-looking OW (and her vulgar parents).

You've nailed in one.
The only likeable character is the school teacher.

Loopytiles · 06/09/2017 11:53

Yeah, Ros needs to meet a sticky end: perhaps her wedding will rival a Holby wedding for melodrama!
